I would like to use the internal name for version e.g. 00 (and not iteration e.g. 00.5), from Windchill in a field code in word. I have managed it for the document number as illustrated by the two pictures attached. Any suggestion on which internal name to use?

Team Is it possible to GET OData data from within JSP code? It would GET from the local Windchill (localhost).  Do I have an authentication problem? 

All, I imported a big assembly into Creo and uploaded to Windchill. It's a lot of files. I no longer need this assembly. I can't delete by selecting all files because it appears there are several pages of files and I don't think it is selecting those files on following pages and is looking for the files it is referencing that it can't see. I tried to delete the folder itself. It appeared to be deleting the folder and the files within. However, it said I have reached the maximum limit for deleting files. I am not sure if I am being clear. Anyone know how to delete a folder that contains a large amount of files? WayneF

In an environment where SAML authentication is implemented, I would like to be able to remember the user ID and password each time I use WGM, as I need to enter them each time.

Those who know will likely know where this is coming from but I need to implement a warning/acknowledgement message to appear to users before then authenticate. Does this require form-based authentication or can this be done with Single sign-on. It also needs to work for Creo Parametric and Windchill Desktop Integration. Has anyone done this already?

Hi,We are using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030-CPS14We have observed recently that when a user tries to perform a checkout on some item, an error occurs. The same error appears when trying the same manipulation with an admin account.The error is the following :WARNING : Version already exists, cannot create a duplicateThe concerned items are not edited from any CAD software. Only attributes are edited from the Windchill interface.Did anyone face the same issue in the past?Any clue on what could be happening here?Thanks in advance for your help

Pre-Windchill, the descriptive name for our parts and assemblies was carried by a Pro/E parameter in the CAD file and Intralink used / displayed that model parameter. For several models, that parameter contained special symbols such as the diameter symbol or degree symbol as part of the Pro/E parameter descriptive name - all worked well. We now use the Name field in PDMLink to carry the descriptive name of the part (Housing, Winding...) and on migration, this field was populated with whatever was in the descriptive name parameter of the model. However, we've now found the special characters were all converted to "?N?" and anything I can find on PTC's help site indicates PDMLink can't handle these special characters (see Document CS2549, CS6514 and SPR 2053730 ). Has anyone else run into this? How did you end up handling it? Right now wer're left at doing a rename on these in Windchill to change "?N?" to something like "DIA". I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.0.0When I installed Windchill, I selected two languages: English and German. But I discovered one folder in which I can see all other languages. therefore my question is that there are now 2 lakhs of files in those folders, which Windchill can read when it is launched or run, therefore the reading time is high, can we delete any folders other than those two? It will not be affected in Windchill Right.

Hi Anybody using ContainerTeamHelper.service.findContainerTeamGroups() method to get groups from a container? I'm using this and getting the exception java.io.NotSerializableException.Anybody else facing the same with Windchill 12?I require a common method to get groups from PDMLinkProduct, Library and Project.

Hello Everyone, We are doing the Filtered extraction and trying to extract the Source ( WC 12.0.2.7 ) at Container Level for any type of Object and finally ending with com.ptc.windchill.migration.wbm.wc2wc.util.WBMException: (wt.fc.fcResource/0) wt.util.WTException:The operation: "getSeedDependents" failed.Request to please let me know, anyone has faced this issue while doing the Filtered extraction using WBM.

Hi, I am looking to delete a family table in a part. I remember in the past when the deleting the table I got some sort of warning that the instances would become standalone. I deleted the table and did not get a warning. I file the part as well as each instance in my workspace. I checked all out and then checked all in. There were no errors on check in. I looked at Windchill commonspace and the generic and instances were modified. The reason why I am breaking this table up is because I am trying to delete an assembly in common space. I am actually deleting an entire folder that is not related to anything else in Windchill. Its all standalone that I imported. I get a warning that it can't delete the generic because I need to also delete the instances. I don't know why? I broke the table and am selecting the generic and the instances. Maybe I'm missing something?

In environments where a network drive such as Azure BLOB is used for Vault, I would like to see a PG implementation that takes temporary network errors into account. I would like you to consider error handling and retry processing to reconnect several times when Windchill cannot connect to Vault.

Is there a way to read the contents inside a primary content of a WTDocument stored in Windchill through ThingWorx REST OData Connector when the Windchill is on single sign on mode? We are able to read the contents if the Windchill is on non-SSO mode. But on SSO mode, the mashup widget fails to read content from Windchill as it couldn't get authenticated.  We are on ThingWorx 9.3.7 and Windchill 12.1.2.5 Please help. Thanks in advance 

Good day EveryoneI would like to find out how i can edit or change the Document description once created in Windchill.I am able to Rename the Document but I need to also change the description.Now I have Documents with new or changed names but the description refers to something else. This can be confusing.

Good morning ,I am starting to install Windchill server in the company when I get to the part of integrating with Active Directory I am having difficulty, port 389 closes by telnet, I can ping the server with Active Directory, but it always returns the same error would I have something I can do to make this connection?

I know that OIR rules are the right method of defining what the right version series is for objects. I've used them in the past for some odd data that did not match our milspec version series that is our standard through the use of soft-types. I have struggled in the past managing customer/subcontractor data that used a different version series that ours. Most of the time we can gloss over differences. The question is, has anyone ever made the version series a choice? Or after creation of the object, altered it to a different series?   I can see a case where there are multiple alternate series available. If we get some data from a custom that does not fit, we can alter that object to shift to the alternate series. I am also looking ahead to future site integrations where those folks might be handling things differently that my site. I think that case would be better served with OIR settings but having the ability to reassign a series would be handy.
