Mathcad

I am trying to simulate RC Circuit with Pulsed Input. I am getting small notch at the transition, Which goes away at high tau values.   I am new to mathcad,Please provide insights.   Regards,   Shiv  

Hi,   I've got a simple question:   When I multiply two variables(mm x N), the result always is in Joule (energy), but I want it to always be in Nm (torque): a:=5mm b:=100N c:=a*b=0,5J   I know, that its possible to change the Unit from J by manually typing "N*m". But to do this in every line is not very nice. I don't use the unit joule at all. Is there a way to set N*m as the default unit in Express 4?   Thanks, Maik  

Hi,   Very new user of MathCad here, so I really need some help.   I am trying to create a continuous worksheet with geometrical optics formulas and calculations. Basically, I would like to have a bunch of formulas defined in the first pages of the worksheet (with comments, etc.), and then to have sections with calculations for various cases. For example, say I define the lensmaker's equation, and then 10 pages later I would like to have a calculation where all the variables are defined and MathCad would give the correct value for lens power. I understand that this is pretty straightforward, I could just use global definition for the equation, then define each parameter, and finally evaluate the result. And if I am not mistaken, I could also do this multiple times in the same worksheet, that is globally define the equation in the beginning and then define parameters for various cases and evaluate the result for each one.   But the thing is that I would also like to be ab

Hello,   when I use solve, is there any way to hide/format the solve output? Namely, printing "->  24.109V" in the following example instead of the crazy fractional output that bloats the document and reduces it's readability?     Thank you all.

I'm solving for unknowns and I thought I could just pick a range for the variables and brute force method a solution. I defined the two variables over a range and called the function and it returns an error that doesn't come up in a google search so I'm at a loss currently. Any help is appreciated.   Trip

I am trying to solve a system of equations but I have 3 knowns. When I try to define the knowns, if I use a subscript, I get the error message: "these units are not compatible" or: "the variable is undefined. Check that the label is set correctly."   I've defined variables and knowns with subscripts before and I don't know what I am doing wrong. Thanks for the help.   PS: This is a continuing post from an earlier problem and I keep on running into new and exciting problems 🙂  

Hi,I have used quite a lot of the functions in mathcad, however for the first time I have to output some data into excel from mathcad.I have a graph with two variables (x and y axis)I want to input one of the variables in column A and the other in column B.I have attached the file as well.Any help will be much appreciated!

Hi    What is CWD setting in mathcad ?

  As in the picture, when I compute X the first time, I didn't put any units(because there is no unit), and it gave me error. I resolve the problem by put its unit as lbf/lbf, which is also unitless, same as previous, but now it worked. Why does this occur? Also, if I would like to change the result unit in the matrix, is there a way to do it? Or I can only do it explicitly.

KVL states that the same sense sum of voltages added around a closed loop is zero; at all times by inference. I think that this also implies the same zero summation for the rates of change. Am I wrong?   I have been a working engineer for 60+ years and I know that I might be forgetful! While re-writing a patent application it occurred to me that this was a valid understanding.   Any comments would be helpful.     John Archer.

Hello! Can we use the infix notation for a function name in Prime? For Example, I want to create a function for parallel resistors    and use it for the circuit element by typing R1 || R2  for example. It was possible in Mathcad 15. Attached the sample from Mathcad 15.

Hey all,I need some urgent help.I was working on my state exam project, opened the file this morning and edited something on it and saved. While i was saving, my PC suffered a blue death. I turned on my laptop back on a few minutes later to continue working,  and am now getting an error saying :   The file is not supported, the log file is : .... etc.. Is there a way to recover my damaged file from death? I have lots of important work on the document and I cannot afford to start over! Unfortunately i did not have a backup file ... Thank you , Balazs!     

Hi i know this is really basic ,im starting to learn how to use Mathcad 15. Im trying to replicate a pdf document that used Mathcad , but i cant plot the graph of the signal i pointed , its the Fourier transform of an entry signal.   What should i put on Y axis and X axis?  , im pretty sure the document used only what is on this  Mathcad file. "help_mathcad15" is the Mathcad file and "Graph" is an image of what im supposed to get.   please help a newb :s

I'm frustrated   trying to simplify   results from   symbolic   engine (new or legacy). i have tried multiple symbolic   options.   For some reason, if I go in and   manually do an   equate, stuff sort of works? Prime 6 file.

See please the attach - Prime 6. Why in case 1 we have rank = 4 but in case 2 we have rank = 5?  

In the use of hexadecimal numbering, Mathcad gives an error when I use the hexadecimal number C, which is normally a unit of measurement and also for c which is the speed of light, the same for F. What should I do to avoid falling into error ?

Hello, I'm starting my adventure with Mathcad. I have two the same files written in Mathcad 14 and Mathcad Prime 3.0.But it only works well in Mathcad 14 and I don't understand why.  In Prime 3.0 when i trying to plot the graph i have: "Plotting failed. Replace complex values and NaNs by real numbers." I noticed that there are many people with similar problems. I have read all topics related to it and I still don't know what is wrong with my file. Can you help me?
