I am getting error " wt.doc.WTDocument.toWTDocument(java.lang.String)" while creating WTDocument of document type "test_doc".

I have datasheets and request emails to attach to parts, hundreds at a time.I don't want to use the commandline (NMLoader) method, although i have in the past, one reason is that it leaves no traces (iterations).Is there a way to use ImportSheetType=Document, can I see an example please?I have been creating parts using Import From Spreadsheet, that works well most of the time.Hans SchulzeI am surprised that online help doesn't mention this function much.  Was there a manual or guide written for it?

We have WT Documents with an attribute called EXPIRATION_DATE, and is populated with a date yyyy-mm-dd. The WT document is located within a Product. I want to create a report that will search a Product for all documents and display the expiration date. Other fields would also like to be shown, like name, number, description, title, state, revision.   Can someone out there help me with how to use Query Builder, if in fact that is the best way to accomplish this??   After I receive the report I want to modify it to list all those documents which expire in 10, 30 and 90 days from a date. This could be done in Excel.. no need for help with this.   Thank you in advance.

Hello ,   I have a setup installed with navigate 1.1 and windchill 10.1 Some IBA Values like version is not displaying completely like iteration are not displaying in it . Also in PartListApp the table is not population sharing some of the logs of thingworx . It would be great if anybody could help on the same .   Kind Regards , Amar

I've installed the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 6.3 using the turn-key installation. What I need to do now is run the admin UI over https using a certificate signed by our Certificate Authority (CA). I've tried using what I can find on the Adobe site to create a certificate signed by our CA and configure the Experience Manager to use that certificate but I when try to connect over port 8443 it still creates a self-signed certificate.   I know PTC doesn't support running the AEM 6.3 over SSL but  has anyone had any luck (or tried) to configure a turn-key AEM 6.3 installation to use a certificate signed by a CA?

I'm trying to understand how a change notice could be used in place of a promotion request. Does the change notice need an implementation plan and change tasks or is the change notice object itself sufficient to handle the promotion process? Where do I choose the target state for the objects being promoted?  There is a page on the promotion request wizard to select the target state but I'm not seeing anything like this in the change notice or its related change tasks. Same question for reviewer and approvers.  Where are these roles selected if using a change notice? Thanks!

Dear Community, Looking for some guidance. I am just starting to configure Supplier Management on WC 11 M020. One of the first steps seems to be to create the Suppliers. To do that, I seem to need to create a New Organization in the Participant Admin page for each Supplier as that is used when you create the Suppler. Then you can select the Organization or create on at the same time. What I want to do is use a different Organization ID than the default list (CAGE Code / DUNS NUmber / ISO 6523). We would like to use the ID number generated in Oracle (ERP) for each approved supplier. How do I get to that pick list? I do not see it on the Attributes list for Organization ID in the Type and Attribute Management for Organization at Site or Org. So, how do I update that list?

The feedback I received was that there would be interest in posting/discussions on Migration.  This document is an initial post with an overview of the options. We are weighing software options for advancing our management of product development projects.  We're evaluating tools in our ERP system (Infor Syteline), a custom tool and possibly Windchill ProjectLink, as we use PDMLink for managing project related information (primarily CAD).  A couple of  resources have told me ProjectLink really isn't a tool that allows you to manage resources, predict and track project timing, integrate cleanly with tools such as MS Project (contrary to PTC's literature) etc. - that it was more of a way to more easily share information, including CAD data, in a less controlled "sandbox" format as product is in early development  / "what -ifed" versus later pre-production or released to production phases of its lifecycle which might be more tightly controlled in PDMLink.  Is this accurate?  Any experience based advice / words of wisdom / opinions on the capabilities and proper application of ProjectLink?Regards,Erik Gifford

Can we link a task in ProjectLink today with a workflow step? For example, I can have a workflow with a series of steps and each step can be mapped to a task in ProjectLink(Gantt Chart). Now, upon completion of a workflow step, the Gantt chart (task) can be updated as "Complete".So, project management is automatic and no need for the project manager to go around to find out what tasks are complete to update ProjectLink (Gantt chart)? It is updated real-time!

Our IT dept is transitioning all our servers to the cloud and is asking for a time study.   They would like to know how much time certain activities take on what we are currently running then what it is on the cloud servers.   I have put together a short list of some tasks and have listed them here.  But I was wondering if anyone could share some other tasks that might help with this or if you have comments about my list. I have 2 parts in the affected objects table. They are both being replaced (superseded)  by 2 different parts in the resulting objects table. Is there a way for someone looking at this change notice to know which resulting object is superseding which affected object?   We could write this in the comment section, but that is very time consuming.   Thank you!

Based on the eBOM of a wtPart we created a new view version in the mBOM. The mBOM is restructured and documents, process plans, tooling, etc. are added.               wtPart 123 (Design)   --->   wtPart 123 (Manufacturing)   Due to a engineering change affecting Form Fit Function a new wtPart (eBOM) is created.               wtPart 123 (Design)   --->   wtPart 345 (Design)   Because the differences in definition are only small we want to reuse the existing mBOM (wtPart 123) to create the mBOM for the new wtPart 345. We spent a lot of time to create the initial mBOM and would like to only apply the differences and not to completely rebuild the mBOM from the mBOM.               wtPart 123 (Manufacturing)  ---> wtPart 345 (Manufacturing)   Any one having an efficient way of working to achieve this?

Hello everyone,   My heavy hands on experience with Windchill has stopped with 10.2. I have seen demonstration of 11 at Liveworks events and youtube. It seems that in 11 everything is an app.  I am currently learning about Enovia 2017 and there everything is an app.  I do not know if it is me getting old but I find that those apps are not as efficient than the way you could navigate in 10.2. Also what they call their Social collaboration, seems to be a very uncontrolled and messy areas for people to dump all sort of information and in the training I got, they do product development there....  I assume things will make a lot more sense once I have completed the whole training.   I recall PTC also introducing such feature (surely for the millemium generation) but I wonder then how they make the link to PDM so while I agree, a discussion area is necessary, this is only to start generating Idea not to start product development.   Can you please share with you

Hello,I am relatively new to Windchill, so this might be very basic to you, but I have finished the Customize Windchill tutorial and still struggling with this. We would like to deploy external Java libraries to the Windchill server and use them in custom Workflows, in the transition part (where we can write custom Java code).   I have tried compiling a simple HelloWorld class to .jar, drop it under /codebase/WEB-INF/lib/ and it is recognized by the server, since it passes the "Check syntax" test. However when the workflow runs, it fails to execute the code.   So my questions are: How do we deploy our libraries to the Windchill server, i.e., to which folder do we copy them and in which format? (.jar, .java, .class?). Do they need to be compiled on Windchill shell or can I compile them with javac in my machine and just copy the generated file to the server? Is there any way to see the detailed logs from the workflows? (i.e. when the Java code fails during execution, read the

I want to remove partipants that users and groups  of  roles of the problem report. Please teach me which API  I use and simple code.  

I'm working on testing a relatively straight forward set of workflows and life cycle states to get us to start using Windchill functionality we've not been taking advantage of for the last 17 years. What this looks like is that I'm planning to have users navigate thru different life cycle states with promotion requests, change requests, etc. Each of these create objects (a Promotion Notice, a Change Request, a Change Notice, etc.). How are different people managing these? That's a lot of files to start adding to Windchill. Do you put them in the same folders as the CAD documents they reference? Do you put them in a single folder? How do you manage the size?
