Hello, I want to add a SOAP webservice in Windchill which the other systems can invoke to send data to Windchill server. Please let me know the steps to register the same and the steps to invoke it. Thanks in advance. Regards,Hari 

I am creating service document library using Windchill classification explorer based on the attribute type & values. Our service documents are stored in MSword & PDF files and i believe it is unable to create classification explorer library using document attributes. To avoid this issue i have created WT Part with same document attributes (Service doc is attached to related objects) and created classification library. Is that correct approach? Do we have any other way to create library in Windchill? Can we create WT part for document objects, till now i have created only for CAD files, share your knowledge on this?

We are unable to copy paste the activities in running project schedule. Copy and paste available during project plan creation (Defined and scheduled state)  Copy and paste NOT available during project running (Running and Inprocess)  Since copy and paste feature is not available, we are creating existing activities repeatedly, when required. Any work around and am I missing something? Thank youSathish Rosario 

Kicking around OpenDJ for my Dev server of Windchill 12.0.2. Since LDAP is only going to be storing users now (right?), is there a preferred convention for the LDAP base DN?  Does it matter anymore? I stuck with o=ptc like we did for previous installations. Is the distinction between Enterprise and Administrative gone as well?

When creating a saved report and using the 'New Data Monitor' function to create a scheduled report the only file formats available are: .html, .csv, .pdf, or .xml.XLS or XLSX are not an options and do not look to be configurable.

Windchill 11.2 REST API 1.7   Hello all,   I’ve been trying to pull the attribute constraints for parts classification but have been coming up short.  I’ve found a few things that seem promising at first glance, but results end up being… confusing.   PTC Documentation says that the follow are the “Classification Constraint Types”: Enumerated Value List External Enumerated Value List Immutable Legal Value List Lowercase No Duplicate Values Regular Expression Required Single-Valued String Format (deprecated, use regular expression now) String Length Suggested Value List Uppercase Valid Range Wildcard   I probably don’t need to get all of them.  The most important ones would be Legal Value List, Valid Range, String Length, and Required since these seem to be used the most.  (Knowing how to get all of them would be great though.)   1.  Windchill REST API (1.7 API V2):  The PTC Classification Structure Domain has /GetEnumTypeConstraintOnClfA

How can I display the attachment(s) which are on the change task(s) on the change notice the change tasks belong to ? Or how can i get the attachments of a change tasks ?

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030-CPS07This has happened twice in the last week, and it is causing outages of my PROD Windchill System for about 5 mins whilst the FG MS's all restart (it takes out all four FG MethodServers, but not BGMS).How do I discover what is causing this - because the logs don't give any detail, just loads and loads of the of the errors?ThanksGary

After connecting eclipse with windchill, I get an error to start the server. error: warn wt.manager.ServerLauncher - Starting Servermanager windchill.

Like in the title, the worker agent on our machine does not create thumbnails for files with extension .prt .asm .dwg so we can't see it. All other files work fine and the worker can process the jobs. Is it a problem that the worker is configured with creo parametric 4.0 but designers used 8.0 on their local machines? 

Hello, I wanted to write JUnit test cases for Windchill customizations, I am not able to find a guide document for the same, can any of you shed some light on how one can start writing test cases for Windchill code ?.  Good afternoon! Thanks for taking a look.  I'm going to apologize in advance, I probably have some of the terminology wrong. We are running WC v12.0.2.1 We are writing MIL-STD-40051 documents with Arbortext and storing in WC.  The parent documents usually have at least two dependents (REMOVE instructions and INSTALL instructions),.  They sometimes several pairs of REMOVE and INSTALL instructions to cover different models.  The child documents are included using an xi:include, referencing the child's WC ID, for example,href="x-wc://file=0004567890.xml" In several parent documents, WC seems to have lost track of the dependency status of the child documents.  The xi:include command still works correctly.  If I open the parent document in Arbortext, WC populates all the child documents via xi:include.  The problem is that since WC does not recognize one or more of the child files as a dependent, when I open th

Hi, when I try to edit a test case using im editissue --field=Title="My Title" idxx (where idxx is my test case id) I receive the following error Could not save modified item idxx: MKS124079: The field "Title" is not a valid field in the Type "Test Case".Using " im viewissue idxx " -> can see that field Title is there.How to make it work ? I tried updating the title manually (from gui) and it works, but still cannot use im editissue (....) and it's important for scripting.

I wanted to connect eclipse with windchill and create new classes. The connection was made and there were classes used in the com package. As soon as I created and uploaded new classes into the com package, the .class files in windchill were deleted and the test system stopped working. What can I do for it?

Dear all, when a ESI xml is generated, the number and date formats are always following the language that the user has chosen in the UI. That means e. g.English : 0.000German: 0,00 (Comma instead of a dot)Same for date formats.This is very annoying because the connected systems are getting the values in the wrong formats and this is then causing errors..Is there any way to confiqure that behaviour in order to get date and numeric values always in englishformat? We are using Version 11.1. Thanks,Juergen

CreoView Publishing has been running fine for a couple of years, but last week, it quit. The message is "Failed to Register Windchill Server <workspace_name> --15. Nothing has changed from a Windchill standpoint, no username or password changes, etc. The only change might be a Windows update patch that IT installed in 1/13. I am still waiting on word from them if the installed any patches. They say no patches installed . Does anyone have any ideas what may be wrong. I have deleted the cache files as recommended in CS articles, checked the auth.properties file, etc.

After creating a part ("DIM_TESTING_CONTEXT"), is there any way of adding "TEST_PART_1" and "TEST_PART_2" using the REST API?  

Recently did an upgrade of PDMLink 11.1 to 12.0 on a test sever, and we wanted to re-index all of our Solr entries. Running Solr on a standalone server, and deleted the existing entries to start the re-index. All of the entries are failing. Double checked the connections and made sure the Solr admin and password match on the 2 servers. i know you now longer have to create the cores, but was wondering if I should blow them away and do a manual build. Just inquiring to see if anyone else has experienced this. Many thanks in advance!

When doing an upgrade on different virtual hardware, UpgradeManager modified my production database and now Windchill will not start. My first comment is that this should NEVER happen. I do upgrades on new computers so my existing systems remains viable. Now that I have a corrupt system due to PTC, how do I restore it? I have backups taken about a 6 weeks before the attempted upgrade. That is my fault for not taking them just before the upgrade. My backup data consists of the Oracle DB, the file vaults and an LDIF export. What had me confused was that my source Windchill system was still running after the failed upgrade attempt. Only when IT rebooted the computer did the issue come up with the method servers failing to start due to incompatible data. So, what steps do I need to take to restore the system to my April backup? I am thinking about wiping both systems and rebuilding them from scratch and then importing the Oracle and LDIF files and restoring the vaults. Is there a restore m
