Whilst playing around with Prime, I noticed that some non-displayable characters seem to have the effect that one would normally expect in a string; for example, char(9), char(10) and char(13) act like tab, line-feed and carriage-return. Here's an example (using Prime Express, hence the strange manner of its execution).I hope this is A Feature rather than A Bug To Be Removed. In fact, I hope it is but a prelude to further enhancement of Mathcad's string handling facilities, including adding formatting and an option to suppress display of the quote character.Stuart[Should any of the more metaphorically inclined amongst you perceive any similarity between a certain mathematical application and the words attributed to a King Of England, I must point out that, being as simple in mind as any bear inhabiting hundred acre woods, such a comparison lies outwith my faculties, and, indeed, I am sure there is none to be made. As one of Welsh ancestry, however, I
I would like to create a table where one of the columns was a calculation that involved items in multiple rows of another column. For example on column had gear ratios and another had the split between adjoining gears. It is possible to reference another column and an entry in the top row populates (but doesn't display) the values in the other cells of that column. Is there a way to reference a cell in a different row from within a table? The documentation on tables in Mathcad Prime is next to non-existent. Is it possible to have a table display all values and not just the calculation equation in the top row?
I have run into an error using the solve block function in MathCAD 15. I have a function that I want to input a range a variable into. I can use the solve block if I only enter in one value. I get strange results when I try to enter in a range of values for the solve block to solve. Do you have any recommendations to fix my problem?
How can I input longer than single line expressions?
Hi,I'm trying to solve an equation that holds an integral in it. In that equation there are several constants and I would like to solve this for different values of that constants. However, it gives an error as "this value must be real". I've tried to sum up my problem if it is not clear i will glad to explain and get some help.Mathcad file is attached.ThanksBurak
I was able to extract the data based on the identifier in row 0. I want to calculate a rate of change based on dates in row 2 for values found in rows 4 to 12. I will also calculate rates of change from the most recent date on all previous dates. I read over the papers on indexes and range variables so I don't think I change the range variable for data set comparisons. I was able to calculate the rate of change by separating out each data set into vectors but this sounds messy. Hopefully your answer with allow me to solve other pending questions for data analysis. Thanks
Hello,I have inserted a Microsoft Word object into my mathcad sheet for a table of contents and other 'text' items at the top of the document. However, I have found that if the information goes beyond one page the information isn't displayed. Could somebody elablore if I might be missing some way to display the entire information or if this is a limitation of MathCAD.
Can anyone verify that Mathcad 15 and Mathcad Prime 3.0 are compatible with Windows 10?
I have a conditional function I'd like to fit to a dataset, is that possible in some way?
Hi everyoneI want to estimate weibull distribution parameters using censored and complete samples via the Monte Carlo simulation methodcan anyone help me?Thanks
Odesolve - in Mathcad 12 OK - see please the pictureBut in Mathcad 15 and Prime - not OK - see please attach. Why?
Dear all,I am having an issue with a large program in Mathcad. I want to enclose a large number of formulae within a Mathcad function. This has been created as a program using the Mathcad "Programming" Toolbar. When I calculate the worksheet, Mathcad spends a long time (~10 minutes) calculating this program and eventually fails to do so, returning an unexplained "mpl_exception". Please see screenshot below:When the program was shorter, i.e. when it had fewer formulae in it, then Mathcad was able to successfully calculate the program, and it returned a result in a very short time. Please note this program is not yet complete, and I still wish to add more formulae to it.The program does not contain large loops, large arrays, or other operations that would understandably take a long time. I am confused as to why this program is taking so long to evaluate, and why it is not able to do so successfully. I would welcome your advice and assistance. Please find the Mathcad sheet attached to this
I'm trying to solve a set of differential equations, I removed the integral, but I don't know what exact information I'm missing. I'm getting the error message "you have too few equations".Also, is it possible to make mathcad solve this using laplace method? Thanks
Hello, Everyone. Thanks in advance. Regards. Loi.
I am having trouble with the solve block on the attached worksheet. It is using the maximize function within a solve block. Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong. The answer should be around 104 kip. Adjusting the guess value does not help. Thanks in advance for any help.
HiI am new to MC Prime 2.0, but I have been using MC 2001i and MC 14 at High School, but license expired when I graduated. On to the issue:I want Mathcad to solve some differential equations and give me out the function as a result likey'(x) = x+5y/4^2y(0)=2and then I pressy(x) = <answer comes here>and out comes the function that matches those conditions. I have no idea of how to this, except something about that ODESolve, but I can't figure out how to use it, and the web isn't at any help at all (neither the built in tutorial).By the way, it is all random numbers that I just pressed in the example
HiI'm trying to solve this differential equation using solve blocks, which I cannot do by hand......But I'm getting this error message. Can u please assist on what I'm doing wrong?
I have found a bug, which is really terrible!Prim 3.1 caclulates wrong mean and stddev values. It correct in MathCAD Ver 15 M0300!Can anyone here verify this?
I'm trying to solve a simultaneous differential equation.Do I need to use a solve block (which is only available in the full version) to solve simultaneous differential equation and it would work?
Sometimes when I evaluate a derivative symbolically in mathcad of a certain function, it gives me 0 when its not. can anyone help?
Hi experts,I have a sheet done (the demo) with a MS Access DB with DSN and OLE in Prime 3.1. See https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS181327For this to get run you have to install: (See the Q&A resouce from the web below)Q: I'm working on a program and it compiles fine, but it gives me a "MSVCR110D.dll is missing.."-error. I run Visual Studio 2013 on Windows 7 64bit, I also use boost 1.55.0 and SFML 2.1. Google and a fellow superuser post didn't help me out. I got told to install c++ redistributable but that didn't help me either. I'm not that good with C++ yet so excuse me if I missed something. A: The D version is the Debug Runtime. msvcr110 means it needs to C++ 2012 runtime. The file is not redistributable so you need to install Visual C++ 2012 or the 2012 C++ Express Edition, too. Maybe one of your 3rd party libs depend on this file. I could run it as OLE and DSN. But my question is how to use a MySQL Connector ODBC. I have already installed the MySQL Co
While the main drive of the Mathcad team is the development of new features for PTC Mathcad Prime 4.0 and future Prime releases, we recognize the need to maintain Mathcad 15.0 for users who simply can’t move to the newest version because we have yet to implement functionality they find essential for day-to-day use. 15.0 isn’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future – we are committed to regular maintenance releases of the product until we can migrate the majority of users to the latest version of Prime.Mathcad 15.0 M040 is due to be released shortly – we are finishing up our testing and resolving one final issue with 3D plots. This MOR is slightly different from previous ones – while it includes several critical bug fixes, we’ve also updated the core code to support current technology advances.15.0 is the result of over 30 years of development and in that time many operating systems have come and gone. With many users opting to continue utilizing 15.0 we made the decision to ce
This worksheet gives the calculations of the temperature rise of the inner conductor, assumed solid copper, of a high power coaxial cable like the one used in Quetta (Pakistan) MW transmitter, 100 KW-1134 KHz. Temperature rise of solid state devices, transformers, bus-bars and transmission lines are very important for the life operation of these dvices.
High Power Coaxial Cable with Mathcad Prime 2.0This worksheet gives the calculation of the temperature rise of the inner conductor (assumed solid copper conductor) of a high power coaxial cable like the one used in Quetta (Pakistan) MW transmitter at 100KW and 1134 KHz implemented by Telefunken. Temperature rise of semiconductor devices, bus-bars, transmission lines and cables, transformers etc are very important for the life and operations of these devices.
I am using mathcad prime 3.1 and trying to solve a system of two 1st order ODEs with the odesolve command. I define the ODEs both in an explicit manner as well as in matrix form. In the first case the error that occurs is "Unable to form the derivative matrix" and in the second case "there are too few equations". Attached is a copy of the file I am working on. Any help and ideas would be highly appreciated. Many thanks,George
