Mathcad

Hi everybodyI usually use Combo boxes in mathcad 15, bu t the problem is that if you choose something in there even after you save your file , the combo box selection will back to the default when you open it again ( because of script behind it)for example in below image what should I write in script to keep my choose before last save?any help in this regards will be highly appreciatedThanks

HiWe use MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) exclusively for reports and use OLE to insert Mathcad 15 objects into documents since they must be achieved in a Laboratory Information System database which would not know what to do with a Mathcad document or how to view it.  Looking at migrating to Mathcad prime 4.0 and there seems to be no OLE functionality natively in the product. Is OLE some feature that needs to be enabled or an add-on that needs to be installed? I did see some sort of add-on for Excel OLE download, but have not tried it. At first look I already hate Mathcad Prime 4.0 due to the totally new UI, but could get used to that if I had too. If it does not natively support OLE with other Windows programs it would appear to be totally useless in the real world, where Microsoft Office is a standard. I am hoping that PTC has not made the marketing mistake of not making Mathcad Prime OLE compatible and instead  offering the free Mathcad Express version hoping their

This is in relation to the product idea: Switch Statement in Mathcad Prime, that for some reason I cannot vote for (nor against), possibly because I have no active maintenance contract with PTC...The switch statement is not needed. Here's an example of the same functionality (in Mathcad 11, bet it works also and likewise in Mathcad 15 and Prime):Note that Mathcad (Prime alike) normally works with reals, possibly complex, or even vectors and matrices, rarely with integers.The only occasions where integers are required are in indexing vectors and matrices. I have created a Creo model using a Mathcad Prime external analysis that calculates a parametric Bezier-curve based upon Creo parameters. I am using the Bezier-curve to create specific geometry inside my model. The trouble I am having is that I always need to update/ regenerate my model twice for the geometry to change based upon the Creo parameters changing - the first regeneration updates the Mathcad analysis, the second one updates the geometry.Is there a way to force Creo to update/ regenerate the model until no further changes (neither Mathcad results nor subsequent geometry) occur.Thanks for any hint you might have to alleviate this issue.Kind regards,Carsten

How can I further simplify to display less cluttered output.

The display of an imaginary number lying on the negative side of the imaginary line is incorrect when set to decimal.  The negative sign seems to be omitted.  (General, Scientific, and Engineering all display correctly)

Hi,  I made a spreadsheet that are applicable only for 2 or more inputs . As you can see, when I  have a single case my spreadsheet  the error ask the value must be a vector. What should I add in the program, so that the spreadsheet will compute  even if I have  a single case only. 

I am using MathCad 15 and am working on some simple calculations to get used to the MathCad environment and syntax since I am pretty new to using MathCad.Unfortunately I ran into a seemingly small problem to which I can't find a satisfying solution:I defined a function f(t) which I wanted to plot in a 2D-XY-diagramm.  Since t is predefined as ton (t=10^3 kg) I get an error trying to plot my function f(t) over t.Is there any way I can redefine or erase t so I can use it as a variable to plot my diagramm? I know I could use any other variable, but it just bothered me that I cannot use t for time.Thank you very much in advance!

Is there a way to copy the plot properties from one plot to another like the format painter function in MSWord? I have a ton of plots on numerous sheets, each with multiple traces that need to have certain color scheme, trace thickness, etc. duplicated on all of them.This is too cumbersome. Hopefully this can become a standard function in Mathcad (15 or Prime).Another cool feature would be a direct link provided on the help menu for "feature search/request" that would let the user browse through the existing feature requests and add a new one if was not already there.Thanks.

I am having trouble extracting elements of a nested array (that is the output of a program) for plotting. The bottom of the attached worksheet explains in more detail what I am trying to do.

In the attached Mathcad 15 work sheet an Excel component spreadsheet has been inserted.  The spread sheet has a Visual Basic program that uses input from cells on sheet1 and outputs a result in cell E11.  Mathcad is to calculate the input variables and assign them to cells E4 to E9.  Then Mathcad is to read the result from Excel in cell E11 for use in the remainder of the Mathcad worksheet.The problem is it doesn't work.  Mathcad presents an error message that says "invalid cell ranges" and then locks up Mathcad.  The spreadsheet outside of Mathcad works perfectly?Is there something wrong with the way I'm trying to integrate the two programs?  Is there something wrong with the cell references?I didn't write the VBA program in the Excel worksheet.  It may be simpler to convert the program to a Mathcad program but I'm not conversant with VBA programming to do this.  Would appreciate help it the problem above can't be fixed.The lookup routines shoul

Hi, I have been trying to get a while loop to augment multiple matrices, previously defined globally,  until convergence is reached. I then want to access these matrices outside of the loop to perform further calculations. I have been having no luck, and am not even sure if I have defined the loop correctly to draw from the global variables. If you have any ideas, i would be incredibly appreciative.Thanks so much,

Hi everyone,I need to resolve a 1-variable equation into a function. For that, I want to use the function 'Trouver', which might be 'Find' in English, to resolve my equation.The problem is that the function 'Trouver' is 'unknown' when I use it into my own function.'Soit' means 'Suppose that'.Does anyone as an idea of what's wrong in my function ?TIA

Just downloaded the free trial of PTC Mathcad 4.The tutorial asks to download the "data_files..zip" file.I can't find it on the PTC web page.Can anyone tell where/how I can find and download the data fiel?Thanks,

HI,Please help. What is wrong with this.  I am expecting to have a multiple array in the result .

I am currently using Prime 3.1 to solve a simple equation as given in my mathcad sheet.My defined equation works to return correct values with the correct units. However using it to solve the equation for a single variable returns that there are no solutions.Yet I should be able to get back a solution around 950 (verified by graphing in excel).I am not too used to using this solve function in prime as usually I'd use the solve in Mathcad 15. Can someone more experienced just double check to see f I am doing anything incorrect ?

G'day,There seems to be a bug in Mathcad 4.0 where it just loses pagination and things creep above the page break line.I've spent about an hour trying to fix a many page document only to hit save and they randomly creep up again.Is there a solution for this?Thanks,Wade
