Windchill

I'm fairly new to working with Profiles in Windchill.  In 12.1 I'm trying to work with the Standard Profile "Employee" which is defined as "Provides visibility to the Project, Product, Library, and Change Tabs but hides access to CAD data management functionality".  However it appears visibility to many CAD functionality options are enabled, as a matter of fact even the option "Create CAD documents" is enabled. In looking at the settings in 11.2 it appears that many of the CAD related options are disabled.  Wondering if these changes were intentional by PTC or just a mistake ?  About two months I created a case with PTC regarding this matter and didn't get any helpful advice. Other than document cs314954 has anyone come across a document which explains in better detail or which modules all the various options relate to ?  In the Profile I'm looking at the are over 400 options, as the PTC document list about 20 items only, most of which are self e

Having an issue with a calculated attribute on EPMDocument type to determine material thickness. Good dayI am new to Windchill and I am trying to synchronize my Windchill Revision numbers with the Documents.Let me give an example scenario below.1) Create New Document from local file - A.12) Document is edited by user until complete and checked in / replace content - A.23) Final draft of document is ready for review and approval, saved as pdf for review and signature. Document Checked in - A.3 and pdf sent out for Review and signature as A.3.4) 2 weeks later pdf is returned (reviewed, approved and signed as A.3)5) When i check it in as attachment to Document A.3 it then becomes A.4 but it is not A.4 it is A.3 Signed. What tips does anyone have to add attachments etc without changing the revision.? Regards

HI   I am performing similar kind of  export as per discussion here   can please share me the script ? all CAD Assemblies and CAD Components (Drawings, Formats and whatever can easily be added) but even so I used a direct dB sql select statement so that the script would have no limit on the number of objects it finds.   Regards, Manjunathj

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.2 and Datecode with CPS 11.2.0.1The search function and object filter function, which should appear in the upper right corner of the UI along with "Click Link," are not displayed. "Click Link," show only. Therefore, the search function cannot be used. What is the procedure to make them visible and usable?

I am trying to customize the BOM export to PDF under the structures tab. Any changes I make to the XSLFO.XSL file do not seem do anything. I'd like to add the filename, company name/logo in the header and change the color scheme. Does anyone have any tips? Do I need to run a command to update the template files once they are edited?    

Some users are facing windchill error while searching the objects "get reader() has already been called for this request". This has reproduced after 3-4 weeks again. 

what is the need of SSO configuration if windchill is integrated with Active directory of an enterprise.?because if user uses the AD credentials to login to windchill , how exactly SSO is helpful? does not it ask for any credentials while logging in if SSO configured ? Is AD integration mandatory for SSO implementation on windchill?

We want to assign the object name 'TEST_S325.5_46HP' to attribute values. We have 3 attributes: 'customer', 'emission', and 'engine'. We assign 'TEST' to 'customer', 'S325.5' to 'emission', and '46HP' to 'engine' without underscores in the object name.

Hi there,  I am currently trying to perform watermarking in Windchill, using Adobe experience manager. I am currently able to watermark PDF's when creating a new representation using the Visualization Configuration Administration, by uploading a DDX Template that defined the watermark. I have a few issues.  These templates are uploaded at the context level, and watermark every document within the context they are uploaded to. I would like to only watermark certain type of documents, and be able to select from a set of watermarks based on attribution/or workflow values in Windchill. This solution only allows me to upload a single DDX template and uses that watermark for all documents. In summary, we have 3 different watermarks, and want to dynamically choose which watermark will be applied. It would be done automatically, or through user input.  Is there a way to dynamically assign watermarks to PDF's in my scenario? If there is a way to do this in con

Trying to leverage Windchill's planning capabilities, and I have been wondering if anyone else has looked at this. At my place of employment, we have functional Programs and Projects. In Windchill we have logical ways to look at these (Programs, Products and Projects) and corresponding planning tools within each of these.   In my example below, We have Program X which has 4 dedicated resources. Within the program we have 3 projects. 1 of which is under configuration control, so it is a Product context in Windchill. The other two projects are in early formulation, so we are using Project contexts. Each of these projects has a subset of resources to carry out activities in the plans   Laying this out logically in Windchill, I want a Program context that has a plan (and a network including the product and two project contexts). Hi, When creating packages we run into the fact that in the collector all underlying documents are added to a package. This used to be OK, but recently we started using Referenced Documents as well. The problem I'm facing now is that when I create a normal WorkPackage using the default settings in Windchill, the system includes all documents, so also the reference documents:But I would like to have it include all documents, except the reference document type.I know I can manually exclude it from the collection rules using Edit Filter and then Type FilterHowever this is a manual action everytime and I think there should be a better way. Therefor I started looking around on the support pages and there I found an article describing this issue with a solution description, but I don't know how to implement:https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS157909 Could you help me by pointing me in the right direction? Hi all change objects experts around Is there ready tool in Windchill to list all change objects that are linked to an given object or to any of its dependency objects? For example I would like to get list of all problem reports, change requests, and change notices that have affected any time to any documents or parts needed make given WTPart. If there is no ready tool can this be achieved with report generator or some kind of advanced search?
