Mathcad

Hi, I am doing an integral in mathcad prime. The function inside of the integral is a summation of series of if statement functions and a step function (for loop).  I plotted the integral twice (see attached figures), one with a TOL of 0.01  and one with a TOL of 0.1. However, the peak values along the graph are not the same at the same depth and I don't know why they are different since I am integrating the same function. However, the function stops at the same point (where the Moment is 0 kip*ft) at the very bottom.  I am wondering why the peak values are different by changing the tolerance. Thank you.

Hello PTC Community,I'm currently working on a project related to heat exchangers, specifically focusing on an economizer. I've attached some temperature characteristic curves showing the temperature profiles for both co-current and counter-current flow arrangements. However, I'm having difficulty adjusting the axes for both the x-axis (distance) and y-axis (temperature) to improve clarity and presentation.What I Need:Guidance on how to adjust the x-axis and y-axis scales appropriately to represent the temperature profiles effectively.Any tips on ensuring that the axes align properly with the temperature values and flow direction for better visualization.Your insights and advice would be greatly appreciated!i have added a mathcad prime file and a screenshot from my book, Thank you in advance for your help!Best regards,Michael

Hi, all.  I have just started using Mathcad. The problem below is driving me crazy. Any idea why it is giving me the wrong output?  See below. I have also attached the Mathcad file. Incorrect answer:Correct output: RegardsCP  

If you click on License under Options in Prime, a host ID is also displayed. I was of the opinion that this is the MAC address, called 'primary' by PTC, for which the current license was generated.But apparently there is some confusion here and it is a constantly changing fantasy MAC!!? I can't believe that this is intentional behavior, which is why I classify it as a bug. I am not sure but i think that in older versions of Prime the correct MAC was shown, the one the license was created for. I recently had to generate a new license and had it created for the one that was displayed. Of course this license file did not work. This was quite annoying, as license management is not exactly one of the easiest features on the PTC support sites and it took me some time and effort to finally move the license to the correct MAC.  

Hi there, I have this plot which has ( x, y ) and A and B are points in this plot>>> I want to show this point in different colour and then draw the vector of them ABand then I have  another x and y ( x;cpt , y;cpt different values) I want to show point C,cpt in the same previous plot then draw the vector component of AB and C,cptthe result should look something like this:not necessarily the same ,but I need to show the vectors Thanks in advanceprime 9 

I have an input matrix from actual test data, where I have taken out 5 test dataset(Speed and 5 pressures), showing first line belowI now want to do some calculations, get all the differntial pressures for example : I know i can do like this: but it would be much nicer to display the result as a table with proper colum headers and units, how can i achieve this?  

I have data in excel and I want to copy that data and use as matrix in Mathcad prime ? Is this something possible how can I do that? Let's say I have 10 rows and 100 columns and want to copy paste it in matrix is there a simpler way? Due to the nature of data I am unable to share here if anyone has a sample data to show me how that can be done it would be great!

I recently upgraded my c:/ drive and Mathcad no longer runs. It fails the license. I get a message "The license you have requested contains an error." When I run the .licensing setup wizard I get a server error of 403 Forbidden. It was working fine prior to the SSD upgrade. Please help!

I have Mathcad 9.0 but bought the Prime 10 Student edition. I'm trying to upgrade/activate the license. Do I need to uninstall the 9.0 and install the 10?Also I never received my product code. I received the payment confirmation email where it stated "You will receive detailed information on the delivery in a separate e-mail that was sent at the same time as this e-mail." However, I never received a separate email. I can't find a place to submit a ticket. The only place I can find for support requires a product code.

Hi I am new to Mathcad Prime and I'm trying to solve a kinematics problem, and I really need help. I want to multiply 3 nested arrays, but in step 4 I encountered the error "These arrays elements must be scalars. They cannot be vectors or matrices." I suspected it was because they are nested arrays, so I tried to convert the nested array H1 into a matrix with a code I found online and now I encountered the error "This value must be a vector,"Any help is appreciatedThank you

I have been using mathcad for many years, its been my go to software to help me think and sort out problems. Very recently I moved to Mathcad prime 3. I am unbelievably dissapointed. Yes it looks pretty , but its so hard to do anything. I wanted to display arrays as a picture , as I have done for many years. You cant do this. You have to save the data to a file, then read in the file in to a picture which has browsed a filename. then it does not update when you change the data in the file. Its awful and unusable in this application. I have had to revert to a pre prime version as this actually does what I need it to do. I cant believe we are on prime 3 and this is not sorted out.Help doesn't work either. Prime really is a backward step and I would not recommend it to anyone - are you listening PTC. I have colleagues who feel exactly the same. If anyone can suggest how to view 2D arrays as pictures in a usable way I would like to find out.

Hello everyone,in the attached file, the program should loop through length of dS and store the values in RA. could someone explain me, why the loop is not workingattached the Mathcad 10 file.

I am having trouble understanding why I can't get a solution using the defined variables but am able to get one when I put in a value for the variable.  My issue arises because the values X, Y and Z depend on Twall.  I want to be able to loop this with an update to Twall at each dt.  Any help would be appreciated. mathcad prime9 .    

I want to show a formula as a step for reverence, not have MaffCad try and solve it,Can't see how to do it, there must be a simple way to add a formula like a text box?

I am encountering an error while configuring the trial license for Mathcad Prime 10.The error says: "... (-103) Cannot checkout an uncounted license within a Windows Terminal Services guest session."FYI, I am running the software locally (not remotely).

Let me tell you a story.  Once upon a time, perhaps even 10 minutes ago, when writing a new function (Bidiagonal) and testing it with strings, I replaced a direct function call argument with a predefined vector but forgot to remove the original function's argument.  After a few seconds of gazing at the (correct) output from Bidiagonal, I realised that the notation V(3) for vector V should have raised an error, but it didn't.    After a bit of playing with a new, blank worksheet, I confirmed that to get an array's elements, one can use the standard subscripted index notation Mi,j or the standard programming language parenthesis notation M(i,j). And Little Red Riding Hood and Peter campaigned for a better public understanding of wolves, their role in ecology, and their treatment.     I have a vague, dusty, indistinct memory of coming across this notation before, perhaps even on this forum, but I'm not sure - it might be a case of déjà vu.   Stuart

I am part of the Mott MacDonald IT team.We are in the process of transitioning to MathCAD Prime 10, as we have been informed that MathCAD 15 and MathCAD Prime 8 are reaching their end of life and will no longer be supported.Could you please provide more information on the support lifecycle of these products? This will help us proceed with the removal of the older versions of MathCAD and MathCAD Prime.Thank you.
