Hello,   I have a model with a large number of coordinate systems that I use for reference. Our software people need the x,y,z locations of each of these points in relation to a central origin. We use a cmm to measure each of these locations for accuracy calculations. I currently do this manually using the distance tool, but there has to be a better way. It's awfully quiet in here lately!! I was wondering how many have switched to Creo 2.0 for manufacturing and how well you like it? I have it loaded and have been testing it. It seems to be fairly intuitive and easy to use. I have copied toolpaths using WF 4. I'm now using WF 5 and can't seem to figure out how to duplicate a toolpath. Hi, i'm looking for a post for an old Tree mill. I tried the ones at http://www.ptc.com/cs/cs_26/howto/ncgp4903/ncgp4903.htm with no luck. Does anyone have one or can direct me where to find one? I have a purchased one but would like to get one that will open right in pro-e. We are getting a new Datron M8 which i found a post for through the above link which will work. Can someone help with a drilling issue if you have time? I attached a file containing the result of what i want to drill. Problem is that not all the holes are drillable without to much manual labor. I was thinking someone might know a way to convert the holes that aren't recongized by the software as holes or maybe have a way to convert them to holes so that the software can read them. I know some other CAM softwares will convert. I hope someone can help otherwise i may need to look at different softwares which i'd rather not do. Hope this makes sence, just want to see waht you guys think based on the actual model.Jeff

Hello,I and my colleagues have to design turning and milling tools, thus we often need to check the shape generated by these tools during machining.As the cutting edges are sometimes not contained in a plane and/or not in a plane containing the axis of revolution of the tool, we cannot simply use the Revolve feature.The easiest way we found is (in WF5) :1. Copy/Paste a cutting edge2. Copy the copied edge3. Paste special with Rotate transformation (10°) around the tool's axis of revolution4. Pattern it every 10°5. have a couple of high feed inserted end mills that say I can use up to the full cutter width for cutting, But using the roughing sequence in Pro/Manufacturing will only let you less than half the cutter width for a step over value. anyone have a work around for this issue? I am trying to install WF 5.0 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine. When I try to set up the startup directory, I cannot see any of my network drives. Anyone know why? I'm interested in displaying multiple analysis features and their corresponding results in a table on a drawing. I'm attempting to create a composite table that displays not only the typical component data but also other informaiton we use for our manufacturing purposes (trim lengths, drill diameters, etc.). It's very possible I'll have multiple length analysis features, multiple diameter analysis features, etc. The analysis features will often be created referencing imported geometry. My question is this...how do I display in my table the details for each analysis feature? An ideal solution would be one that automatically updated as analysis features were added or deleted. Is this possible? I started on pro/E in ’96 on rev 16, but I worked for an injection mold tooling shop. In the mold package, matching accuracy between the molded part and the mold extracts was crucial, so we always used absolute because relative made it hard to match. So I’ve used absolute accuracy at 0.0001” from the beginning with no issues that I can recall. The issues I’ve had with accuracy have come from using relative rather than absolute. I found when i post out my NCL file to say a Haas post processor in a drill cycle the first hole location is always skipped. The hole is is the first move position but not under where the drill G code is. Any idea of how to fix this. Seems like the post is the problem. When I post a .ncl file my RPM's won't go beyond 10,000 even if in the paratemers they are at say 25,000. Any ideas how to fix this? Seems like it's a software issue setting???Jeff

Hi everyone, I was wondering what people use for high speed tooling. We are trying to figure out what or what not to get or do. Can people give there experience with diameter with respect to flute length, suppliers, special balanced tools (can't seem to find anything definitive with manufactures) will any 2 flute or single flute carbide end mill work? Heard from our machine trainer any 2 or single flute carbide would work and we have plenty of carbide tooling here in house we would like to use if possible. How much can be hanging out of holder. Hello everyoneim a fairly new user to pro e had it 3 months now im having a problem that when i generate the nc file when it generates the g3 or g2 code with i and j code if i take more than 1 cut the i and j code are mising, if i just take the single cut the i and j are there. im using pro e 5 and creo 1.0 any ideas would be gratefull

Hi all,I'm having some trouble storing my mapkey button icons and hope some of you can give me a hint.I customized my ribbons and menus adding my own mapkey buttons and creating icons for them. I'm new to pro/E and Creo. I am having trouble with the expert machinist output to G-Code. My Machine tool does not like the format of the post processor. I have the basic 2 ½ D CAM that comes with Creo. The post outputs the tool path in as follows: N0012X00035Y0015F01. My machine tool interprets this as X=35 and Y=15. It should be X=0.35 and Y=1.5. In addition, can I adjust how the line numbers are generated? I would like to start at N0010 and increment by tens. I cannot find in the documentation how to change these formatting issues. I have tried using the NC Post Process under the Applications menu, but I’m not sure what It is actually doing. There is only the one default profile UNCX01 under the machine setup. And the list file says its using the UNCX01.p00 file (This file does not exist on my Hard drive.) So I’m at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.
