Hey guys, I have a problem with my Creo 2.0 Student Version. Everytime I try to open the program, it takes around 15 Minutes until the creo-window opens.. I can see the process of Creo right after I clicked on the icon. Does anyone have the same problem or a solution? I´m using Windows 7 with an i5 4570 and 8GB Ram, should be enough for Creo. I recently downloaded my school's version of ProE to my laptop. When I start the program the main menu of proE is displayed but I have an warning message that reads: Warning Message List License Request failed for feature Requesting PROE_Schools... C:\Program Files\Creo Elements\Pro Schools Edition\text\licensing\lisence.data (-2) Invalid license file syntax When I click ok it just closes itself out and I am unable to use ProE. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?? thanks!

Does anyone know the email address of those who are responsible for the Schools Program in the UK? I gather they are based now in USA. I've already sent two emails to a number of personnel but as yet no reply. It seems I must have the incorrect email addresses. How someone can help!

We are using Creo to create our Bill Of Materials. We have modified every part and added, Price, Supplier, Rule (FTC Game Rule Allowing The Part), and Description parameters. Then in a drawing, we create the table. This works really cool. As we add parts to the robot, the BOM is automatically updated and it includes the game rules for using the part. It also provides a total cost to the robot. But the number show up as 13,050 and not 13.050. I know this the "European Style". Where can change it so that it is decimal? We just used a Blank A drawing for the drawing template. We do use the metric template as our default template for the robot assembly.Also while on topic, can we have it to two decimal places than 3 so it show 13.05 instead of 13.050.

Hey there I got a problem with my Creo 3.0 student installation.I can start Creo Simulate lite on my system and as far as I know, I have the licence for it, as written here:http://communities.ptc.com/thread/53041But then I am in simulate lite, I can't do anything. But I don't even get a licence error.I can't make my way through the process guide. The links, that you should click to define loads, constraints and so on are missing. This morning I received a YouTube link from my son Tom who is teaching English in Japan.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_CDLBTJD4M What a wonderful setting for the art/musical installation. Initial awe and amazement was soon replaced by lots of questions including; how did they arrive at the angles to control the speed and how did they make and tune so many notes?This reminded me of a proof of concept I did some time ago with Andy, a top PTC Application Engineer. These engineers support customers so need to be able to make PTC Creo sing(!) and dance.  My question to Andy was "I want to create a set of wind chimes with specific notes/frequencies. Hello. I long time ago i set my default working directory using shortcut/properties/start in. It worked fine until today. When i start a new part creo will use my config file that is saved in my working directory, however, when i go to save the part i have to navigate to my working directory. Until recently when i would click save the window was already opened in my working directory. I tried reentering the command in "start in" but that doesnt fix it. Its weird because when i first launch creo and select working directory it automatically brings up my working directory. I never had to do this extra step before.Any ideas?

Is it possible to assign new roles in the Windchill project? For example, I accidentally added students with a "mentor" role, or when a student graduates and should be moved from "team member" to "alumni"? I can delete them and add them under the new (or correct) role, but surely there's a more elegant way to do it?Noa RensingTeam 2877 The Ligerbots

Please confirm the proper procedure for installing Creo 3.0 on a team computer that already has 2.0 installed and running, we wanted to keep both available and downloaded the CREO 3.0 files, everything seemed to load OK , then we opened CREO 3.0 , it booted until it got to the license and said neother license was valid, we also have MathCAD on thsi computer so there are 2 license file nunbes coming up. CREO 2.0 still runs OK, do we need another license from PTC specifically for CREO 3.0 ? or do we need to remove the old license files and then get a new one to cover all 3 programs ?Thank you

I'm wondering is Creo 3.0 avaliable for students. There is package of creo 3.0 on the academic website but can't be used after installed. I'll apreciated it.

I resently updated Creo to 3.0 and the old files that I created in 2.0 will not open nor function in 3.0 my computer teacher at school talk to a cero support technician and he said something about taking our new license and putting it in the old version I am not sure what to to and I would like someone to make a step by step list on how to fix this, Thank you, Team 7719 Rise Robotics

A few of my team's members have not been able to get Robotalk working.They downloaded webex and have ptc accounts, but the stream either refuses to open or is blank.One is on linux, the other mac.Does Robotalk only work on PC?

Hi allhow about this one for a problem to solve.   I am trying to create a conch shell using the helical sweep tool, I can do it so far and then I hit a brick wall namely my mathematical ability, or should I say lack of mathematical ability.  The conch shell is creted in nature obeying rules that can best be described by the using Fibonacci principles.  That is the bit that beats me.  Using the Vary Section option I can create a pseudo conch shell. See belowWhat I would like to do is now vary the pitch so that it changes related to the fibonacci series.  Has anyone any clues to how I might do this.  The Hel;ical sweep has a variable pitch function in Creo Parametric by setting a series of points along the profile curve axis.  If I can set the points in the ratio of 1.618 , the golden section I think I can do it.  Am I on the right track?  I attach my Schools Edition file just in case anyone else would like to play.

As the robot/assembly build becomes large, when you add a part it is quite far from the area of the assembly being worked on/viewed. Is there a way when a part is added, it is "close" to the current view so you don't have to constantly view our move the part reasonably close to where it is going to be connected?

I installed Creo 3 with the provided license key, and I'm getting this error when trying to run it. I'm not really sure how to fix this.

A simple cuboid box wih parameters for length, width and height. Changing these values and regenerating the model creates a custom size box.The drawing file lets you export a DXF for cutting.  PTC Creo 2.0 Academic files and instructions are in the zip file.

When I go to the layers window, there's already a whole bunch of layers there. So many that finding layers I've created is somewhat tedious - which seems to defeat the purpose of having layers...... at least as far as I understand them. I haven't seen any filter options that help.I've been looking for more info/tutorials but no luck.Am I missing something or that's just the way it is?Thanks,Dan Holt#7300
