As per the original post.    We are also running Solidworks & WGM and constantly get these files that WGM "thinks" are to be modified, but are not.  UPDATE does not reload (wish it did).  Only fix is to search and reload each file back into workspaces overwriting the file that thinks its being modified, that it thinks its in error (very time consuming) or just ignore them.  I have directed Co-workers to ignore these.  Some users do not know to ignore or reload and so they end up checking these out thinking a change is eminent.  What a mess.   What triggers this, and how can we avoid it?  Lock/unlock does not stop this from happening.  SW ignores these labels.  If we could mark them as read-only, and WGM understand under no circumstances does these get changed... that may do it, but I dont see that function existing.     Any tips or tricks for this, please post.   The explaination above is the first I ha

I am following PTC's documentation, and have pretty much copied the exact BOM_RELEASE_RULE. The difference is only that we have not specified <objectContainerPath>. The rule loads correctly into our Promotion Notice rule set. We have other rules within the rule set (attribute rules) that all work correctly. However, the BOM release rule does not seem to trigger a conflict when a BOM component is obsolete. Can there be circular dependencies among rules in Windchill or Creo.Example: If rule R0: if A>5 THEN B=4 and rule R1: if B<5 THEN A=4 is an example of circular dependency. It implies that it can be hard to evaluate the order in which rules should be executed and, also, that we may have oscillating values and rule execution that never ends. The rules in Windchill are not SQL Procedures, but stored in SQL tables and exportable to various formats, for example, XML. Hello,I would like to know if anybody tried to use Windchill with docker containers?I saw last year PTC event in Boston that R&D is thinking about it, but did not get any feedback yet.Today we are using a lot of VM for developers and tests systems.Painful part with VM is that if I want to be sure that all VM are up2date with OS patches, Oracle patches, Windchill content ... I need to ask all people to checkout the new VM every month.The idea will be to create docker containers, probably 8, like that :This will allow me to distribute OS update, Oracle update, new windchill content through Oracle datafiles update easily.People will just have to update their dependencies and the update will be invisible for them.Any idea, comment is welcomed.Thanks,Morgan
