why are vaults required in windchill though we have a database set up for windchill for storing the data including CAD models and files. what are vaults and Database? what stores in vaults and what stores in database? please explain in details.

Just need to verify if this is a bug or not, to compare to another system. Noticed on my upgraded system that the esignature password field which used to be below "password" is not thrown to the right. My 11.1 system has it on the left. Not a huge deal, likely a CSS issue but can't see why it would be done this way. What does your 12 system show?

Hello,   I am experiencing an issue when I try to open Solidworks assemblies from Windchill where all the part files in the assembly are not being brought into the workspace. This causes parts to become suppressed. When I un-suppress the suppressed parts, Windchill is able to find the part files and bring them into the workspace without issue.    Does anyone know why this is happening? It seems that sub assemblies inside a larger assembly experience the issue more often. Also, it seems random which files become suppressed with different users experiencing issues with different assemblies. Any advice or guidance is appreciated!

I cannot verify exactly but have seen enough cases where I thought I might task field. We have some custom apps in Navigate controlled by a group. If your in the group, you get access. Randomly, users report that they cannot see the custom app tiles like they used to. Sure enough, I check and they are not in the group. Simple, you add them to the group and move on.     Except, I've seen a handful of these cases and was almost certain that these folks were there before. Has anyone see this or know the cause? Running 8.5.3. I guess I can make an export of the group and see if it changes in future to prove that they were there before and not now. Very strange.

I have had lots of issues through the years trying to get CAD workers to run consistently. There are various issues involved, including Windows fault messages, SolidWorks debug messages, and uwgm_clients left running after CAD application has a bad exit.   This is what I am currently using for SolidWorks, and it has been working without an issue for a while. I thought I would share it in case it helps anyone else. I will assume that you have a SolidWorks worker setup.   Setup a Windows 10 machine to auto logon on boot. In most cases I suggest doing the auto login using a local account, not a domain account. There are registry settings on how to do this. Google that. For companies that have a policy statement you need to agree to before the login will complete, ask the IT department to create an OU that disables the policy statement, and put the publishers in that OU. Set the Worker Daemon to run in the foreground. I use Task Scheduler to start the application on login. With

I'm looking to add an action to the PrimaryContent attribute in General group under the Details Tab as shown in the attached image.Just like how the PDF icon in the value downloads the PDF when clicked upon, I need to add another icon that performs an action.Could anyone help me with it? I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.0.2Is there any way to easily copy/paste text from any displayed table to the Windows clipboard. We have a promotion approver that handles houndreds of numbers a day. The click/drag/Ctrl+C option is just not handy enough. 

We are upgrading to Windchill 12.0.2 and it seems like Detect Discrepancy action is behaving inconsistently in both Windchill BOM transformer and MAPSB. For certain scenarios, it's not able to identify expected differences.  Anybody has observed this behavior? Do you have more insights into how this is supposed to work?
