Good afternoon, I am looking for guidance on how to create a toolbar button in editor that when pressed will open  specific pdf. How do I do this?   Bryon

From what I understand, the Datamerge functionality is not supported anymore. It can work, but is depreciated and not encouraged by PTC.   Is there a plan to bring this back or some new functionality that replaces it?  We would like to tap in to existing database for specifications, etc. instead of keying the values in and maintaining a duplicate set of info.   Looking forward to hearing what other companies are doing, what PTC recommends and if a solution will be coming in the future.   Thanks! Hi All,   I would like to know if there is any possibility to interact with the "OPEN IN ARBORTEXT" action in Windchill in order to choose a specific custom folder for Arbortext.   The issue is the following :   We have 2 environment to create our S1000D content : * A pre-production environment (which is 1 custom folder) * A production environment (a second custom folder)   When whe open a S1000D Data module from Windchill we would like to be able to choose one or the other environment.   Some precision : * Windchill version : 11.0 M030 * Arbortext version : 7.0 M050 * We do not have S1000D SIM module.   Thanks in advance for your ideas 🙂   Jérôme    

Hi, i'm looking to give a order different from alphabetical at the "category list" in the "new File Dialog" the only way that we did find its to prefix the doctypes customization folders, but this solution get others problems in our business.Do you know a different or better way to accomplish a non alphabetical sort in the mentioned list?Thank you,have a excellent day

We have Arbortext 7.1 M021 installed with the Print Composer component. When trying to perform a print preview the process never completes. It just sits there. I have no issues publishing a file but am unable to print preview. There is [fmt 2] in the bottom corner that seems to be hung. Our Stylesheets are FOSI.   We had this issue in the previous version and we were able to hit the ENTER key on the keypad and it would go through but its not working this time. The only want to kill this process is to try to Publish to PDF and then it gives me the option to cancel the current process and start a new one.   Any help would be appreciated.

We are facing the following error "Application fails with editor.exe[A30382} capacity exceeded. string block page table entries error". This error is happening while importing GenText translations. We have been directed to split the stylesheets and import 4 or 5 GenText translation into a stylesheet. Is there any other suggestion to split the stylesheets ?

Currently using ArborText Editor with Styler 6.1. I am attempting to change the pages location after publishing my document to PDF (I need that my document start by transltr). I am using FOS folder (.fos)

Hello all,   We would like to print a Georgian XML file with FOSI. In this XML file, we have index entries which should be printed in this position.   Could you please let me know why this is happening? Is there any place where we should define the Georgian letters/alphabet from where Arbortext will pull the letter in order to print the index correctly?   Regards Pavlos  

We are having an issue where editor terminates with no warning and closes all open editor windows. After it closes it does create an hs_err file each time. Anyone else have this issue?    Bryon

I am trying to understand burst configurations and more specifically, how to set Windchill attributes in a burst configuration file for doctypes.   For example, if I have the following in my burst config file <typerule elementname="graphic"targettype="wt.epm.EPMDocument|"/>   In Windchill, we have a defined soft type of com.aa.softtype.    What tag in the burst confg file should I modify with a default value so when the objects are burst into Windchill, the value is populated in the Windchill GUI?

We are currently thinking about switching from CGMS to SVGS to get our publish times down. When I created my test pdf using svgs, the items outside the bounding box in isodraw also show up in the pdf. Our editors use big models and show what they need to in the bounding box in Isodraw leaving the rest of the model outside the bounding box. With CGM's there is a isoconvert.prf file, in the editor install location, where I can specify to use the CGM VDC Extent (change 0 to 1). Then editor outputs only what is in the bounding box. PTC support says there is no optoin like this for svgs. What do other users do when using svgs?   Bryon

I'm looping through my array of chapter tags and comparing an attribute value to my loop counter and I don't know if my attribute is a string or integer. Because my document uses a double digit numbering system, attribute value 05 is equal to counter loop value 5. Any way for me to convert 05 to a string so when I compare them, they are not equal?   Also, I'm confused as to why I got an output of 566 when I output 5.00102. See the attached screen shot.   Thank you for all and any help!

When publishing with APE, if any profile is selected, we get red page published with no content. It seems that it cannot see our pcf files. Has anyone else seen this.   Bryon

When 'track changes' are on and user makes revisions to the content, the incorrect user name is displayed. AE preferences do have the correct user name. So I'm not sure where the random user name is coming from. Is there a setting that I can go to that will allow me to insert the correct user name?

We are using schematron for extra validation of our xml documents during the standard 'Check Completeness' function and working well.   We would like to create a separate menu item for a different schematron (a subset of <pattern>s) only to be run by certain users employees. We would like this second Schematron to be kicked off from a custom menu item using ACL.   I can create a menu no problem, but how can I get my menu item to reference the schematron file? Where should this schematron file be saved?

Hello,I have a problem with displaying images in *.pdf format in Arbortext Editor.The files with standard extensions (*.jpg, *.eps, etc) are displayed in Arbortext Editor, but when I try to insert an image in the *.pdf format, all I can see is an icon indicating a missing image.Does anybody know if this is a matter of changing the display options or maybe this format is not supproted?Thank you very much in advance.Sandra

Hello, I have certain cases where I want frame to break a line after a slash (as in the and/or phrase) as well as some cases where I do not (as a slash in a measuring unit Kg/m ). I don't want to turn off breaking entirely. As exemple I need to stop the breaking line betwen the "m/" and the "s" in this phrase  (m/s). Thanks, Zied
