Mathcad

Hi guys,My objective is to find LCC as close as possible to 1.Upon my Initial Guess Value of 1mm, it returns tcalc3 = 13.803mmsecond guess value of tcalc3 = 13.803mm,  returns LCC of 0.795 and tcalc3 = 12.3mmMy question is how can I make it as iterative, so that  I dont have to keep manually changing the initial guess value (tcalc3) to find LCC close to 1Thanks!!

All --I don't have much experience solving ODEs in Mathcad, Any ideas why this doesn't work?FWIW, I know I can separate variable and just put the necessary equations inside of a solve block and Minerr it, but that produces its own set of problems, so I would like to try this. Obviously, the symbolic engine chokes on the integral, so we can't do it directly.Thanks in advance.Matt

In MathCad 15, is there a way to limit the calculation time, or implement a time out, for a solve block?  I have a parameterized solve block in which there are some values of the inputs that cause the solve block to run continuously (or at least longer than I'm willing to wait).I'd like to skip over those instances where it does this in the looping of the parametrized solve block and continue on to the next set of inputs in the loop.Thank You

Just trying to familiarise myself with MathCAD, and start the process of converting from Excel...As a practice problem, I'm trying to graph a functions which involves an 'if' statement: tractive effort (force) determined either by a maximum (limiting) value, or by dividing the available power by speed, whichever gives the lower value.In Excel I'd use a 'min()' function at each point, but this isn't going to work in MathCAD because it will look at the whole of my speed vector (for plotting) and find the single minimum value.  Therefore I'm using an 'if - otherwise' statement to define my function for tractive effort.  This works for any individual speed value, including a single index of my speed vector, but won't accept the full vector to generate a graph.At least the units seem to be behaving themselves!How should I be approaching this?

Hi I am trying to import the data which has both the string and numbers from testing result in mathcad prime 3.0 version but in mathcad 15 version, I can sort the data with rows and columns as enclosed file but no idea to sort the columns as 15version did. someone help me? thanks in advance!

I'm having issues making Mathcad 15 remember unit redefinitions, this is especially a bother when using the explicit function.When I calculate a UDL from a pressure load (kPa x m = kN/m) Mathcad defaults the answer in kg/s^2. I redefine the units as kN/m which is okay, but when the variable is recalled, Mathcad returns the units to kg/s^2, this makes using the explicit function ugly. Any help?I've tried making the variable unitless and then reassigning it on the next page over but this doesn't seem to help either.Example doc attached

Hi,I'm using MatCAD 15 and have plenty of RAM. For deconvolution I use a program freely avaiable in the Internet, which runs smoothly on my computer, but after a relatively short time (3-5 min) the program stops working and gives an 'out of memory' error, probably due to an memory leak problem. Can sombody give me some tips avoiding this problem?best Jakob

Hey,community.I could manage so far the loadcaseprogramming but i have a problem how to get rid with the "NaN" value.At Page 8 of the mathcad file i need the smalest safety factor which i calculate out of the 5 Calculations.BUT WITHOUT THE NAN VALUE. When i do a minimum it shows me always a 0 when NaN occurs anywhere,How Can i write the condition with excluding a zero result?I just want to see the minimum safety factor without the zero.Is there a Possibility to comprimise my programmcode?Best thx 😃

Hi all,I have been using  MathCad Prime 3.1 for some weeks: I recently implemented a solve block in which I defined a system of ODEs with guess values and initial conditions: the solution is calculated via "odesolve" function. Since I need to have the time and initial conditions as parameters, I was wondering how to define the solve block as a function, in order to recall it wherever within my worksheet.Does anyone know how to do this?Thanks a lot!Domenico

Dear Expert,Regarding EN_NR1 and NR2 loop statement (left two algorithm), I got a diifferent results from one of Maple software because I guess I might made some fault in the loop but I couldn't find out hence I need your support !!What I want to make in EN_NR1 and 2 is thatinitial value x1,x2,x3,r1,r2,r3  should be updated whenever Xnew evaluate from Jinv with for loop and while loop but It seem it doesn't work... on the right graph from maple software, the black curve doesn't excceed 200 value at y axis but my mathcad say the black curve(EN_NR2) excceed over 1000 value even though the input is same both maple and mathcad.hence Could you support me? Hi,I am just now discovering all that Mathcad can do and I am having trouble with solving a system of equations that includes a conditional statement.  If I manually input the statements into the system of equations (at the end), it solves it correctly, but I would like the equations to change based on the selection of LL case.  Any help would be appreciated!Thanks,Nichole

Hi I want to use the "on error" function to assign a value after an error occurd, however it seems that the "on error" function is not able to cope with an undefined variable, see example. In this case it is obvious that there is no sollution, however I would like to continou with the value 0 (or whatever) if no solution can be found. Can somebody help me how I can tackle this problem?I have also attached the example.
