We started using Windchill, Since 2012 from there Data's in Windchill are scattered and no proper life cycle states where followed.So we decided to cleanup the unused objects from Windchill. We purged to cleanup the data created from 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016 with below criteria's in manage queries.CriteriaObject Type : EPM DocumentVersion at Maturity : Design ReleasedVersion at Maturity : Preliminary ReleasedIteration (All but last) : 2Created : 01-01-2012 to 31-12-2012Modified : 01-01-2012 to 31-12-2012Created Purge Job for the above query criteria and previewed the same before submitting the purge job.For Example: The preview shows with result 2300 objects eligible for purge which includes family table (Instance and Generic) as well. But we were able to purge 20% from the eligible object rest all are family table objects.Indent:> Data growth per year 2TB> Reduce the data growth by purging the unused data's > Reduce the drive sizeIs there any way to purge the family
Customers create lots of document during CAPA process. They like to add those documents along with the task they receive during CAPA workflow.Also folder view for those documents added for a specific CAPA.
I have recently run into a situation where an later version on an CAD document (Pro/e assembly) was inadvertently overwritten by an older version of that same document. After much investigation I was able to determine that the default workspace update functionality doesn't actually replace the local file contents during an update, it only updates the metadata to make it look like you have the latest version. For those who would like a detailed explanation of the tests I performed, and the behavior experienced, I have listed it all in detail below. For those want to get right to the question, here it is. Is there a workaround that gives permission to a user to change the filename of a CAD Document, without also allowing change of number?The permission group MODIFY IDENTITY seems to tie these two things together.

Hi all,For Soft type attribute i have added a User Picker. it Works fine, it opens the Picker pop up, enlist all user . when i select any one from the list and it will correctly displayed on creation Wizard.but when i finished the WTPart and go to detail page of it, where ideally i am expecting username to display. but i found DN is displaying there.Please see below screen print and code used for user picker, and here is the code Please let me know where i should change ?Regards,Vivek
Anyone know why this is.I have set Org and Site preference for Affected End Items Display to No.If a users creates a CR in a Folder or from an item in a folder then the CR does not contain section 2 "Affected End Items Display". If a users creates a CR from a Search result (Actions) then the CR does have Affected End Items Display.As a side note, the folder actions does not include items they can not compete (we do not allow users to create a CN or Problem Reports) but on the Search actions the action is listed to create a Change Notice or a Problem Report.Thanks.

Hello EveryoneI want to create a product number based on attribute selection.On selecting the attributes the product number has to be created automatically choosing the number given for the particular attribute.For example:Customer No. Product Family Running No. XXX YY ZZZIf the product attribute selection be like 032(Customer no.)12(Product family) 322(running no.)The auto generated number should be like 03212322I'm able to create the numbering schema for customer name using case branch in OIR. But I have no clue in combining both the customer no. as well as product family (XXXYYZZZ)Can anyone help in this?Any help is greatly appreciated.

We have Revision Series loaded in system with some legacy=true value, so that those revisions can be imported for legacy data, i.e. I,O,Q,S,X,Z. At the same time we have added Revision attribute and enabled RevisionPicker in New Part Creation Form, so that user can enter required revision manually . Also in preference settings we have set this preference Allow Override On Revise = yes so that user can give required revision while revise, e.g. bumping up revision skipping next available be default. Due to these settings, system is allowing to create new parts with Revision which are defined as legacy=true. But we dont want system to allow to create parts with these values. Any suggestions how can we restrict legacy revisions for new parts.
With Windchill 11.0 one can use Query Builder queries to further refine search results. For example refine the search to look at results based upon related objects. This zip file contains two queries from 11.0 M020 Search with Parts - additional query to find parts that are on a Change Notice at a given state Reference Designator - Find parts on a BOM with a given reference designator. For example - find a part (eg Name Capacitor*) that has a reference designator C16

Hello all,I'm having a workflow issue and hope someone can help. We have a process whose workflow requires approvals. Each approvers is given 2 options (votes), Complete or Rework. If all approvers vote "Complete", the workflow moves along to the next activity (coordinator approve and release), as expected. However, if any one approvers votes "Rework", the process assigns a Rework task (expected) but also moves forward to the next activity. This causes an issue for the person assigned the Rework task as they can't update or edit the object because it is undergoing a review process. (See attachment for error message) This also means you can't change the state even from an admin account either for the same reason. Any ideas as to what is happening?Thanks in advance for any suggestions and / or ideas.David

Deviation/Number is editable in rename action even after denying modify identify permission.Even if we apply Immutable constraint from OIR or Type & Attribute Manager it is applicable only on creation. We can restrict editing this on Edit action by making it read only for edit or by removing it from edit layout however we cannot control this behavior for Rename Action. Profiles neither allow hiding rename action.Also, Rename interface is based on the framework CADX HTML template for which Customization is not supported.Please make number non-editable in rename action.
