Mathcad

I am having trouble extracting elements of a nested array (that is the output of a program) for plotting. The bottom of the attached worksheet explains in more detail what I am trying to do.

In the attached Mathcad 15 work sheet an Excel component spreadsheet has been inserted.  The spread sheet has a Visual Basic program that uses input from cells on sheet1 and outputs a result in cell E11.  Mathcad is to calculate the input variables and assign them to cells E4 to E9.  Then Mathcad is to read the result from Excel in cell E11 for use in the remainder of the Mathcad worksheet.The problem is it doesn't work.  Mathcad presents an error message that says "invalid cell ranges" and then locks up Mathcad.  The spreadsheet outside of Mathcad works perfectly?Is there something wrong with the way I'm trying to integrate the two programs?  Is there something wrong with the cell references?I didn't write the VBA program in the Excel worksheet.  It may be simpler to convert the program to a Mathcad program but I'm not conversant with VBA programming to do this.  Would appreciate help it the problem above can't be fixed.The lookup routines shoul

Hi, I have been trying to get a while loop to augment multiple matrices, previously defined globally,  until convergence is reached. I then want to access these matrices outside of the loop to perform further calculations. I have been having no luck, and am not even sure if I have defined the loop correctly to draw from the global variables. If you have any ideas, i would be incredibly appreciative.Thanks so much,

Hi everyone,I need to resolve a 1-variable equation into a function. For that, I want to use the function 'Trouver', which might be 'Find' in English, to resolve my equation.The problem is that the function 'Trouver' is 'unknown' when I use it into my own function.'Soit' means 'Suppose that'.Does anyone as an idea of what's wrong in my function ?TIA

Just downloaded the free trial of PTC Mathcad 4.The tutorial asks to download the "data_files..zip" file.I can't find it on the PTC web page.Can anyone tell where/how I can find and download the data fiel?Thanks,

I am currently using Prime 3.1 to solve a simple equation as given in my mathcad sheet.My defined equation works to return correct values with the correct units. However using it to solve the equation for a single variable returns that there are no solutions.Yet I should be able to get back a solution around 950 (verified by graphing in excel).I am not too used to using this solve function in prime as usually I'd use the solve in Mathcad 15. Can someone more experienced just double check to see f I am doing anything incorrect ?

G'day,There seems to be a bug in Mathcad 4.0 where it just loses pagination and things creep above the page break line.I've spent about an hour trying to fix a many page document only to hit save and they randomly creep up again.Is there a solution for this?Thanks,Wade

Hello guys, I have a few question about general functions of MathCAD:1. I found that when using Excel Component, the whole length of Excel table has a specific upper-bound (about 1.5 times of an A4 page). If I extend the length size over this limit, the words in the cells will be deformed and the displaying rows may not increase. This issue makes me unable to show a length Excel table in once, I have to separate the table to multiple Excel components.2. How can I access the page number and chapter title to automatically generate a table content like in MS Word?3. The height of Header and Footer are fixed, I can't add more tables/pictures/words under the default height.Are there any solution about these issues?Thanks!!

I have one Mathcad worksheet for interpolation.  It works fine on a set of sparse data in the DATA 1.xls file, but the interpolation fails for the more dense data in the DATA 2.xls file.  I don't think I have any duplicate data points; however, it indicates that one of the arrays in the interpolation is not in ascending order for the more dense data.  I cannot find any errors in the data.  Here is an image of the error message.  The two Mathcad 15 worksheets are attached along with the data files (one for each Mathcad sheet): one for the sparse data and one for the more dense data that produces an error.  I don't understand why it works for one set of data and not the other when the only difference is the number of data points.  Any suggestions.

Hi!Maybe today it is much too hot and I have drunk too little water and coffee, but i can't find a stable solution for a defined problem:I have to solve a mechanical problem (dimensioning steel cables) with the solve block including 18 equations with 18 unknowns:It is required that the length change, the number of threads and all forces, etc. are calculated with the solver.Please see the sketch (you can doubleclick the .exe file to view it, it's an e-drawing file) and worksheet in attach.The Problem is: I have as many equations as unknowns and when i change the guess values, i get always different results.Are my equations right, and do i define something double or contradictory?Any help will be appreciated.Thank you very much for your efforts.Volker

Dear Community:I am a very new user of MathCad, and I need help understanding the syntax of the linfit function.  (At least I think it's a syntax issue).I built a small worksheet to look at various curve fitting functions (it grew out of a need from a work related worksheet; I have hand entered some of the data and changed to units to make the example sheet self-contained).  I successfully parroted the linfit example for a quadratic fit (a*x^2+b*x+c), but I could not extend it successfully for a cubic fit (a*x^3+b*x^2+cx+d).  I could successfully build a cubic fit using polyc.I enclose the worksheet:Page 1: DataPage 2: Cubic SplinePage 3: Straight Line Page 4: Quadratic linfit (and polyc)Page 6: Cubic linfit (and polyc)         <---- This is where it goes wrongAny insights would be appreciated.Regards,Bob

Hello! I have a 2 graphs. I don't know how to calculate the area under the graph. Graph with red is half of a circle, and graph with black is defined by 3 functions. Normally, the graph area with red is higher than the graph area with black. Thank you for help!
