New and old from Po Shen Loh

I need to evaluate MathCAD in its Elements form, but the only way to load up the application is with a 30 day trial of Prime. How can I manually deactivate that Prime license? I tried accessing my online account, but - as a trial user - I can't access the License portion of my online account. 

What revisions are required for Mathcad to provide a value for Fr for each value of Bb in the attached worksheet? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Please see attached worksheet (I'm using Prime 3.0).   I would like "fd()" to return only positive real results.   Is my problem perhaps that in function "fd()" that it cannot know whether or not the solved variable (x in this case) is real, imaginary or negative etc.?  And if this is the case is there a more appropriate or accepted way to filter out the unwanted results?   Thank you.

Hi,    I'm trying to solve the Differential equation of motion using the comand rkfixed, however I'm not getting.   The correct form to write the equation is in the captura in the attachment, but the Mathcad not solves it, just solve if the mass divide all terms (stiffiness and damper)   Can anyone help me please?  

I'm a Mathcad newbie and consider myself fortunate to have been able to generate a crude surface plot of a function of two variables. This plot may be spotlighted as part of a History Channel series episode that will begin shooting in about three weeks. As such I want it to appear as "professional"-looking as possible. I have several questions:[1] I want to "stretch" the plot in the y direction [range 0 to 4,000 feet] but have been stymied thus far. [Note: In a true-scale drawing of the plot, the y-direction side of the rectangle would be an order of magnitude longer than its x-direction counterpart. That’s obviously not achievable, but it would be nice to make the plot as narrow as possible.] PTC Mathcad Help, under Component Structure, states that “The plot area…displays the plot of the X and Y expressions defined in the Inputs area. You can use the component block handles to resize the chart area in the x, y, or both directions.” Problem is, I can’t find those handles.[2] Is it poss

Hello! I hope you all are having a wonderful evening/day/afternoon/night!   I am new to this forum so I'm not sure if I should post this here - I couldn't seem to find a better place to put this. I use MathCAD for Engineers without Borders work, and I have been using it for 3 years now. I have been updating and using 3 files primarily for our calculations. After half a year using these files, they suddenly have stopped doing math. Attached is a picture of one of the files.   As you can see, the text boxes are fine, but the actual mathboxes are opaque and do not do any math functions. When I try to type more math functions, it still does not work. When I open it in MathCAD express 6.0.0, I get the same result.  When my co-lead opens it in MathCAD Prime 3.1 or Express 6.0.0, she runs into the same problems.   When I open an entirely new file in MathCAD Prime 3.1, it works perfectly as MathCAD should be.   I have attached the files for your convenience.   Th

I can no longer select a part of an equation in Mathcad Prime 5 or 6..   With the cursor in an equation, pressing the space bar no longer selects an item in the equation. I used to be able to press the spacebar and select a variable. Repeated pressing of the spacebar extended the part of the equation being selected. Now pressing the spacebar with the cursor in an equation does nothing.   Pressing the left or right arrow key moves the cursor within the equation but pressing shift while using the arrow key does nothing. It used to select a portion of the equation.   Pressing shift while using the mouse to drag the cursor used to select a portion of the equation. Now it selects the whole equation.   I thought maybe my Mathcad 5.0 file was corrupted so I downloaded the trial version of Mathcad Prime 6.0 and have the same problem. BTW the trial version of 6.0 is useless. There is a big watermark diagonally across the page. It is so dark that in the confusion I can't see

I'm using a Given - Find block for an equation with multiple solutions. I'm trying to use an inequality sign "<" to force the solver to give me a solution in a certain range of values. The solver seems to ignore the inequality sign. Is this a bug? Does the Given Find block ignore inequality signs? Or am I doing something wrong?

I try adding 355.302°F+9°F which should equal 364°F. However, mathcad keeps giving me 823.972°F. It doesn't care if I use the variables or direct numbers.

I have a MathCAD 15.0 worksheet that calculates the moment and depth of embedment for a cantilevered pile and when I converted it to Prime 6.0.0.0, the "solve" command does not solve the equation that provides a solution in the MathCAD 15.0 worksheet.  I have tried toggling the Legacy Symbolic Engine option with no success.   I would appreciate a review of the attached worksheets and comments on how to set up the equations in Prime 6.0.0.0 to solve the equation.  The equation I am referring to is listed in Step 4 and is Dembed.   Thank you for your assistance.

Hello, we currently have several floating permanent/subscription licenses for Mathcad 15. Would this license work with Mathcad Prime or would we have to purchase separate licenses for it? Additionally, how would licensing work if we wanted to keep our network licenses for Mathcad 15 and also have network licenses for Mathcad Prime set up?   It has been hard to navigate finding information on this specifically, sorry if this has been posted already or if this is the incorrect location. I have used a regression line to find a curve fitting my datapoints.Now I want to know the lowest point on my curve and I am trying to find that by finding the point where the derivative of the regression line is 0.   So I made a formula g(a) using the results from the regress function (by refering to entries in the regress solution matrix). I can use this function correctly to plot the curve and to calculate results for different values of a. However when I want to get the derivative it gives me a formula including the regress function. Solving the derivative for 0 is impossible.   To check if I use the correct functions I also made a formula h(a). Basically the same as g(a), but now I have manually typed the results from the regress function in the formula, instead of linking to the regress solution matrix. Now I can get the derivative and solve for equal to 0. However this is not convenient if my datapoints change, because I have to manually update h(a) each time.   I

Hello,   I tried to calculate a matrices with a matrix that includes a variable with a set of numbers.  Putting an array instead of a constant number ( Vbat -->M1,1)  to the matrix the solver tells the error "This variable is undefined". Is it possible like I tried or is there another solution to calculate the same matrix again and again in an loop and set different given values, how to extract the results? I found some examples but I don´t know how to transfer to my problem.   Thank you
