I have an WT part which is already existing PDM Link and associated with reference document, Now I need this reference document to be converted or changed to be drawing/document type. Is it possible??? If yes please guide me..!  @bsindelar  @STEVEG @BenLoosli @MikeLockwood @AL_ANDERSON @tstacy 

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.0.2We implemented BOM view Business rules for WTParts which is working . we trying to configure the same for EPMDocuments , BOM CAD rules for validate the that all child components are in released state but which is not working . need to know if there any preference for CAD documents .

Im exploring Options and Variants. Upto this point I have only used Parameters and Constraints to create a variant. Want to understand, what is the difference between an assembly created using Actions configure (ie. A variant spec is created with a variant) and this approach where we get a CAD assembly directly and no Variant Spec.

Hi All,Trying to use a custom icon for a soft-type.Created a .png image in codbase\netmarkets\images.Assigned it to soft-type in type and attribute management.Maintained the standard pixel size 15x15 / 16x16.Followed Article - CS292675 on support site, still the icon doesn't show up in recently accessed tab.Any suggestions how to fix it.Regards.

Hello Windchillers,   This not a request , but more a way to share a workaround to  solve a problem  Some Administrators, are sometime asked to grant non admins users  a way to manage Windchill Queues. We can grant uses Permissions to modify WTQueues and their entries ,using loadfromfile as they are not exposed in policy administration , https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs247200  Permissions Processing Queue/Scheduled Queue.   with the above setting, users with above permissions will still require the queue link as the queue table is controlled by class com.ptc.core.components.validators.URLValidatorSiteUtilities,looking for admin rights     (view in My Videos)   To workaround this situation and making accessing the queues page more elegant  we can cerate a report for Queues a expose it to users , so users having required permissions, will be able to run the report and access the Queues ,other will get blank result

We are investigating to introduce MBOMs to our Windchill configuration. Today, we only manage an EBOM driven from our cad structure. For anybody who has introduced MBOMs to Windchill, what were your findings and things that we should prepare for?

Curious if anyone is using subtypes of Managed Baseline in Windchill?    As configured today, any user can create a Baseline in our system. We are considering making a few new subtypes that have access policies applied to them. The idea is that a Configuration Management (CM) or Product Development Process (PDP) baseline can only be created by a select few and are documented in our business processes. This would help move the Baseline creation from a nice to have item, to a need to have item that is created in a consistent manner according to CM decisions and our PDP.    I have a second request coming from the sourcing team that would like to create a Baseline once/week so they have a historical check point to determine if there have been any updates in a product structure. They need to know if anything has changed from the top level down to ensure they are forecasting and costing all the right components.

So I am about to roll out PartsLink Classification on our purchased parts.  I have a ton of possible attributes.  Some very specific to a specif node and some that can be more general.  My question is around the attributes for the nodes.  Should I try to use as many global attributes as I can or should I make them more specific?  A good example is voltage.  I know that each node will have it's own attribute, but in the Type and Attribute area, should I try to use as few as possible and point the node attributes to them as global?  What are the pros/cons of doing this?  I know a pro is that I have less to create.  But then should I just create all of them with that in mind?   Right now I have a mixture of the two and have over 120 attributes in my test system but have missed some that could possibly be global.  I'm just looking for ways to possibly lessen this going into my production environment if it is not detrimental.

1. Can we display a state column in the Find Affected Objects window?or2. Can we add a filter and filter by state?or3. Can we use baseWhereClause="(state.state='PRODUCTION')" in jsp file and customize, so that only production state objects are returned?

Dear Community, I have customized a Change Notice type and created a custom attribute in this type, this attribute is a drop down box to select the value, in addition I have created a template for change notice based on this type, in the template I have set the value of this attribute, in this case when the user creates a change notification, select the template, the value of this attribute will be brought over, but the user can still select other values When user creates a change notice, can it be set to read-only by the function of OOTB, or do I have to write a customized Validator?  Because we don't want to give the user a choice, just follow the values of the template.
