I'm developing 2d frame stiffness analysis.. im on the the final stage.. how to solve "This value must be an interger".. this will appear when i try to input the member force to excel component.
Hi,Can anyone help me for that.
I have an embedded excel, add an input variable and pass it to excel. In excel, in cell A1, I made a formula that uses the passed value as an argument in a Vlookup function to lookup in a table. Please see attach Mathcad file. But I find it strange that every time I input the value "1.5in" in variable 'd1' in Mathcad worksheet and passed it to excel, the Vlookup formula gets '#N/A' error. The passed value is obcourse a number because I divide the unit 'in' to the excel input. The same error occurs when I input "3in". But the rest of the values (1in, 1.5in, 2in, etc.) works fine. Also when I change the unit to "1.5ft" as shown on the second input 'd2' that goes to cell B1, the result in cell B2 works fine. Is this a bug in Mathcad?
Hi all,In my code which I attached below,I am getting a straight line in the middle, while plotting G_ca vs V_caHow can I remove the straight line occurring in the middle of the plot between G_ca vs V_ca.I attached my code below. Please help me.Thanks.
I am using the ctrl+enter feature to make my equations fit on one page. every time I need to factor it spreads it back out across 5 pages and I have to do it again. is there a feature to keep the original format of the equation?
I am plotting a tensile test plot of concrete. It suppose to look like a triangle. from 0 to max value f't and then come down to zero again. The left positive slope should be elastic modulus E and the right slope (negative slope) should be the same elastic modulus but divided by 10. I have already did the function but I see a step coming down in the triangle that should not be there. Can any one tell me what I am missing or doing wrong? Thank you.

Hi I want to let lambda be = 1 if normal or 0.75 lightweight. how can I prepare a simple input like this so when I do a calc I specify either normal or lightweight . can any one tell me what is the best way to put this? thanks
Hi,I have (what I think) is a simple mathcad problem. I only have very basis knowledge in mathcad. Not sure if I put this post in the correct discussion board I need to solve the equation below with n=[4......10]. The range, n ,may variy from time to time so next time it could be n=[5.......25]. I have set it up and I can find Pc by just entering e.x n=6 but I would be nice to have a automatic iteration process.I want Pc to return values for:Pc[n=4] = ?Pc[n=5] = ?....Pc[n=10] = ?How can i set this up properly in mathcad. I have version 15. Is there a simple way? Keep in mind that I am a very basic user of mathcad Thomas
Hi all,I'm getting an error for an Excel component table. When I click on it to open Excel and edit the values I get the following error: "Excel is busy; can't activate Excel. Make sure that cells are not being edited in Excel and try again in a few seconds." I don't have anything opened in Excel and I've closed out both programs and restarted my computer. Is this a corrupt Excel component?

The various equations for finding required Cv for valve sizing contain what look like dimensional constants that depend on the units chosen. For example:But, I'm having trouble using this equation in Mathcad, since I don't know what is included in the constant 63.4 and I don't know if Cv should have any units or not. Anybody have any experience or ideas? Please see the worksheet attached. Thanks for any help you can lend.
I created a 2D plot for two dependant variables and one independant variables. The plot is for dowel bearing strengths of wood loaded parallel and perpindicular to grain. The actual values loaded parallel to the grain vary from 3400 psi to 9000 psi and those perpindicular to grain vary from 1500 psi to 6250 psi. The mathad plot shows them as 10,000,000 to 40,000,000 psi

Tough question:I am making a mathcad file where i want to see the influence of the traffic load on the structure. According to NEN-EN-1991-2 (Trafficloads on bridges)The selfweight part is easy, cause it is depending on the chosen structure. But the question is: How to determine the Moment and Shear distribution in such a way that different load cases can show the influence to the (different) beam configurations.Where the difficult part will be the freedom to apply different load combinations and different beam configurations.I hope you have an idea what i want and that you are able to help me.
Units in romanI challenge anyone to find a scientific paper or a book in any science or engineering discipline, published by a reputable company, in which units are shown in italics. Please let me know if you find one! In state-of-the-art publishing, units are printed in roman (upright and not bold).“The International System of Units”, now adopted throughout the world, specifies which units to use and how to write them. Defined in the SI Brochure , it is clear on the subject:Chapter 5: Writing unit symbols and names, and expressing the values of quantitiesUnit symbolsUnit symbols are printed in roman (upright) type regardless of the type used in the surrounding text. They are printed in lower-case letters unless they are derived from a proper name, in which case the first letter is a capital letter. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, has published “The NIST Guide for the use of the International System of Units”, whic
I want to find torque from standard power forumla p=2piNT/60 i tried like p=10kwn=50 rpmhow to find T Without making equation relating torque likeT=p*60/(2piN)
Dear Mathcad Helper,As shown in the attached sheet, I am trying to solve a non-linear system with 2N+5 equations. Among the 2N+5 equations, there are N+1 equations for one type of conditions, N+1 equation for another type of conditions and 3 individual separate equations. The number of unknowns is 2N+5. The unknowns are grouped in one (N+1)-vector, one N-vector and another 3 separate unknowns. Here are two questions:Is there a way to use correctly the range variable “i” in order to formulate in a compact manner the two types of conditions? I have difficulties with the range variable “i”.Is the regrouping of unknowns within multiple separate arrays (i.e. B and η) legal within a Find function? If not, what would be a nice solution? Note: So far, the only one way I have been able to solve (partially) the non-linear equation system is to defined N as a single integer value, to explicitly write all 2N+5 equations one by one, and
Microsoft Excel blamed for gene study errors - BBC News Researchers trying to raise awareness of the issue claim that the spreadsheet software automatically converts the names of certain genes into dates. ... The researchers claimed the problem is present in "approximately one-fifth of papers" that collated data in Excel documents. The trio, writing for the Melbourne-based academic institute Baker IDI, scanned 3,597 published scientific papers to conduct their study. They found 704 of those papers contained gene name errors created by Excel. Ewan Birney, director of the European Bioinformatics Institute, does not blame Excel and told the BBC: "What frustrates me is researchers are relying on Excel spreadsheets for clinical trials." The Excel gene renaming issue has been known among the scientific community for more than a decade, Birney added. He recommended that the program should only be considered for "lightweight scientific analysis". Sounds like a Mathcad opportunity to me ...
I have a file done on version 14 and I try opening it on version 15. I's grayed out unless I zoom in like 200%. Is there any button under some menu turned on and I don't know about it? Any help'd be appreciated.Thanks.
