Hello,During CAM tests on Creo NC version 9.0, I noticed that when creating a face milling operation, there is no Check Surfaces option to add elements and avoid collisions. This function is available in some operations (Drilling, Tapping, Roud, Chamfer, ...) but not in the major functions such as face milling.Currently the generated toolpaths can cause collisions. Is it possible to generate a collision check for surfacing operations? It would be interesting to create toolpaths that take into account the environment (clamping, part, stock, machine). Hi,I am a student at a university working on a year+ long project that requires us to cut out a semi complex aerodynamic part (around 2x0.5x0.5m for reference in size) on a 4th axis cnc machine. I am working on the nc tool paths to cut this part however I have gotten to the point where it takes 15+ minutes to calculate the tool paths (around 5 cut line operations) which makes it very hard to diagnose problems and becomes very time costly. I have heard about creo parametric not being able to use all of the cpu cores and as I am in creo 6 (for compatibility and IT reasons) I wanted to know if the newer versions of creo support using more cores for nc tool paths or if there is a way to get around it, I have a Ryzen 2600x (6 cores, 3.6 GHz) and 16GB of ram)
Has anyone seen this or have a suggestion for fixing it?When I simulate a cut in moduleworks on Creo 9, it sometimes creates a random large circle that, of course, gouges the part. Path simulation in Creo shows no such circle. And when I run the part in real life, there are no problems. But it really messes up my machining simulations. I've had this on a couple of parts now. On the part in the picture below, the red represents a gouge. I tried reducing the "interpolation tolerance" as well as the "collision tolerance", but neither eliminates the circle.
Thread milling seems broken in Creo 8. I used a template that worked fine in Creo 7, but now in Creo 8, the lead-in radius is the wrong direction. It's still tangent, but the wrong way. I can't get it to change and have to switch to a radial entry so that there is no radius. Is this a bug, or am I doing it wrong?
Hello,I am using Creo Pamaretric version 7.0 and I noticed that in Creo NC the toolpaths that the system generates can cause collisions. Even though the elements in the categories (Reference model, workpiece and fixture) are defined correctly, the default tool path created in Creo NC can cause collisions with a part or the environment. It is as if the system only takes into account the part to be machined and not the rest. Many CAM programs do not generate toolpaths if this could cause a collision. If this is the case, the calculation stops automatically and finds another solution. Is there any function or option to optimize the toolpaths and avoid collisions? Thank you and best regards.
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 5.0 (connected) Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.6.0it often happens that the program crashes when starting the program or when processing 2D files.
As you know scan type_2 works well in three axis surface milling, but if you turn to five axis surface milling, you will find type_2 doesn't work ,the tool doesn't go around the islands.it will create many retracts. how to use type_2? thanks!

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.2.0I would like to add opskip to my posted files. This would skip nc code when the block skip funtion is turned on at the cnc machine. It should insert a / before the lines of posted cnc code that I want to optionally skip. I need to know how to drive that into my programming. Thanks
Hello All, I design cosmetics packaging & tooling with Creo. We are looking to purchase a new 3D Printer (ours is cheap and prints with voids in top, flat surfaces). We are looking for roughly a 10" bed max and looking to keep the price around $1000, but can go higher if it means better precision. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Hi,in manufacturing when I use the material removal simulation, a std.out file is generated in the working directoryIt also does this using Creo Parametric with default settings, and it is not possible to delete it while the program is open.I thinks in previous versions of Creo Parametric this file was not created.Is this normal or are there any setups to fix?Thanks Attachments file

Hello, I am programming large components using the Prismatic & Multi-Surface Milling and Complete Machining options. I am very close to the z limit of the machine. Retracts are a problem. I have a few questions if I may: 1. I am programming a 3 axis conventional milling sequence. Is it possible to use a retract plane that is not perpendicular to the tool centerline? 2. I have tried setting up a cylindrical retract plane. Is this allowed with conventional milling?I have read the help on this topic. I can define a cylindrical retract surface in the operation but not in the sequence. 3. If the retract direction has to be aligned with the tool centerline is there a way to limit the retract distance by defining a distance from the machined surface (following shape contours) at all locations - let's say one inch? I am using Creo Parametric - Release 4.0 (connected) Release 4.0 and DatecodeM150DXF Exports are not opening correctly in PCB makers' software. Another client was able to export it at M040 level and it imported fine. We are unable to revert to an older "M" version. Versions M100 and M150 both do not export these files correctly for them to open in Altium software.Another designer at our client was able to export the DXF layout with default DXF Export setting with Creo Parametric 4.0 M040 and import into Altium fine (title block displayed, no missing letters, numbers or symbols)When they tried to import the M100 or M150 exports from me (same settings), it was missing random letters, leaders were not aligned with the features they were to dimension, symbols were coming in as "~" for diameter and "n" for degrees. Title block did not import at all.

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) 7.0 7.0.3.0I have a round part with a "flow channel" that I am trying to rough out trying to pick mill. My work around is to use 4axis trajectory with full size ball endmills and axis shift tools paths.Any ideas? I have tried cutline however, Can only get the bottom of the radius pick milled.

Hello, I'm trying to estimate the build time by measuring the cross section area for each slice in a model, since I have an approximated melting-time/area [m²/s]. My idea were to use a plane which defines a section and from there measure the area, then move the plane one length unit and take a new measure. This would go on until the whole part/build is covered then save this data to a .csv or excel file. My question is: is it possible to write a script within Creo to do such thing or are there anyone with another suggestions? Thanks!
looking help about postprocessor ..it is a conversational PP of creo for TNC426 Heidenhain. the problem is ARC not generated in ZX plane by creo conversational PP of TNC426 please check pictures. in where the area of pp I need to investigate to resolve arc issue which is not on XY plane. right now any arc which is on the XY plane work well but as you saw the 3d trajectory path where the arc is on the ZX plane is not generated properly. I change CIRC_INTERPOLATION to POINTS_ONLY in trajectory sequence and the problem was resolved but I prefer to generate the code which is not on the x,y,z points base. regards
