Hi. In my book about mathcad i have a formula (upper image), and i was try write this formula in mathcad (lower image). But result does not match. Maybe i lose some arguments?
Hello, Everyone. From : Thanks in advance.
Is there an option that would allow to hide the unsightly "Collapsed Region" lines when printing a report from Mathcad?Haven't found one and now have to fit the collapsed regions on their own pages which can then be removed from the printout. Was hoping for something less cumbersome.Maybe the lines show as deletable images if exporting to Word? But would rather avoid the Word editing step if at all possible, and go directly to PDF.Thank you.
Hello, Everyone. Thanks in advance.
How is the following possible in Mathcad? I can not even type (S2 = S1) within the equation. Thanks.
Hello, Everyone. From : Thanks in advance.
Tring to use a matrix to calculate velocity with 360 degrees, manual angle setting gives the correct velocities but the matrix does not give the same values and they change depending on the size of the matrix. I have tried several things to get it to work but no luck.
Hello, I have used Mathcad to plot an image of a Gaussian beam I obtained from a camera. Obviously the camera has pixels, each with its own pixel value that represents part of the Gaussian beams intensity. When I plot this intensity image in a 3D plot in Mathcad it displays a plot in the same dimensions as the camera image, but the data has been 'smoothed' out and now represents a more ideal Gaussian beam profile (rather than a pixelised one seen on the camera image). My questions are: How is this smoothing of the camera image done? How representative is this of the actual beam incident on the camera? I have attached pictures of the camera image and the Mathcad contour plot (from 3D plot). I am unable to provide a data sheet as my workplace prohibits it. All I have done is import the saved data of the camera image and asked Mathcad to display it using a 3D plot. I am new to Mathcad, so understanding how this works will be a gre
I decided to start a new topic about the future version 5.0. Based on the new timeline (was dated February 2017), the release is scheduled for early 2018 year. And there is nothing new about the planned features of the 5.0 release. Old thread "PTC Mathcad Prime Roadmap (2015/2016 update)": https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad-Blog/PTC-Mathcad-Prime-Roadmap-2015-2016-update/ba-p/446448
Hi, I'm using mathcad prime, and I'm working with a beam subjected to a uniform distributed load, supported at two points. I'm managed to calculate Reactions and also plot Shear and Moment. I'm having trouble finding minimum/maximum values for my Shear and Moments, I tried to use the max function but did not succeeded. Any help on how can I get the maximum and minimum values of the referred functions within the range of xx?
Hi all, First time user so unaware if this is the kind of problem that can be solved using this forum. However, what I am looking to do is to create a template for bearings design and sizing on electric motors. The template will allow variables/inputs to be inserted by the user and it to then give an output of what type of bearing should be used (plain/rolling element etc.) for this type of electric motor and what size of bearings should be used. The kind of inputs I have had in mind are load, motion, lifespan and speed but open to suggestions. I have struggled to find info on any bearing design standards or motor design standards that would help. Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated. Joe
Gents, Hope all of you are good. I have one more question, and as always this kind of stuff get complex only when I do it. Under procedure I get some values in zero, which then needs to be divided. However in my case it would simply mean that this portion of the result shall not influence and it needs to get out of the equation (simply wave effect is not applicable after certain depth). Please note, this attached sheet is simplified to show what I need to do, original one is 15 pages so far. So I'm trying to make some kind of loop which shall state if there is no valid result from above step, return 1. Looked throe the manual and this forum, but can't find nothing, It looks like I runned into software limitation (due to fact that is not logical what I want to do).. Thank you in advance.
by Franceso OnoratoAbout this worksheet:This PTC Mathcad calculation shows how to design a warehouse based on a steel beam structure. Truss design is commonly taught in engineering courses, but based on a hand calculations approach. Instead, this worksheet uses a robust and error-checking method that can be performed automatically and repeatedly.Download and explore this worksheet yourself! I am preparing a Mathcad V15 computation for Electric Fields at given points across a power line corridor. Long ago I created one with a limited number of circuits (1) and wires (5) that processes correctly. The problem requires consideration of the effects of x energized wires at each point k in the corridor and time position b. The process is to compute charge and then electric field from each of x wires at each k over all b, sum over all x wires, then select the maximum values of EX and EY at each k. My early slim computation used brute force to eliminate the x dimension of wires. So I would create QM1 = QM[1 for the charge say and have a function QM1[b,k]. This requires creating a separate equation for each QM, one per wire. My programming effort is aimed at allowing variable input via a matrix and automatically processing the necessary equations to compute an answer. My problem is getting the new programs to work through the three variables.
Greetings. The code (painted red on the worksheet) is delayed when I change the data, I would like to know if there is any way to lighten it. Also, I do not know if there is any way to create a function that when entering the data (painted with blue in the worksheet), get the results "Reactions" (painted in yellow on the worksheet) -that would help me a lot - or also some way to keep the code waiting until you enter the data. The code that I programmed is to find the "fixed end moments" of distributed loads, until now I have only checked it with the cases that appear in the sheet in screenshots.
i am using a table for various parameters used in later calculations. It all seems to be working well until page 5 of 8 where the error message "this value must be a scalar" is displayed for 2 of the calculations. Being relative new to mathcad i have not been able to find a solution to solve this error. any assistance would be appreciated.
Hi, I'm trying to solve following system of non linear equations. Can someone help me to put it in the correct form? I'm not familiar yet with Prime 4.0 and the different solvers. Thanks a lot.
First I am working on editing a program I worked in the past on Mathcad 15 that exports all answers to Excel. One issue my team has been complaining about is that, in order to get the program to export all answer you need to scroll to the bottom of the Mathcad (which is somewhere around 144 pages). I'm wondering if there is a command that I can add to make Mathcad do all the equations in the worksheet without scrolling?
Hi,I need to expand or collapse an area in Mathcad 15 using excel vba.. Is it possible.. Need help.?
Team, Hope you can help me with one more question. I was solving on-bottom stability and I'm stucked on aproximation of the integral of the function. There are many ways how to solve this Trapezoidal rule, SImpson's rule etc.. so any of those would be great (but not sure how to program any of them). Can you please check this spreadsheet and help me. Basicly I'm not sure how to call for even/uneven numbers based on the defined gamma. Thank you AS
It is one animation of the task "Pendulum-chain" for my article "Games with Chain". See please the Russian variant of the article. and Mathcad 15 sheet in attach! But I have some question: 1. Do you know some descriptions and solutions of this problem? 2. Can you help me to use not a X-Y plot but a polar plot for the solution and for an illustrations? 3. Can we think about a symbolic solution? 4. Can we have better initial conditions for the not crazy numerical solution and for more nice moving of the Pendulum-chain? Thank you!
I grabbed this code from an old posting and converted it to 4.0. It does what it is supposed to do - generate random unique integers. But there is a problem - if I request a dataset longer than the max value it never finishes - just crunches for ever. (in Prime or 15) I can't figure out why it would do that. Anyone see the fix? (or have another tool that generates unique integers?)
Greetings. I can not get my "Ncoor" function to work, his work is the same as the program on the right (which has "x3i y3i" as a result), but I can not store the result in "x4i y4i" (as seen in the sheet ). In summary what is expected is that the vectors x3, y3 should be equal to x4, y4 (as verification), but made with a function, where the value of "af" can change. As well:The program is used to find the coordinates of a figure given a line (given by the value "af") that cuts the figure from above, the problem is that I never get the first point (0,0) that should be (0.263, 0.7) m, for this case of coordinates, and for any case of coordinates it takes the value of the last point. Only those two questions, thank you.
Greetings friends of the forum. I have the following query: I need to symbolically simplify the following function. Using the following operators that I know of, I do not get a simplified answer: Writing the function exponentially, I also do not get a correct answer: Working in parts if I get the answer: There is some symbolic operator or modifier that allows me to calculate without doing it in parts???? I appreciate any suggestions or help.
Hi everyone, for a second time I’ll ask for your help, I still working on a particle retention research and I would be really thankful if someone could help me out with this. Let me explain the situation: I need to solve an equation that allows me to match experimental data to the Filippov model and here begins the problems, the experimental data represents a discrete distribution for particle and pore size distribution, but the Filippov model used a continuous log-normal distribution function for particles and bilog-normal distribution function for membrane pores, I’ve been trying to use the “dlnorm” function from Mathcad but I suppose that something is wrong because it doesn’t work like it supposed to do. I’ve been reading a paper that claims to solve the integro-diffrential equations for flux J(t) and for the injected volume V(t), this paper however, does not give much detail about it. Thank you in advance, I am open to advices related to this particular challenge.
