Sample Code: I'm looking for some sample code written in JAVA 1.7 to interface to schematics. I want to update a parameter on an artifact that I have in the schematics using JAVA. There are really no examples to follow. I would be happy with the standard "Hello World" code just to see if I could get the code to work through the gateway interface.

Hi, if i try to import an .asm file in creo illustrate, nothing happens. If i try it again it says "you already have imported this file" I converted this file from Solidworks - it can be opened in Creo Parametric just fine - why not in Illustrate? Any suggestions? Regards
I am a Technical Writer. We use Creo Illustrate to make our graphics. I have been trying to get Creo Illustrate to output a view from inside a machine in perspective view. The process of making a .svg file fails at 82% completion. Any suggestions. nlewis
Extract from tutorial : About Autorouting In order to automatically route cables or wires without manually choosing From and To entry ports, you must establish a logical reference. The reference can be to an XML file that is exported from PTC Creo Schematics, a Diagram file or a wire list text file in a supported format. Does this mean that is it possible to autoroute wires in CreoParametric using logical data from CreoDiagram? I'd greatly appreciate an answer, thank you!
Hi, is it possible to define a joint in Creo Illustrate? It would help me for further sequences. Like a concentric binding between to round elements or lock two parts together and allow just the rotation around one axis. Thanks
I have a model in Creo 4.0 (academic edition) with an image pasted onto a filled sketch. The image is visible when modelling and when shaded with reflections is enabled and when ambient occlusion and scene background is selected. The screen grab below shows the image (green plant) is displayed. As soon as I enter Applications > Render studio, the plant image disappears. I've tried all of the lighting presets in Real-time settings. Thanks
Dear PTC, Don't use single letter as mapkeys, please.Even since CREO4.0,by default ,a letter is used as a mapkey ,such as,in Parametric ,your use X as the mapkey for Extrude .Because you used "X" and ranked the first ,so I can't use a combination of X prefixes, for example, "XA" or "XX". When I press down "X" ,creo4 running the "X" program ,not running the "XA" or "XX" .And ,you can only fitting 26 (from a to z) mapkeys .If you can use 2 letters as mapkeys ,A lot of combinations ! Like me ,I use "cs" as the mapkey for Extrude ,WHY? C=creat S=solid , such as ,"rs" r=rotate s=solid ,"sg"=sketch line ,but I don't use "L" ,because ,L is on the right hand ,thinking ,Wubi input method,G=horizontal ,so ,"g" instead of "L" ;such as "hh"= hide ,"bh"=back hide ,etc. If you need, I will upload me more mapkeys .All on the left hand ,Looking forward to your reply. ths!
Hello! I created a 20 second animation. During the 20 second animation, I would like 5 annotations (text with a leader line) to fade in and fade out in a sequence during the animation. I cannot add my annotations to the Keyframe Editor. Once an annotation is added, it remains "on" for the entire 20 second animation. I would like annotations to turn off and on during the animation. Thoughts? Is this possible?
Goodmorning to everyone. I am a beginner about Creo. I have a trial version about Creo Illustrate with a license that is expiring this evening 15/12/2017. I have only one question: Is it possible to make any object movements (for example a robot rotation) with some links between two or more parts? Because my aim is to make some video in which my robot has to make some movements. Do I have to move every part or is there a fuction that links two objects? Thanks for your time Best regardes.

Increase the line thickness of sketched geometry to make it easier to see.
Has anyone used the direct connection between Creo Illustrate and Windchill that comes with Illustrate 4.1? What are the pros/cons you've experienced with the direct connection? I prefer the concept of a workspace in WWGM where we can do work before uploading that to commonspace in Windchill. I'd like feedback before we commit to upgrading to 4.1.
Hi, Recently i was watching the following great video, here: 3d view from Virtual Interconnect, and was supprise to see that creo schematic has a 3d view of a connector. What is the proces to achive it ? or it is just an import of a dwg ? Will be happy to hear your inputs Many thanks,

We have a requirement that is currently being met by an existing tool which adds a custom 2D background to the 3D Model creating a border/template into which text can be placed as required. See attachment. This can then be printed as a 2D PDF. (Hard copy is currently a deliverable) Is there a way to do this in Creo View annotations and/or Creo Illustrate figures.
I have installed the Creo 3 student version. But i get no dimensions in sketch mode. Someone has got a solution for my problem or is this a restriction of the student version?
In Creo Parametric 4.0, I have an assembly with different parts assigned different colors. When I convert to a STP file, exported as AP214 which is supposed to retain colors, the shade of the colors changes. For example I go from a beige color to a blinding white. Any ideas how to fix this?
Is schematics the place to ask cable routing questions?
We are running Creo 2, M230 for production but have installed Creo 4, M020 for evaluation. I hope we can move to Creo 4 soon. When I installed Creo 4, it of course installed the latest version of Creo View and the thumbnail viewer. Now, every time I fire up Creo 2 it briefly tries to install the Creo 2 version. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
Is there a way to move the section location in Creo View Express?
