I have a sneaking suspicion that this is not possible but maybe someone can think of something I can't. I am specifically trying to find all cad models (part or assembly) that contain a coordinate system named "csys-entry". However this question extends to any feature in a model. Can anyone think of a way to do this? I am asking this in the Windchill section because of its reporting capabilities but am open to solutions that may include other tools.
According to this document: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS277240 Towards the bottom is this section: License Validation and Shutdown Behavior Upon start-up and every 24 hours, Windchill synchronizes with PTC backend system and checks for valid license. If the license is invalid or the subscription term has expired, then Windchill shuts down. A grace period of six hours is provided by PTC before shutting down the Windchill instance. In the case of cluster environment, Windchill will shut down in all the nodes. Administrators are presented with notification message before shut down.If Windchill is with active license file and if the daily synchronization fails then Windchill will not shutdown. My question is: What if your Windchill system is NOT on the internet and therefore cannot communicate with PTC's servers once every 24 hours? What happens to your WIndchill? Are there alternative methods for doing a license che
I have worked through the tutorial of setting up a simple search from saved searches. What I would like to do is default the saved search to a specific one and not have the saved search list visible. I assume I could call the oid of that search but cannot get that to work.
In 11.0 I have my method servers, background method server and server manager pointing to their own java executable. Not all of the preferences that I have in my site.xconf file are available in 11.2. Has anyone done this yet for 11.2? What are the preferences I need to set and how do I set them?
Hello everyone, how can I access through a JSP file to a database table. I am using MSSQL, at the moment I can refer to the table "EPMDocumentMaster" if I write <jca: describe Table var= "tableDescriptor" type= " wt.epm.EPMDocument" .But I do not understand why the names are different, how to know the name type?Error if I write the name as in the database: Windchill Error No type can be discovered for descriptor: ComponentDescriptor [id="CustomMenubar" label="Part Table" summary="null" disableAction="null" mainType="null" configurableTableId="CustomMenubar" modelAttributes="null" properties="[menubarName:CustEx_table_menubar,saveInitialRows:false,actionModel:CustomToolbar,selectable:true,]" dataUtility="null" descriptorList="[ComponentDescriptor [id="classnamekeyroleAObjectRef" label="Название столбца" summary="null" disableAction="null" mainType="null" configurableTableId="null" modelAttributes="null" properties="[pdesc:CustomMenubar, sortable:true, ascending:true, dataStoreOnly:fal
Is there a way to show whether a file can be shared to a Project or not BEFORE it's shared? For example, on the structure tab of an assembly if there were to be a column view with a "yes you individual user can share this" or "you don't have permission to share this file"... Any thoughts on whether this can be set up?
Hello everyone, where can I see how the tables that are already on the site were created? I want to understand how they are built, so that I can try to make my table on a real example.
It's possible to load automatically the last version of the standard parts from a specific folder in windchill? If i update version, for example, of a start part (called "new_prt_template.prt"), i have to reset whenever the file path in the CONFIG.PRO. Now in the file path compair the version of the start part (in this case "G.2"): "wtpub://Windchill/Start Part CAD/new_prt_template.prt|v=G.2" Thank you. Marco
We have a number of Business Rules in place - which work fine. But the rule conflict tells the user to solve it on the top level part only. But not specifically where in the structure the conflict is. Our structures are huge. Any idea or experience how to point the user to the conflict location in a huge structure? thanks in advance Andreas
I'm trying to install Windchill 11.2 on my Windows Server 2019 with SQL Server 2017 (yes it is in the matrices), but am having issues. I can get everything to install and connect to Windchill but I cannot login to SQL Server as the database user. The user that I create during Windchill SQL setup is not listed in the local users like it was in 11.0. Has anyone else had issue? Has anyone had a successful installation and be able to connect to the database with the database user? Thank you, Brian
Hello, please tell me why I can not delete the last iteration? I have all tasks closed

After much work to stabilize the CAD worker and publishing environment, we started to (want to) depend more on publishing and packaging to generate secondary content. We have the AfterEDRLoader running https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS216668 (option 2) with the idea that when we create packaging, secondary content added as attachments to the primary EPMDocuments would get pulled in as well for our manufacturing teams/vendors. This works well when the secondary content exists as attachments. However, we don't seem to have the representation content getting pulled in (i.e.: if i have say a .pdf, .stp and a .stl generated as part of a new representation, that content doesn't get included in the package). That was the whole reason for going option 2 with the AfterEDRLoader to have that content added into the attachments. So now what we'd I'd like to do is to have a generation of a delivery zip file trigger publishing for primary content that for whatever reason migh
I am trying to import/create a list of users that I have on a spreadsheet and I was wondering if there is a way I can do this as a bulk.
Hello everyone, please tell me how to find information, how to name a java file? I'm doing an example from the documentation, but I have a difficulty how to name the file that should be created on point number 3
Hi all, In PDMLink a New Promotion Request was initiated from wtPart. With the collectors CAD-models were added and also drawings without noticing that the drawings are only in Project context. Still, they were added to the Promotion Request and state changed to Approved once the process went through. Once the drawings were "Send to PDM" their state changed back to initial which is according to Windchill product spec. But... it does not make sence how Promotion seemed to work, does it? We have a slightly modified workflow, but I would not expect there's something that affects this behaviour. 11.0 M030 CPS 14
I have a family table of parts with 33 variants. I have a second family table of 33 assemblies that uses those 33 parts and adds a few extra standard components. Depending on the assembly variant, certain sub components are turned on and off - hence the QTY changes. I've used the "compare to part" utility to update my WT parts with the structure from the CAD. This seems to have set the QTY of sub parts from the generic as the quantity for every variant, even when there are less. I'll put some numbers and names to it: Parts Family Table: ( Plate Generic Plate 1 Plate 2 .... Plate 33 ) Cover Rivet Assemblies: Family Table ( Plate Assembly Generic - Plate Generic x 1 - Cover x 4 - Rivet x 8 Plate Assembly 1 &nb
I deleted the Org Admin group by accident, thinking it was one I had created. I have recreated a new ORG ADMIN group in Participant Administration and added the users that should be in the group. However, when I go to The Organization page and select Administrators, I get the heading of Organization Administrators, but I get the following error message when I go to add a user to that grouping. Unable to update deleted group "ORG ADMIN". How can I get this list to populate with the Org Admins? Windchill 11.0 m030 CPS08
Hi, I want to automatically generate pdf and dxf file from drw file while publishing it on Windchill. Is there any way to solve this because for now, I do it manually.
"Send to PDM" from project context fails with the prompt ATTENTION: The object with the following key was deleted or inaccessible: "wt.epm.EPMDocument>xxxxxxxx" Searching the SQL database table EPMDocument with the id referenced in the prompt does not produce any results. For such a case I understand there's the script #2 in this article for Oracle, but not for MS SQL... https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS131389 Anyone have such, or other ideas?
Any one can explain those difference? Here is what my understanding: Check out: you can only check out to a workspace check out to workspace: don't understand this one add to workspace: create a copy to workspace, there is no link between copy in workspace and file in the Windchill
The parameter "PTC_WM_Created_by:d" isn't created until the actual drawing for a part is created, preventing it's use in a drawing boarder (for a newly created drawing from a format). How have others tackled this conundrum? The suggestions I've read are: Drive it from a part/assembly level parameter. Reapply the format after drawing creation. Add it to a table that gets inserted after drawing creation. Up until recently, our drawings have been part/assembly attribute driven. We're working to correct that, and are driving much more of the content from Windchill. Our template parts now have very little in terms of parameters. This is one of the last hold outs. It seems it's easier to keep it as a parameter.
Good afternoon, what Templates can be used to edit the task and Promotion Request pages in Windchill. And how to see the result and appearance after editing?
Hi, We have completed an upgrade from WC 10.1 to 11.1 and are now working through licensing. Our guestimate for licensing was defined last December while negotiating our renewal contract with PTC. Unfortunately, Windchill 10.1 does not have any license tools, so there was no way to know what the true need would be. iRobot is a typical MCAD/ECAD/PLM customer running Creo and Windchill. The additional modules we have are Partslink, Supplier Management and Product Analytics for Cost. Now that we've upgraded, a few things have come to light that are not apparent on the support pages. Most importantly, don't underestimate the true number of Author licenses you'll need. The Contributor license sounds good, but it is strictly limited to document checkout/checkin and participation in tasks. Partslink and Supplier Management are required for every Author license(this is part of the purchase agreement) Partslink and/or Supplier Management CANNOT be added to a Contrib
