I believe that I need to use sub-select on my report.I am creating a report that counts the number of released parts per ECN.The report needs to list attributes related to subtypes of Parts in my organization.It causes multiple lines since for each subtype there will be a new column for the attribute...I understand that If I use sub-select, I can run the query and concatenate the result in a way to have the attribute in a single column.  

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: I have a Family Table that an Instance that is at a later date than the Generic.Description: I have a Family Table that an Instance that is at a later date than the Generic.  I am not able to update the FT to bring both the instance and Generic to the latest iteration together.  How can I fix this FT? The -.52 Generic references the -.2 instance.The -.51 Generic references the -.3 instance.

When doing "save as" in Creo, a new windchill partnumber is reserved. When one now selects the "step-file" format. The old partnumber is reused. The reserved partnumber, is now gone forever. This partnumber is not reused. it is just gone.The same problem happens when copying partsSuppose I have an assembly with 500 parts. Now I want to make a copy of this assembly. In this copy I want to change one part. This theoratically should require only 2 new part numbers. One number for the copied assembly and one new number for the changed part. However, Creo / Windchill will first reserve 501 new part number. Of this I will use 2 new part numbers and 499 of the old ones. Now the problem is that those 499 partnumbers are un-used and lost forever.We are now running windchill for 4 years and have 2 active users. Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: During our promotion request, the process flow is stuck at "set to superseded". Our fix is to contact the user who has the previous release uploaded to their workspace to delete the objects from their workspace on the server side. I then have to contact our IT to search for the workflow from the queue manager for them to do a reset. This is very tedious and time-consuming.Description: On our promotion request, the previous release is set to superseded once the latest object is approved for release.  However, if the previous release is "uploaded" to the server side, it is considered as a "private checkout"  The system can not change the state when it is "checked-out".  Site admin access is required to reset the workflow after the objects have been removed from the server side.   I am searching for a workaround, or a solution to bypass this behavior.  In my opinion, the system can differentiate the "checked-out vs

I had an issue I opened with tech support. The overall sourcing status was showing No AML but I did in fact have AML/AVL data for a particular part. It turns out the OEMPARTAXLCONTEXTLINK table had no entry. Still investigating as to how this occurred but this query showed the extent of the issue. I will close this thread with a summary of how we think it was caused. Version: Windchill 11.1 Use Case: Replace the primary content of an existing creo drawing object with another .drw fileDescription: Is it possible to replace the primary content of a creo drawing object with another .drw file? We have drawing objects which just contain a pdf in WC11 but need the primary content replaced with actual CAD data from WC10.  The only other options I have at the moment is overwriting the current object in WC11 or renaming the object from WC10 so there is no naming conflict. Neither have a desirable outcome as I don't want to lose the current history of the WC11 object and I also don't want to create similar duplicates

Hello community,Here in 12.1.1.0 Windchill workgroup manager. there is some model, that is saved in local computer. I opened that model in SolidWorks. It is completely savable file. SolidWorks have PTC Windchill tab, I used "Save to workspace" option to save in workspace. the file was saved and i did checked in to Library container.After checking in, I again checkout and open in SolidWorks, i see filename (read only) on SolidWorks window. when I am saving. it is not saving into workspace, and it is giving " this file is read only".I checked my access; I am having full control access on all the objects in library.I need to what is the root cause, why the files are changed to read only?Is there any preference for this cause?

I'm wondering if anyone has heard what specific date Windchill 13.0.2 will be released? The PTC Product Calendar month/year currently shows July 2024. It's been this way for a few months now. July is right around the corner and it would be nice if PTC would provide some transparency on when so users of their software can adequately plan for the upgrade.

I am setting up a new set of purge criteria and noticed something strange on the date range ones (Created, Modified).  I chose the day of creation (same value filled in for start and finish), and then began adding more criteria... everytime I added a new criteria item, the date range for my Created item was reduced by a day. It's easily fixed if I remember to look at the dates, but very weird.  Is this something that's been noticed before?

Version: Windchill 12.1   Use Case: I created new instances in of a released family table my workspace while developing some new assemblies. I then added them to a change request that was then used to create a change notice to release the assemblies and revise the family table part. Now I cannot update the base part because it is incompatible with the new instances which cannot be deleted because they are on the change request. The admin cannot remove the new instances from the change request because he cannot see them on it. I can see them on the change request but cannot make changes. Description: How can we remove the new instances from the change request so that I can update the family table part?

My requirement is to search the user from Workflow Task > Resource pool .ResourcePool for a specific Task has the role and Groups Mapped . I need to Search the user by UserName in groups only that are allocated to the Resource Pool for that Workflow Task .I could find the Users and return the List of Users from The Context team  and specific Role . However ,  Challenge comes  , when user had to search for a User which is not a member of Group .Is there any API , I can Use to find the users that are member of Groups added to Resource pool? My action call is from ThingWorx and I need to create an WebService , which returns the user only if Present in Resource pool 

Has anyone (with limited or no customization), came up with a way to limit the type of a process object to select based on the base object type?   The use case I am investigating is this: Subtype of Change Review (called Milestone Review). I want users to create Problem Reports against the review to document issues found while completing the review using a subtype of a PR (Review Finding).    Ideally, even from the Action menu I would like the selection to be "New Review Finding" instead of "New Problem Report" when being created against the "Milestone Review" subtype.           Alternatively, when "New Problem Report" is selected, I would like it to default to "Review Finding" as the subtype in the New PR wizard  

We have configured our windchill to use port 8080 as 80 port is not available in RHEL server. could you please advise if there is a way to hide the 8080 port in our URL. we basically do not want the port number to be visible to anyone who access the windchill.

Currently, I've setup a basic document approval workflow in Windchill where the first task is to submit the document for approval and 'set up participants' of who to approve. Is there a way require that users actually 'set up participants' into the various roles? The set up participants is on a separate tab and it's easy for users to click submit without assigning anyone to the roles. Using Windchill 11.0 M030.
