Hello. I long time ago i set my default working directory using shortcut/properties/start in. It worked fine until today. When i start a new part creo will use my config file that is saved in my working directory, however, when i go to save the part i have to navigate to my working directory. Until recently when i would click save the window was already opened in my working directory. I tried reentering the command in "start in" but that doesnt fix it. Its weird because when i first launch creo and select working directory it automatically brings up my working directory. I never had to do this extra step before.Any ideas?
Is it possible to assign new roles in the Windchill project? For example, I accidentally added students with a "mentor" role, or when a student graduates and should be moved from "team member" to "alumni"? I can delete them and add them under the new (or correct) role, but surely there's a more elegant way to do it?Noa RensingTeam 2877 The Ligerbots
Please confirm the proper procedure for installing Creo 3.0 on a team computer that already has 2.0 installed and running, we wanted to keep both available and downloaded the CREO 3.0 files, everything seemed to load OK , then we opened CREO 3.0 , it booted until it got to the license and said neother license was valid, we also have MathCAD on thsi computer so there are 2 license file nunbes coming up. CREO 2.0 still runs OK, do we need another license from PTC specifically for CREO 3.0 ? or do we need to remove the old license files and then get a new one to cover all 3 programs ?Thank you
I'm wondering is Creo 3.0 avaliable for students. There is package of creo 3.0 on the academic website but can't be used after installed. I'll apreciated it.
Happy Monday,PTC is glad to announce the completion and implementation of the Windchill changes promised at the beginning of the season on the academic.ptc.com server. This was a big undertaking for the team and the end result is a more streamlined, direct interface for Windchill. Windchill is an enterprise PLM solution in production at thousands of companies around the world. Each customer will often take the time to define their business needs and tailor the system to meet their requirements. That's exactly what PTC has done for the academic community. There are many improvements in the system, but let me take a minute to highlight just a few of them.New Folder ToolbarNew Plan ToolbarNew Action Item ToolbarSimplified Folder Actions
I resently updated Creo to 3.0 and the old files that I created in 2.0 will not open nor function in 3.0 my computer teacher at school talk to a cero support technician and he said something about taking our new license and putting it in the old version I am not sure what to to and I would like someone to make a step by step list on how to fix this, Thank you, Team 7719 Rise Robotics
A few of my team's members have not been able to get Robotalk working. They downloaded webex and have ptc accounts, but the stream either refuses to open or is blank. One is on linux, the other mac.Does Robotalk only work on PC?
Hi allhow about this one for a problem to solve. I am trying to create a conch shell using the helical sweep tool, I can do it so far and then I hit a brick wall namely my mathematical ability, or should I say lack of mathematical ability. The conch shell is creted in nature obeying rules that can best be described by the using Fibonacci principles. That is the bit that beats me. Using the Vary Section option I can create a pseudo conch shell. See belowWhat I would like to do is now vary the pitch so that it changes related to the fibonacci series. Has anyone any clues to how I might do this. The Hel;ical sweep has a variable pitch function in Creo Parametric by setting a series of points along the profile curve axis. If I can set the points in the ratio of 1.618 , the golden section I think I can do it. Am I on the right track? I attach my Schools Edition file just in case anyone else would like to play.
If you are having difficulties loading the Quick Table menu or using the inserting a TBL file from the System Tables folder with the Student Edition of Creo Parametric 2.0, the attached ZIP file should remedy the situation. This problem has already been resolved in Creo Parametric 3.0 and does not require this update.Close any open Creo Parametric sessionsDownload the ZIP file to your computerUnzip to your computer so there is a single folder named table with the subfolders; Assembly, Cabling, Diagram, Format and ManufacturingNavigate to your Creo Parametric installation folderOpen Common Files\M120\text, where M120 is the datecode of your softwareRename the table folder to table_OLDCopy the extracted folder to this locationStart Creo Parametric and create a new drawing and place a system table on the sheet - New, Drawing, Empty, OK
As the robot/assembly build becomes large, when you add a part it is quite far from the area of the assembly being worked on/viewed. Is there a way when a part is added, it is "close" to the current view so you don't have to constantly view our move the part reasonably close to where it is going to be connected?
Academic Support,I have one question about Creo Mold Analysis Extension for Academic use, the module is available into PTC University Plus package?Right now, the Module does not work like the picture show
ROBOTalk – November 5, 2014In our eighth webinar of the season, we discussed community outreach for teams, along with a segment on different types of robot analyses that teams can do in PTC Creo (mass properties, kinematics, dynamics, and stress analysis). We also had a guest speaker and FIRST team mentor, Josh Houser, review how they maintain just one Windchill project across multiple teams.Recorded Video Link –Download: http://apps.ptc.com/schools/FIRST/Robotalk/ROBOTalk-20141105%202359-1.arf Note: The WebEx ARF player is required to playback the recording if you download it. I installed Creo 3 with the provided license key, and I'm getting this error when trying to run it. I'm not really sure how to fix this.
A simple cuboid box wih parameters for length, width and height. Changing these values and regenerating the model creates a custom size box.The drawing file lets you export a DXF for cutting. PTC Creo 2.0 Academic files and instructions are in the zip file.
When I go to the layers window, there's already a whole bunch of layers there. So many that finding layers I've created is somewhat tedious - which seems to defeat the purpose of having layers...... at least as far as I understand them. I haven't seen any filter options that help.I've been looking for more info/tutorials but no luck.Am I missing something or that's just the way it is?Thanks,Dan Holt#7300
When will be mathcad prime 3.0 be available for the ptc academic program?
I had posted this in the PTC Community Creo section, but wanted to talk about it here.Is there a way to catagorize tutorials that you have watched, you want to watch, you want to book mark for 3-6 months from now so that when you want to watch it again because you don't use this skill often and you get rusty quick, but a refresher tutorial will remind you what you need to do?Somehow the it would be good if this could be personalized somehow:http://communities.ptc.com/ideas/2588Thanks, Dale
Hi. One year ago I installed CREO 2.0 as a drawing tool in studies of mechanical engineering at the URV (Universitat Rovira i Virgili). Now the license has expired. I have the possibility to extend this license ?? Or should I BELIEVE uninstall and reinstall again ?? Thank you
I have installed creo 3.0 using the steup.exe file. When I go to open the software, it says "License Request Failure". Does the License have to be located in a particular directory in order for the software to locate it? I have a feeling the software is looking at a my previous lecense for creo 2.0.
i got product code, through atc portal by sending my host id , i applied for 1year student program on through my clg,, tell me procedure to get the license file.for creo 2.0my mail id is -

Unable to access or create CAD or part objects. "tempdb is full due to ACTIVE_TRANSACTION.
We need to costrain a part to a part added later but when we select it, there is no option to constrain to that part.
Hello All,I've imported a VSP file (from the Open VSP program) into Parametric, and now need to add dimensions to the model. The issue is, the model was added without any form of clickable data points (lines, points, etc), and therefore no way of creating dimensions. Any ideas? I hope that made sense...
Hi all, I just downloaded Creo 2.0 and when i try to enter the license in the 'simple license entry' box, I am unable to select the box itself to type anything in. I was wondering if this maybe a local issue or if there is a fix. I am also having this problem when i try to install 3.0.Thanks in advance.
