Hello all,something I surprisingly enough did not find in discussions...Nobody really asked about it so far and we've managed with just admin set state, but: How do you manage approval / Promotion of document templates?How do I remove them from search results so that users are not able to download the file from there instead using New Document from Template in Desktop Integration tools? Hello,   I am stuck with deleting objects due to the following error:   Referential integrity violations occurred for this operation: ... Object "EPMDescribe Link - wt.epm.structure.EPMDescribeLink:37206516" references the object "wt.epm.EPMDocument:37180131" that was removed from the system. Just opening this thread as I haven't seen it anywhere else. Have the been any talks about the log4j exploit and Windchill? We are on Windchill 11 so I would assume we are open to the vulnerability but haven't seen anything mentioning it anywhere on PTC's sites. Just looking to get ahead of this in any way possible.Figured I would open this thread publicly instead of a support case as it is affecting everyone.

I have created a problem report using various information in it and I want to add the user's first name, last name, title, admin. As this information is available in LDAP, it is also available in Windchill. But I guess I can't reflect it on the info page because the alias is arttibute. I wanted to share this as another method of sending emails. This option has you turning off send notification on a workflow task, mine is called "CCB Review". In a workflow expression, I call out my helper class and method like so:   customization.workflow.MyWorkflowProcessHelper.sendNotifications((wt.workflow.engine.WfProcess)self.getObject(),"CCB Review");   This looks up all workitems that match that task name and creates its own email. They key here is the bolded lines in "createNotification". Here is where you can change the template processor AND the html template. It's a real boon to see that family CAD members / variants are interrelated inside windchill tab titled 'Family', however I have trouble seeing a similar relation in between the corresponding windchill parts. Is it possible to set windchill so that it shows family related windchill parts members as it does with Creo related CAD parts ?

I have a request from a user to combine a series of files that their team created separate objects for each iteration of the file instead of checking out and uploading new versions into the one primary base object.    there are a total of 4 objects/file series, each having multiple revisions.   How do I "easily" create one composite object from these 5 objects and still keep the the most current one "on top"?  I have attached the snip of the objects I need to combine.   The requestor would like the top file in the snip to be the parent object.

Hi teamDo a search for 'transaction' in the WRS 2.2 manual (link 1 below). I get 8 hits. In particular, the 8 page section 'Processing HTTP Requests for OData URLs' starting at p.45 is necessary reading. I wish it contained an example.  Clearly the transaction mechanism is intended to guard POST requests. And see 'Change sets do not support the GET operation.' on page 80. Now there is an example, thanks! Now my question: suppose that you need to make two GET requests in succession for a report, and Windchill data can change between the requests. As per your original post.    TomU: "If Windchill is installed from scratch, it will have a different Host-ID, and then a new license file will have to be generated from the support website"   I have one Windchill system with a license file running. I am getting ready to put a second one online. Do I just request a new license file for the new Windchill system? This new system is not on the internet and the license file must be loaded directly. I will have a third Windchill system to request a license for later in the month. I do keep them all separated when they get downloaded. What happens if I need to regenerate a license? Will I need to generate 3 new files for each system? I am guessing that I cannot use 1 file for all  3 systems as they have different license IDs.

We have a situation where a subcontractor has delivered Rev A of a part which we have tested and are now ready to incorporate into the system we will deliver to our customer. In the meantime the subcontractor has continued work on the product and has delivered the part with added functionality, but have delivered it as Rev B with the same part number, ready for us to test.However when we go to add the part into our overall product structure there is no way to select a specific version of the subcontractor part; that is, because Rev B is now in our PLM system there doesn't seem to be any way for us to add Rev A into the product structure.Does anybody have any way around this, or thoughts on what we can do?

Hello everybodyI would like to avoid to republish all iterations of all moved articles.If I do a move from one context to another one, the cad worker re-publish again all viewables of all items and on every iterations.Apparently Windchill uses the rule publish on=unknown-source but I want to use this rule if I do a set state but not when I move items (whatever the state)Any ideas?thanks Veronique

I am familiar with notebooks and discussions but modern interfaces allow for copy/paste of rich text and images very easily. Has anyone heard of plans to support aside from descriptions on change objects?  I thinking about something similar to One Note but a method of focusing and capturing information loosely but related to some object. Having to save files to then upload them is out of fancy don't you think?  There is some drag and drop but screen grab copy/paste would be very handy.

I made multiple parts using Excel Analysis in Creo and checked it into Windchill. (I'm using Windchill 10.2 MO30.) After I checkout the file from Windchill the link between Creo and Excel is broken and a new Excel with random name opens, any changes made to this Excel do not reflect in the part. I tried to edit the Excel Analysis hundreds of times, and once in a while (like 1 in 30) it so happens that correct Excel opens and changes made to this Excel do reflect in Creo. Why is this happens?

We have started the process on a test/dev server of upgrading from PDMLink 11.1 M020(CPS19) to 12.0.2.0. Now that WindchillDS is no longer part of the install package, how did you handle the upgrade process? Did you migrate to an approved DS before upgrading, or did you use the existing 11.1 DS? Or did you have to install a new standalone 11.1 DS? Any help is most appreciated!

Hi there, since PTC called Windchill Essentials obsolete and refuses to extend license - subscriptions beyond mid 2022, I have to choose between switching to the "big" Windchill or to a completely different solution. Switching to "full" Windchill would cause costs which would be comparable to a engineers salary.So, if we would stay with ptc, I am afraid we would have to loose one of our colleagues (finances are stretched after almost two years of covid).I really would like to keep all of our engineers. So can anyone recommend a PLM / PDM solution besides PTC?(I hope this Post does not get cut by the moderators, because it is "bad for business").Or tell me about an other PLM-solution from PTC for small companies, that I do not know yet. Thanks /me

Dear Community, we are planning to change the Windchill Authentication to Form Based Authentication.Windchill is connected to the Active Directory of the customer as well.How does the configuration look like in the tomcat settings?
