Hi I post this question before but I think I did not label Electrical Engineering but Knowledge base instead. I moving this question to Electrical Engineering Question: Is there a way to substitute a symbol into a symbolic question to simplify the symbolic equation further? Thanks a lot for all the helps rdliquid
I have a perpetual license for Mathcad prime 3.1 student edition and I have a new computer so I need to download the software again. This is the second time i'm trying this, the first time I got an email with a link but it didn't solve my problem.
Regarding Mathconnex, Does JRE 8 Update 181 required for this software?
Hello! Is there a way to find an intersection point on a graph between 1) 2 lines and 2) between a line and a marker? NOTE: We can do this by setting up equations of the lines and thus find & plot the point. I just want to know if there is an alternative in Mathcad. Best regards, Sergey
Hello! I want to plot a total deformation diagram such that it is a sum of two deformations caused by two different forces. While plotting I get the following error message: There are too many range variables. I think that it is strange since I use three sets of traces, where each trace set corresponds to one deformation only. May somebody, please, assist me with the proper construction of described diagram? Best regards, Sergey
it says that i have reached the maximum number of license request available however i did not get any license before
Hi, I'm using the Mathcad Prime 4.0 free version. The programm was working perfectly fine, but now when I try to run the program it doesn't work anymore. The mathcad logo appears, but then it disappears again and a main window never shows up. Then if I check the Task Manager, I can see that the program is running in the background. I already tried to reinstall mathcad but it also doesn't work.
Hi all, I must preface this by saying that I am brand-new to MathCAD and know not much. I tried a few different things to tackle this issue myself. However, it seems like I need a new perspective. The bold portion is the rough program. I have n=0,1,... t(n) := t(n-1)+c while t(n)<6*R F(n)=F(n-1)+....[other system parameters that don't involve 'n'] 'c' is a constant and not a matter of worry. 'n' will keep incrementing until t(n)=11*R [R is another constant, but will be changed according to the system parameters. So, R=1 in one case and R=300 in other cases; user-defined] I am not sure how to define 'n' and t(n). They are interdependent and the few things I tried have been unsuccessful so far. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance. -- Thanks and regards
Hello All,I just started chapter 2 on my finite element analysis textbook. I would like to start with using Prime/Mathcad for FEM computations. Where do I go to begin this process? Is there a tutorial you came across for FEM using prime?Any relevant answers in addition to the questions welcome.dd//
The cockroach needs to run from start (from different positions of the start line) to finish-line in minimum time.On the field of running there is a section in the form of a circle (see Fig.), where the running speeddiffers by V1> V2 or V1 <V2.Which route (trace) from the start line to the finish line should the cockroach use from different positions? Better to get numerical, symbolical and plot solution (with animation!).
Hi,Does anybody know how to save a Mathcad sheet in PDF form? Using Save As.., in Prime 2 I only see the file type xps and in Version 15 I see html but no pdf anywhere. Thanks for any hint.Alfred
Please help. I am not sure why it is complaining about the units. Both numerator and denominator are in Ohms zd1(s) ---> Ohms (numerator) s*L1 ---> Ohms (denominator)
I tried already many times to activate the licence but it keeps on failing. The following error appears: 11.09.2020 15:40:53 : Die Lizenzanfrage ist fehlgeschlagen. Requesting MATHCAD ... Hi folks, I'm trying to define custom units in Mathcad Prime 6.0, but for some reason I don't seem to be able to. I define the unit as a variable and then try to change the label to "Unit", but Mathcad doesn't keep the change. I used to do this in previous versions within a nanosecond, now it doesn't seem to be working, so I'm wondering if this is a bug in the software or I'm missing something... Anyway, just putting it out there to see if anyone has faced this issue with Prime 6.0. Thank you! J.

I am trying to plot the acoustic mode shapes inside a cylindrical pipe. The equation is in cylindrical coordinates in attached Mathcad file. Any assistance would be appreciated.. Thanks Ross
Fixed-Point Iteration for nonlinear systems of equations - my Mathcad alghoritm doesn't work Hello, I try to make my Mathcad alghoritm to work for a nonlinear system by using Fixed-Point Iteration . Unfortunately still I cannot get the results. Something is missing in my script. I attached my Mathcad file. The results whould look finally like this (I obtained it in Excel in order to compare the results if possible): It xold yold x y errx erry errf10 errf20-----------------------------------------------1 2.0000 4.0000 1.4142 6.0828 0.5858 2.0828 0.6023 23.75692 1.4142 6.0828 1.6132 7.3348 0.1990 1.2520 3.2299 9.45173 1.6132 7.3348 2.4150 6.9238 0.8018 0.4109 4.8888 38.85024 2.4150 6.9238 3.2743 5.6438 0.8593 1.2800 1.
What are the (key) differences between Mathcad 11 and Mathcad 15 (e.g. in terms of capabilities, etc)? And what's your opinion about Mathcad vs other mathematics software packages like Matlab, Maple or Wolfram Mathematica?
The installation on Windows 10 failed. Is there any chance to be installed on this OS ?
Hello,I encountered a problem with the Bode Diagrams...How can correct the Phase Plot of the Bode Diagrams for a system which has, for example and simplicity, two poles in origins? The Phase Plot shows that the system has a +180 degree which is not correct. The system should have a -180 degree.Thank you.
How to plot complex impedances where it is a product of 2 complex functions Impedances of a capacitor Zc = 1/s*c(s) and the unit is Farad where s is the Laplace Domain variable = 1j*w = 1j*2*pi*frequency in my case, c(s) is the capacitance but is a function of s I want to plot the magnitude of Zc = {[Re(Zc)]^2+[I'm(Zc)]^2}^0.5 versus frequency If Zc is evaluated with "=", the result returns a scalar I asked PTC helps and they said it is because I have 2 vectors multiplied together, so it returns a scalar. They recommend to vectorize the Zc expression but if you do that, it return a complex impedances of 1000 frequencies (the # of points I have), and then find a way to convert the 1000 complex impedances into the magnitude of each of the 1000 complex impedances. My question is: Why do I have to vectorize the Zc expression? Is there another way to do it that does not need to vectori
I am trying to fit data to a "First Order Plus Dead Time" model. I can optimize the fit by using the solution to the FOPDT equation, but, simply as an intellectual exercise, I would like to also be able to do this using the FOPDT differential equation. I have Python code that can do this (it takes an incredibly long time to run; I would guess that Mathcad would take much more time). The nub problem of the problem as I see it, is that I think I need an optimization solve block to do the least squares fit which, in turn, then needs to call an odesolve solve block with parameters. I quickly realized that I don't have a clue as to how to do this, and I haven't found any "parameterized solve block" examples that return odesolve solutions. Attached are my Prime 6 worksheet, text file of data, and PDF of worksheet. Many thanks, Roger Gunwaldsen
Hello. I have a problem with charts. Everything works fine in Mathcad 14 but in Prime 3.0 i have an error like below:Mathcad Prime 3.0 Mathcad 14 Is this a problem with if-else instruction or something? Can you help me?
