Windchill Navigate

Hi,   I am looking for advice/direction on best practices when it comes to creating API Mappings and Services for custom mashups.  For example, is it best to create these on the ptc-windchill-OData- connector or somewhere else.  If created on ptc-windchill-OData-connector, what are the best practices in regards to import/export especially when moving from one version to another (e.g., 8.5.3 to 9.0)?   Any advice/guidance would be appreciated.   Thanks,   Roy

Hello,   I have installed Thingworx 9.0 instance and running an application. I have installed it manually without using installer. Based on requirements, I have to install Thingworx Navigate 9.0. when I'm trying to install navigate it's again asking me to install Thingworx foundation using installer. Is there a way to install Navigate without removing existing instance. The server is having only one drive so i can't use two instances also.   Any suggestions on this?>   -thanks, Abhiram

Hello, i have  drop down list which has validation on it to be visible or not , when drop down has been hidden ,i want to make place of it  not to be  empty and filled with another widget like label, and when it is visible , label shifts to bottom of drop down it is available in Thingworx ? how can  i achieve this?

Hi admins Something is wrong in TWX. Here is the bottom left of the Composer: "Waiting for available socket"   I wanted to post a screenshot, but it seems I am no longer able to.   This looked like a bug, but no: actually this is a user error. I have another tab showing the TWX Runtime, and it currently has the login dialog up waiting for my password. When I login correctly in that tab, then my Composer works fine.   So this is not a bug, but it is a usability issue. Rick

We are seeing issues with upgrade of an 8.5 Thingworx Navigate app to Thingworx NAvigate 9.  Lack of support to Microsoft Edge Legacy and IE is little frustrating. Lot of shop floor users are still using old browsers.  Is there any workaround to show the app for legacy browser? Hi, I have 10 licenses ptc_navigate_author_named. But the problem is that I can't use any license     If I see the User Groups, I have not a group "navigate_author_named_group. This group should be created automatically from LicensingSubSystem, is it right ?.     Can someone help me, please? All,   Using Navigate, can I search a particular word or phrase inside a PDF stored in Windchill PLM.   Can I utilize the advance search capabilities of Windchill within Navigate, e.g. listing the search results from Windchill in the Navigate window?    TIA

After successful installation of Navigate we need to configure it with Windchill with Fixed,SSO or windchill authentication. My question is why exactly do we need to do this? Because as I understand while making custom apps we can use integration connectors where we can define the windchill link to retrieve data. Is it to make the pre installed apps work and if so how will the apps retrieve data if the Navigate was configured with multiple windchill?

Hi, For a current customer I am trying to implement a service that will record the Fault messages of the machine. I've set up an infotable property on the asset that would house the recorded faults. I've also set up a data table holding the fault code reference document that has a numerical code and string for each fault.   What I need to do, is when an Alert on the faulted PLC tag is triggered, to get the numerical code from a seperate PLC tag, reference that code in the data table, get the string equivalent, then add a row with all that information to my asset fault history infotable property.   I cannot get my javascript code to work, I'll paste below what I have currently, I am wondering now if it is easier to use data tables for both tables listed above or if this set up should work?   To clarify, I am using a configured Alert on the Faulted property (boolean) to trigger a subscription with the following code:   var PLCFaultCode = me.Current_Fault_Code; var que

We are trying to read multi-valued attributes in Windchill through the odata API. However, Windchill only seems to return one of the values and does not compile it into a list. Any ideas if this can be resolved? Many thanks
