Good dayI am new to Windchill and I would like to describe a scenario for which I need some clarity on.I create a "New" editable word document in Windchill and get a Windchill number ex: Test001 and Rev A.1I then check out / Check in this document several times to edit it and end up with a final edition, lets say Rev A.7Now Everyone is happy and the CEO signs the document, saves it as a PDF and sends it back to me as the Latest approved version.Now I need to get this signed PDF document into Windchill and associate it somehow to the last Rev of the word document A.7 as they are in essence exactly the same except for file type (word to pdf) and the pdf is signed.1 month later the CEO decides to change something in the company and the word document needs to be updated so it is checked out, updated and checked back in making it Rev A.8 but the signed pdf is not the same anymore and doesn't reflect the new changes although it was signed.My question is what happens in this case where I have

I am using Windchill PartsLink Release 11.2 and Datecode with CPS 11.2.1.10my naming is not visible fully and my name field contains the length only 60 character and my autonaming length is around 94 character so that's why it is not showing full naming and we can't change length of the name field. so my question is we can apply the autonaming rule to the different field like description or any other attribute instead of name field?For more clarification please connect with - suraj.devarde@piterion.com

Hi all,Extremely new to Windchill, as I've never heard or used it really before. My team wants to utilize Windchill to just store various documents/files that we might need to refer/access for formal situations. These files would probably be associated with a version of our build. We were hoping we could somehow utilize the API as well to dynamically upload certain documents to Windchill well. We currently have an extremely fresh install of Windchill 12.1.2.0, with 2.5 REST. There is currently really nothing on Windchill, except for a single organization. Any direction that you suggest I go in? Is this a possible thing to do? Any help as greatly appreciated.

I am new to working with webjects and am trying to use the Create-Objects webject to create a Customer Experience object in Windchill. I am using Windchill version 11.1 M020. I created a simple webject to start with and am executing it as a task from the browser. I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.1 and Datecode with CPS M020-CPS24.We would like to search non latest objects. I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.1 and Datecode with CPS M020-CPS24The WGM conflict window stays in the background and the user does not understand what to do. When he kills the process, then he finds out that the window was there. As a workaround, use Win+tab to check all the windows open.

I am connecting one part to another in wtpPart to retrieve the AlternateNumber through Windchill. It appears in WtpartAlternateLink, but when I check the part via servlet/odata/ProdMgmt/Parts('OR:wt.part.WTPart:#######'), the 'AlternateNumber' comes as null. Can you please help me understand the reason for this? Is there a different method to add AlternateNumber to a part through Windchill? If so, could you please explain?

Good day AllI am compiling a document (Configuration Management Plan) for a project that we are working on  and in this document I am referring to Windchill as our enabler for Config Control of all the project documentation, drawings, Plans etc.Does anyone perhaps have a High-Level Workflow or explanation on Windchill and how it handles or facilitates Configuration Control as a whole.So, with other words, a High-level Configuration Control Flow process in Windchill. (Generic – Not specific to any Industry) and not specific to any of the standard flows within Windchill. Regards

Hello, I am currently developing an app that need to create links between WTDocuments through the Rest API for WIndchill 12.0_2_7. I already found this article about creating Describe links between Documents and Parts, which I've implemented successfully, but cannot find any information on creating Usage links between two Documents. Here is the article: Article - CS285572 - How to create WTPartDescribeLink / WTPartReferenceLink using Windchill REST Services in Windchill PDMLink (ptc.com)  Is there any documentation on how to implement this? Detail drawing was added with another drawing number in previous version. After that drawing is been broke out and created separate drawings with its own number. Now, when I associate CAD part, previous version of another drawing appears as calculated. I don't know how to remove this. As shown in image drawing 91 is unwanted. Current revision of 91 is "E" that don't include detail of 94. But Previous version of 91 (i.e. A) appears as calculated. 

I would like the description section to be able to paste images into the rich text content.  

Dear Members,               Greetings of the day!!    We have a task to public our Windchill URL to internet so that the remote users can also access the same when they are out of network.Can someone help us out with the resolution.Till now we have assigned one Static IP to the Windchill server but when we access Windchill through this the Apache asks for the credentials but after authentication the URL gets change to the Host name of the Windchill server ( e.g. http://host.mycompany.com:848/Windchill instead of 153.xx.xx.xxx/Windchill).Please suggest the solution if anyone of you have faced the same issue earlier.Your support will be appreciated.Thanks

Trying to setup reverse proxy with the requirement that internal users will  point to Internal Apache server ( https://test.pdmlink.group) and external users will point to Apache installed in Reverse Proxy server (https://reverse.pdmlink.group).After setting up as per the PTC article , when internal user access the application ( test.pdmlink.group) it redirects to reverse.pdmlink.group.And when external user access the application reverse.pdmlink.group , it shows error the requested URI not found in server. How to resolve this? Also when we implement reverse proxy , we cannot use old URL even for internal users?

Hi Guys,I am looking for a restriction on 'Reusable Attribute'.1. For example, my attribute name is Test and its type is String.2. Then i adding in WT Part, there we have a option Constraint. Right3. Rule which i want only 3 digits required that mean i can use String Length, but i want only numberic not alphabet which constraint we can use on here. Regards,Aj
