windchill have started to update my page when I search. I can have my startpage loaded and then I search something and windchill autoupdate my page with something from the searchreasult without me choosing it. I want to see my searchresult and choose by myself what I want to open. In this case windchill choose it for me.

Hello, I have a requirement where I need to introduce an attribute to an object type which should allow users to look up Windchill users and add them as a value for that attribute, I would use this value and populate the team members for that object. We have a growing number of projects that should be closed or completed. These projects are getting old and the users may have moved on and the names of the people in the Project Manager role may not be active. Is there a way to set a default task to close the project (as a reminder)? It is the people in the project who should know when to close the Project and how to close it (suspend, cancel, complete, delete) it.

To all, I was looking for the preference in WindChill that would associate all models in a family table to the drawing the generic is on, without having to add all of the instances to the drawing. Hello everybody, I need kindly your support to try to understand the accesses rights menagement in PDMLink. If I delete an access to a single user context, it is no longer possible to open the assembled file which instead contains references to so many contexts.This is an example.The structure of the file XXX.asm contains parts that refer to the following contexts:EH0001_PARTS_IN_BODY_SERIESEH0002_COMPACT_DIRECTIONAL_VALVES_SERIESEH0003_MECHANICAL_VALVE_SERIESEH0004_INTEGRATED_CIRCUIT_SERIES.Although the user have access to ALL the contexts EXCEPT EH0003_MECHANICAL_VALVE_SERIES it is not possible to open the assembly. The user had access before, but now he no longer has it by decision of the board management.How can this be solved? Is there an option or configuration change in PDMLink?Thanks a lot

Hi, i followed this article to create a Document Linkage (to an Article) with OData: Article - CS285572 - How to create WTPartDescribeLink / WTPartReferenceLink using Windchill REST Services in Windchill PDMLink (ptc.com) Now, I'm wondering, if it's also possible to write several Document-ID's in the Request Body, to link them with only one request. Is that possible?

I've been working on getting our publishing under control and for the most part (with help from the great people and content here) things are going well. However, for whatever reason whenever I restart Windchill the first publish job always fails with the "Failed to register Windchill server xxx - - 15" error. Normally, I just republish that first job after a minute or so and things then start working well.    Is there a way to avoid this first job failing? Does it have to do with the order of events of restarting Windchill? 

Post rehost, it is working fine for .prt & failing for .drw files- In our case we are refreshing DEV env from Prod - We had performed revaulting on Prod & Test server - Current Dev server is refreshed before revaluating taken place in Prod env- While rehosting, we have created a new schema & imported Prod DB into it & performed rehosting- If we point DEV server to previous schema (before rehosting) publishing works fine but with current schema (new) publishing failed with err = -1 for .drw files

Yes i was trying to install in Windows 10 for test ( have installed oracle and configured it ) , i ran the install script for solution installation and got this error. The install folders ( software ) all start with MED-60   Note i am trying to install a fresh install of windchill on windows 10 ( not windows server ) Windchill PDMLink 12.0.0.0

I am building a test system for my Windchill upgrade to 12.0.2.6. Install Oracle 19c. Run the 12.0.2.6 PSI Setup to configure Oracle. It has been running for almost 20 hours and is stuck at 19% complete. I can see the database files have been created. SQLDeveloper shows the database. SQLPlus allows me to login in.   I have 2 options: 1) Is it safe to just kill the PSI process and keep going with the upgrade on the Windchill server. 2) Kill the process and start over with a clean Oracle install and then rerun the PSI Setup.  

Is it possible for me to simply exceed the 500 character limit of the string Length?  

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.2.3How is idA2A2 generated in the object DB tables like WTDocMaster, WTDoc?Is the value generated in sequence regardless of the table/object type?I verified the DB sequence, ID_Sequence but this does not seem to be generating the number in sync with the object creation.Please advise.

Hi all, I am having an issue with exporting as .step file from Windchill. We commonly do this to liason with suppliers, of course. My workflow is something like this: I save a .prt as as .stp and have it attached to the original .prt content in Windchill. Then, when I want to export this, I go to the part in Windchill and press the download button (circled in orange in attached screenshot). However, it brings up the prompt that can be seen in the middle of the attached screenshot where it tries to import the step file that I would like to export. This feature works how I want it to when I login to Windchill in a browser like Chrome, but I want it to work the same way in the Creo browser.  Any idea why this is? How can I ensure the download button actually downloads the file, not imports it as a new part. I have no problem with this workflow when I do the same thing with .stl files. Thank you!Jeff Houston

Need a method to link Change Notice and Change Request.Similar to "ChangeProcessLink.newChangeProcessLink" which allows CR to CR or CN to Cn linkage only.Any inputs?

I created parts and assemblies in creo, which is connected to windchill, so they were stored in the workspace of windchill. Then, I need to check them into the common space of windchill. But there are also files like "s2d0049.sec", "s2d0050.sec" and so on, which I did not create by myself, but they appeared in the workspace, after I had created the parts and assemblies. Does somebody maybe know what the ".sec"-files are, and whether they need to be checked into the commonspace? Because as far as I understand, you would also need to rename every ".sec"-file so that it is unique inside of windchill. Thanks a lot for any ideas and replies!

Working with 12.0.2 and shifting the location of my ldap from a temp WindchillDS server to an OpenDJ server with just has users in Administrative and Enterprise branches. I noticed in the site.xconf these values: If the configuration has been moved from the LDAP server to json files and this location is different from where my users are managed currently after the upgrade, what is this doing? It appears to be entries from initial base install before my upgrade rehearsal. The values are written to the ieStructureProperties.txt file in the WEB-INF folder.  In previous versions, this is where Windchill read its configuration from the LDAP. Is this just a hold over that PTC will eventually clean up? Or does it still have some function?    

Side effect of flipping who creates out Change Notice objects. We had previous automated creation so wcadmin was the creator. We finally flipped back to more OOTB where uses can create (I do not use Change Admin roles). When the ESI workflow kicked off, it failed since the creator of the CN whom it uses in ESI did not have rights to create an ESI Transaction.
