Mathcad

The various equations for finding required Cv for valve sizing contain what look like dimensional constants that depend on the units chosen. For example:But, I'm having trouble using this equation in Mathcad, since I don't know what is included in the constant 63.4 and I don't know if Cv should have any units or not. Anybody have any experience or ideas? Please see the worksheet attached. Thanks for any help you can lend.

I created a 2D plot for two dependant variables and one independant variables.  The plot is for dowel bearing strengths of wood loaded parallel and perpindicular to grain.  The actual values loaded parallel to the grain vary from 3400 psi to 9000 psi and those perpindicular to grain vary from 1500 psi to 6250 psi.  The mathad plot  shows them as 10,000,000 to 40,000,000 psi

Tough question:I am making a mathcad file where i want to see the influence of the traffic load on the structure. According to NEN-EN-1991-2 (Trafficloads on bridges)The selfweight part is easy, cause it is depending on the chosen structure. But the question is: How to determine the Moment and Shear distribution in such a way that different load cases can show the influence to the (different) beam configurations.Where the difficult part will be the freedom to apply different load combinations and different beam configurations.I hope you have an idea what i want and that you are able to help me.

  Dear Mathcad Helper,As shown in the attached sheet, I am trying to solve a non-linear system with 2N+5 equations.  Among the 2N+5 equations, there are N+1 equations for one type of conditions, N+1 equation for another type of conditions and 3 individual separate equations.  The number of unknowns is 2N+5.  The unknowns are grouped in one (N+1)-vector, one N-vector and another 3 separate unknowns. Here are two questions:Is there a way to use correctly the range variable “i” in order to formulate in a compact manner the two types of conditions?  I have difficulties with the range variable “i”.Is the regrouping of unknowns within multiple separate arrays (i.e. B and η) legal within a Find function?  If not, what would be a nice solution?   Note:   So far, the only one way I have been able to solve (partially) the non-linear equation system is to defined N as a single integer value, to explicitly write all 2N+5 equations one by one, and

I have a file done on version 14 and I try opening it on version 15. I's grayed out unless I zoom in like 200%. Is there any button under some menu turned on and I don't know about it? Any help'd be appreciated.Thanks.

Hello,For a Mathcad calculation I am trying to make use of an IF statement in Mathcad 15. At the top of the sheet I ask the user of the sheet whether they want calculation "A" or "B" through a List Box Control. I have set name "A" to correspond with value "0", and name "B" to correspond with value "1". This value is then stored as follows:Then further down in the Mathcad sheet, I want to make an IF program that calculates a function in one of two ways, depending on the value of Storage. I tried to make it like this, but that did not work:Does any of you have tips for me on how to do this? My computer died and I am trying to re-install Mathcad 14 with Windows 10. I am getting many error messages (many for help files which seem to be where they are supposed to be but the install program cannot find). I am trying to update a bunch of Mathcad 14 sheets to Prime 3.0, and I know Prime 3.0 does not have drop down menus like Mathcad 15 does. Is there any other function on Prime 3.0 that can serve the same function? I have attached a Mathcad sheet that I need to update to Prime 3.0 that has drop down menus, any help would be very much appreciated.Thanks,Matt

‌hi,im trying to make the jump from excel to prime for good.im trying to find how to create data from a table. In a very basic example if I create a 2 by 3 table with 1, 2 and 3 in the first two columns, how in mathcad do I calculate a third column that would return for example the multiplication of column 1 and 2 (appreciate this is actually column 0 and 1?in excel I would have typed =A1*B1 and dragged down through column C. Then I could do things like evaluating the sum of any column or row. Looking to see how this is acheived in mathCaD. Hi guys,I need to plot some raw data (experimental) and a function representing a model on the same set of axes in order to compare accuracy of the model relative to the experimental data. I am able to plot each one on separate axes without any problem, however when I try to add the vector containing the raw data to the y axis of a plot of the function, I get an error that states "the value must be real".Please advise on how to resolve this.

Using the root function, I have plotted a graph to show the I-V characteristic of a PV cell which is characterised by the implicit equation:I=Iph-Io [exp((q(V+IRs))/akT)-1]- (V+IRs)/RshVarying any of the parameters within the equation is expected to affect the I-V characteristic in a particular way. The plotted graphs takes on the expected shape but when I try to change the value of temperature, the plot shifts in an unexpected direction. Increasing temperature should lead to a decrease in open-circuit voltage and thus decrease in output power, but the model I've plotted suggests the opposite i.e. an increase in temperature leads to an increase in open circuit voltage which contravenes PV theory. Short circuit current (current when V=0) has a (slight) positive temperature coefficient while open circuit voltage (voltage when I=0) has a negative temperature coefficient.In contrast, when I vary other parameters like , Iph, Io , Rsh and Rs, the results are consistent with PV theory e.g. in
