Hi everyone! first post here. Recently we got a PocketNC V2-50 in our warehouse and I'm trying to set up a PostProcessor for it. I'm almost there, but for some reason when the tool is moving around the spheric surface, it is not exporting the G-Code as it should be. To me, it looks like the Post-Processor is trying to get from the beginning of one of the dome paths to the end of it but instead of going from the point, let say, M to point N as it should, it is getting to N from behind, so it's trying to calculate a smooth curve to get there, resulting in a wrong trajectory.(Image below)The cylindrical section is "fine", and I quote it because the whole program is running with the pocket NC is executing the code with the A table rotated 180º, which doesn't make any sense unless there's a setting that I'm missing in the Option File Generator (which is where I've been trying to get it done) The PostProcessor I'm using as a reference is the UNCX01.P37, which is one of the Cre
The drill web cycle works properly through creo when playing the toolpath, but when it posts out it does not work.I see that the web drill sequence outputs a CYCLE/THRU in the CLDATA, and according to the GPOST literature, if your control does not have a hardware cycle for CYCLE/THRU (ours doesn't) and set it to NA, then it will force GPOST into software mode. The issue is, it seems that GPOST even in software, deals with CYCLE/THRU differently than Creo does.Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work correctly, or possibly even have a working FIL for reference?
I have a working kinematic model that will work fine as long as you do not immediately rotate to the opposing side. If I start machining on B0 and go to B180, the Z travels right through the part and continues machining without rotating the B axis. But if I go from B0 to B90 and then on to B180, it will rotate as intended. If I go from B90 to B270, it also will go straight through the part. My "MACH_ZERO" CSYS match each other, I can't think of anything I have done wrong on my end. Any ideas? Or is this just another thing that Creo offers but is broken?Also, if I start on B180 as my first machining side, then with all following rotations, the tool will go through the part. Good morning. Wondering if anyone can help me with something for my programming guys. We are in process of moving to Creo 6 for machine programming and one my guys noticed when he is doing a standard drilling cycle, pecking, or tapping that the parameters for the tools selected are being auto-populated by a relation and not leaving the parameter tab yellow, signaling to my guys they still need to select the right pre-made drill parameter file for the operation. The auto-populated amounts are extremely high cut feeds and spindle speeds. The concern here is if the auto-populated amounts get forgotten and not changed it could be bad. In Creo 3, which we use now, it does not do this and leaves the tab yellow with empty cut feeds and spindle speeds, even after the tool is selected. We can then go and select a drilling parameter to use which will fill in the proper feeds and speeds. I'm wondering how I can eliminate these auto-populated relations tha
Hello, a tiny blog entry for setting up color definitions for bores and holes in EMX. It is quite simple. Go to the EMX Options -> Technology Tab You will find 3 columns: Hole Color, Face Color, 2nd Hole Color In the rows different cutout UDFs are listed. In this example I have chosen 2 different UDFS that are used to create holes for guide components guide_thread_bore and guide_thru_thread (1.) and one for the cut out of Locating ing slots locating_round_slot (2.) Double click within a cell and a color dialog will open. For the guide UDFs if have choosen a RED color For the Locating UDFs if have chosen a GREEN color. With this setup every time guide_thread_bore and guide_thru_thread are used, these cutouts will be colored RED. Every time I use locating_round_slot these cutouts will be colored GREEN. I have a 3-axis Sherline cnc mill to which I've recently added a cnc rotary table. I want to cut vertical cylindrical holes by positioning the work-piece using the X and Y axis and power rotating the table to cut the cylinders. I I have to add the 4th axis stepper driver to my self-built controller, and teach myself how to do this; time, lots of time, but I have it. I can add the stuff the post needs for the 4th axis with Gpost. Question is simple. Is this possible? john ferguson
Hi,in the help center it is not clear how to use REGEN TYPE in manufacturing. ◦ Normal—Regenerate a part normally. ◦ Slow—Regenerate a part, and displays the part and tool path after regenerating each manufacturing feature. ◦ Step—Regenerate a part, waits for user input after regenerating, and displays each manufacturing feature. ◦ Supp Fail—Automatically suppress any features that fail upon regeneration, along with their children. ◦ Compute CL—Specify if you want the CL data to be recalculated at regeneration time. I am making program using creo manufacturing and using CAM Post post processer to convert it in Fanuc controller program. But machine is very old control system or something else is locked in machine, which is not able to read i, k command used in Radius turning step and only able to understand "R" command. How can we make CL file which should have 'R' command instead of i,k command for radius machining in 2-axis turning machine?
Hi all,I intended to try Creo Parametric (Trial) but on startup I get only the follwoing dialog complaining about no write access to "C:\win... \system32"I really don't expect apps to fiddle in that directory but anyway, this isn't a very pleasant first experience with a trial software...I have a Win 10 Pro desktop machine which should have no problems running std software.I tried modifying the directory via the UI-dialog, but attempts to change can't be confirmed wit OK, and thus it doesn't stick, and I get this dialog everytime I strat Creo. Any hints about how to get started with Creo?// Rolf
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 3.0 (connected) 3.0 M190Fixture disappears after being applied to manufacturing assembly model.Here are the errors that I faced No errors or messages. Fixture simply does not show in the assembly after placing. This apparently has been an issue since prior to Creo 1.0. What is the cause of this and how can I work around it?

Hello All, I have been working with Creo since Pro/Engineer 2001. Currently we are still running Creo 3.0 but have purchased a new Sodick Wire EDM. Realizing it was time for a CAM package, I decided to stick with PTC and add Production Machining Seat. I am running into some very basic issues being that there is very little documentation or tutorials available on this subject. The workflow is so far, incomprehensible to me. I have no clue how to get started, what is necessary to configure and what is not. There also seem to be only 3 options for machines in the post processor. I have never written a post and have no clue what is involved. I have not been successful in finding anyone that offers training in the manufacturing extension. I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me get started specifically with Wire EDM functions. Thanks in advance, Chris.

Any recommendations on what NC sequence to use to program this would be appreciated. Helical sweep with .100" pitch that is mirrored. We are using this as a locking feature for a gluing operation. Is there an NC sequences in Turning similar to "trajectory" in milling? If a groove is formed at one or both ends that is fine.

We recently made a slow transition to solid tool models (tool + holder .asm), spurred on by getting a new 5-axis machine and wanting full simulation. This was not as helpful as one might think, as there is no usable translation from Creo to NCSimul tools. Additionally, the in-Creo ModuleWorks verification took a back seat during the implementation, with no VERICUT_TYPE parameters being entered for any of the tools. As it is now, ModuleWorks shows just the holder for 90% of the tools I've tried it with. The solid tools & holders were set up with family tables, including one multi-level table for all the holders. This makes it easy for me to add the VERICUT_TYPE Holder parameter in a single place, but this results in ModuleWorks just showing the tool for 90% of the tools. As far as I can tell, ModuleWorks pulls a revolved representation from Creo for the tool, but loads the .prt file for the holder. So just the holders showed up originally
Sometime between 7.0 and 4.0 Creo think tank decided to destroy our most useful sequence. Surface Milling. What was done for so long in Surface Milling now has to be done in Conventional Milling. One can open an older project with surface milling in it, and it works fine. Make a change to that sequence, such as an added or removed surface, and it "updates" to the new version of surface milling which appears to be useless. This forces us to make a new conventional milling sequence. Surface selection in conventional milling is unbelievably inefficient. No more are the days of dragging a box around a group of surfaces to collect. The tech support seems to push the Seed and Boundary method of collection. This works OK for simple pockets with a flat plane at the top boundary. If what you are milling has a varying top surface, it just doesn't work. After I complete my model and create tool path with Creo Manufacturing file, OR while creating CL file, I want to scale my model by 0.5 (due to using same program in different machine), but only in X-value (Diameter) and not in Z-value (height)! There is a scaling option given, but it scale the CL file both in X and Z direction by 0.5, which is not solving my problems. Can someone help me, if there is a way out here?
Hi Folks! When creating a HSM roughing NC sequence I've set the config option mfg_param_auto_copy_from_tool to 'all' but the finishing speed and feed data for the selected tool are written into the parameters, not the roughing ones. If I create a Rough or Volume Rough sequence it imports the roughing speed and feed as I would expect. Am I missing something or is this a giltch? Thanks in anticipation, Clive

dear all, please let me know how to add stop disc MH and stop disc FH of same supplier in mould base definition file.I will save this assembly definition file for reuse. I will use different types of part (model) for stop disc MH and stop disc. when I am downloading the preset mould assembly (what I configured) I can see only top disc MH in my mould assembly. stop disc FH is missing. am I doing something wrong? please advise. Hello Community, I am working on EMX 12.0.2.0 We have issue regarding Fastener size in BOM. I am using d-m-e STD supplier in which M series screws, which are M5, M8, M10 but when i am exporting a BOM, Fastener size calculated by its head Diameter. We need (M5 x 15) M-series in BOM size column. Similarly it happen with ejector pin also. Please find the attached Image FYI.
