Windchill

We have a document template stored at the Org level. Is it possible to route such a document for approvals? The idea is to control the template itself.    Has anyone done something similar?

This is the first time I am trying to use a proxy process.  I am trying to use it in a change activity workflow so that it doesn't get so messy.  I have an expression robot getting information from the parentChangeOrder before a user task that uses a variable that gets it's value from the expression robot.  If I avoid the proxy process all is good and it does not error out.  Once I go down the path of the proxy, it will execute the last process before the proxy and then give an error that seems to point to the variable parentChangeOrder.  However none of the code has syntax errors when I check.  I do have the parentChangeOrder in both the activity workflow and the proxy workflow (and actually started without it in the proxy).  Is the proxy process supposed to have a sync robot in the beginning?  PTC documentation isn't much help.  We are on 11.1.   ERROR [WfPropagationQueue.PoolQueueThread-211] WF_EXEC_EXPR Administrator - compile - OUT

Hi All, I can get change request using this rest service GET : "/Windchill/servlet/odata/ChangeMgmt/ChangeRequests('OR:wt.change2.WTChangeRequest2:250300')?$expand=AffectedObjects", but I want to get this OID "OR:wt.change2.WTChangeRequest2:250300" from WTpart which should be navigate.   - Tried with this api but can't get change request object id. GET : "/Windchill/servlet/odata/ChangeMgmt/Changeables('OR:wt.part.WTPart:262627')?$expand=AffectedByObjects" Can anybody help to get this change object, is there any Windchill rest API?   Thanks.

Hello  I have a strange issue that suddenly popped up without warning. I cannot anymore publish Creo drawings to PDF. I cannot even choose to publish them manually in Windchill even, the choice when creating a representation is not there anymore. This has been working beautifully before and just gave up with nothing being changed in the publisher config recently ( in the last 5 months). Our customer noticed occasionally when he and his team would create new comments on existing topics in Windchill the incorrect topic would generate in the new comment window.  He asked us, the IT staff, to see if we could determine the issue.  We reviewed the issue and ran through several test to determine that when there is more than one space between numbers in the Topic name that is when the issue occurs.  The resolution we provided was to take out any extra spaces between numbers in the topic names.  However, we aren't sure if this is a realistic expectation and wanted to reach out to PTC to see if they are working on a resolution to this issue.   Here is a little more detail, when right clicking a topic (IE - TEST 5   6789) to create a new comment.  In the new comment window, the topic pre-selected from the drop-down is (4th   TEST) rather than (TEST 5   6789).  They are able to change it to (TEST 5   6789)

I'm looking to either customize the OOTB  multilevel Components List report such that it includes assemblies, subassemblies, and 'components', or to create a new report that can do this I looked into Query Builder and it cannot create a recursive BOM and have searched all the forums but all I've found is a feature request for this.  Any help would be appreciated.  

  Customer has purchased only one license. Since Administrator user is consuming one license ,unable to allocate license for customer. Is there a license exclusion list/group to avoid consuming license by Administrator ?.What is the process?

We are storing some Electronic Control Unit configuration files in a WTDocument for version control as they will be physically loaded onto the ECU at the end of the production line. The problem we have at the moment is the file itself has the version in the file name ie 123456_v1.s19 but when the Document is revised it carries the primary content forward, so we end up with a document revision and primary content revision not matching. So the suggestion from the users manging these files is to remove the content after revising, of course this is not ideal as its not guaranteed they will do it and its extra steps to do it.   So Im sure somebody can write me a fancy customisation to do it, but is there a more simple way to acheive the same end result: No primary content on a new Revise?

Hi there,   if I want to upgrade an existing installation from Windchill Essentials 11.1 M010 to 11.1 M020, do I only have to run WindchillSetup.exe and have to choose "Installation for Upgrade" (Let's assume that WinDU has found no problems)?   Cheers Mat

Hello to all, I'm trying to set up a color code search to view the life cycle states of my Windchill WT PARTs in Creo View. As you can see in the Windchill structure (in image 1) the WTPARTs are in state: Encoded, Approved and Study. In Creo View I set the search with the part_lifeCycleState attribute and also tried with part_lifeCycleName (image 2). Maybe I am doing something wrong in setting this query because I have no result. There is a part's supersedes features available at Windchill Apps. But we need the REST API to retrieve this info, this is especially important for integration between different PLM systems. 

Has anyone noticed that I.P. is not available to be selected from the "Customize" button in version 12?  We have a custom page for our users and that is the first one on the page.   This is version 11.0 M030   Version 12.0.1.1

Hi Experts, I am trying to get resulting Objects added to the change task before they are persisted to the database, as I am trying to put a constraint on the resulting object. I want only the resulting object having design view to be permitted and if other parts are added it should not allow him to create the change notice. So is there a way I can get the resulting object before they are persisted.

I got this request from a partner who asks if there is anyone in PTC or Partner community who implemented a 2 steps verification of Windchill authentication? The process is something like: The user submits his credentials The systems sends an SMS with a OTP or asks to enter one generated by a mobile app The system asks to enter the OTP before letting the user access the system I don't think we support anything OOTB, but maybe someone integrated a third party solution workiing with Windchill or our SSO architecture supporting this process.

When this was working properly miss-spelled words were suggested with the correct spelling, but now the suggestions are miss-spelled or foreign language or just nonsense.

I have a workflow that is used on almost all of our parts.  One of the functions of this workflow is to set the states of the promoted items.  It works correctly a majority of the time.  Sometimes though, it doesn't.  The windchill logs seem to tell me that the workflow is trying to set state on items in a user's workspace which of course it can't.  I don't know why it is even looking at workspaces. I am having a strange issue with publishing Office Word documents that contain an A3. It is happening on one system and cannot be reproduced by PTC. We are using Office 365 and using the MS Office to publish NOT Adobe. The recipe is OOTB and worker is installed on Windchill server. Publishing seems to work fine for all word documents except the ones containing an A3 page. I am attaching a sample doc that fails publishing.
