Can someone tell me if it is legal to use Creo 7.0 Student edition for freelancing stuff on Upwork for exemple? I know that it is not so fair for PTC guys and that's the reason why I asked that.If it is not legal, can you recomand me a version (a license) which is worth for freelancing?Thanks a lot!

Whenever I select assemble CREO always defaults to desktop  but I want to always default to in Session  , is there a config option that can be changed to default to parts in session instead of desktop. If NO I would like to default to working directory.

Hi,I have a problem to bring the ECAD/MACAD collaboration to work. The compare/validate Tool in ECAD/MACD Collaboration runs always in an error (see picture) I found the following support articel (CS125726)and reinstalled, as adviced there,  Creo View.  But no success - compare Toll still shows the error massage. Creo Version 9.08tried Creo View 10 and 11 Anyone a hint, what to do?  

Is there an API that can listen for user actions when creating or deleting annotations through the toolkit?For feature creation, I know I can use pfcDefaultSolidActionListener->OnAfterFeatureCreate.However, I’d like to know if there’s an API specifically for annotations. I want to monitor when a user creates annotations from Creo70> Annotate > Dimension. Thank you!

hej i need some help with some Relations with parameters in an Assembly and parts from an interchange Assembly:Situation is as follows:I do have a Top Level Assembly, in this Top Level Assembly i have a Componet with Feat ID 123This Component is in an Interchange Assembly defined with reference tags. each Componet from the Interchange Assembly has 3 parameters named A,B,Chow can i acces those Parameters cause i would like to use them in a relation.i tried to call them with :FID  or: CIDit works until i replace the part in the Top Assembly using the replace by interchange command.when i do this the Feat ID will be changed from Feat ID 123 to Feat ID 124, with that my relation is not working any longer. because in my relation i use :CID i tried before using :FID but my parameters have different FID: Numbers so that doesn't work either. hope someone can help me with this 🙂RegardsMarkus 

Hi, I am new to creo so this question might be dumb, but i can't figure it out how to cut a pipe when it intersects other pipe(i attached a photo).  As you can see in the picture i have a horizontal pipe that i want to cut at the face of the vertical pipe. I tried to use component operations (I have CREO 3) but when i am using this command it cuts just the intersection(see pic 2).Could you help me to do this cut?Thanks!       

Creo8. I need to convert an outside file to an editable part. I am able to import it as a STEP, STL, or OBJ which doesn't appear to make any difference to Creo.   The part in question comes in with tesselated surfaces, I think because the original file was made in Blender, and Blender outputs it's models with them. I then Shrinkwrap the imported part to a new file with the ignore quilts toggled off and "10" selected as level of "precision". The result is a usable editable part, but because Shrinkwrap does its own tessellation, not as tight a part as I would like - tessellated fillets not in the original file etc. Is it possible to shrinkwrap or otherwise convert an imported tessellated object to an editable part using the tessallations which are already in the part without adding any others?  If this isn't possible, is there a precision setting higher than 10? If what I'm asking is not possible, my solution will be to edit the imported file in On

Creo 8 I am showing Datum Feature Symbols to my drawing that i created in the model and they are coming in skewed when the referenced feature is not vertical or horizontal in the view and i can not do anything to fix them(see screenshot). the other Datum Feature Symbols come in just fine everywhere else.

Hi, in CREO ADVANCED PLUS 9 I have to mirror THE 4c28fw08500.asm wrt the green SYM_TRASV plane.If I check the "Reuse selected model" I obtain the wrong position in the picture below:  Instead, I want to obtain the correct position that I have when I check the "Create a nex model", but I don't want to create a new code model. How can I fix this problem? Thank you.

Dear all,  i would know how to edit a sketch quote relation from the program file of a part.  I am creating relations on the fly, so to speak, and I cannot access them at a later time in order to modify them. I began by making the parameter, NTHICK, equal 1.5. For many extrusions I have entered NTHICK as the dimension value and Creo/Pro will ask me if I would like to establish a relation for the dimension. I click yes and a relation is created. I can verify this by double clicking the dimension and then I'm told that it cannot be modify becuase it is controled by the relation d256 = NTHICK; this is good, its what I want. The problem is that I cannot access the relation to change it. Going to Tools>Realtions doesn't work--the realtion is not there. I'm here seeking some clarification on the main differences between using standalone vs subordinate when creating a user-defined feature (UDF). I am currently using Creo 7.0.2.0, and I think I've started to grasp the concept of it by performing some tests. From what I've gathered, standalone and subordinate are the same in the fact that both options allow you to modify the UDF by adding/removing/changing the variable dimensions and family table dimensions as well as changing the reference prompts using the UDF Menu Manager. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the key difference between the two is the ability to edit the actual feature the UDF is referencing. So, when creating a subordinate UDF, since it is directly related to the parent part, if you go back and change the features of the parent part, then the changes will be included in the UDF as well. I'm working in CREO 10, but I'm very new to it after many years of Inventor and SolidWorks. I have a cable assembly that I made without using the cable tools. I have a PCB, roughly 10" length of ribbon cable doing a 180 turn (modelled as a U-shaped part), and a 2nd PCB. I have 2 locations where I use this harness, and the placement of PCB 1 relative to PCB 2 is about 1/2" different between the 2 location. I'm trying to make 2 versions of the same assembly (since we'll use the same PN for both locations), where the length of legs of the 'U' shaped cable change. On one instance, both legs should be the same length. On the other instance, the legs should be 1/2" different, but still 10" total path length. Based on googling, it looks like my options might be a Family Table at the Part and Assembly level to select the leg length. But maybe it makes more sense to do a Spine Bend (if I can figure it out) on a straight base part? Or some other approach?

Good afternoon,Currently just joined a company that used Creo 7.0, so I am very new to it.  For the past 13 years, I have been using Siemens NX 2206 in association with TeamCenter PLM.  What would be the best Creo 7.0 self paced training to utilize in order to learn basic sketching, modeling, assemblies and drawings, preferably in that order?I can start a sketch, however I am having issues figuring out how to finish the sketch and add 3D features in order to create an actual part.Hope this makes sense 😂Thanks in advance.,Chris S

Hello,  We are on Creo 9.0.3.0. I can make a 2D Family Table no problem, but then I am stuck with the names of the parameter that include the underscore since a lot of names are muli-word, and cannot be named with any spaces.  I had THOUGHT that's what the Description field would be for...so you can just show that as the name instead of the actual name, BUT I cannot figure out how to use the Descriptions AT ALL.  fam.inst.param.description doesn't work, and I also cannot figure out how to even reference the description in Relations if that route is necessary to fix this. Next, I have Objects (They are Word docs) that disappear after saving, leaving, and reopening the drawing.  They are in the tree, and selectable, and even editable, but are not visible on the drawing or after exporting to PDF.  I was having similar issue for Images and ended up being a setting in config.sys.  Is there a similar one for Objects? Thanks

By a clone part I mean a fully dependant copy of a part that can be used in separate assemblies but if the original part is modified, the clone part can be updated automatically, And if it is possible, can be assigned a different material to the clone?

Dear all,  I'm using CREO 10 i would know if could be possible to repeat a part along a sweep feature keeping a specific orientation compared to the assembly, for example i would: -repeat the grey part along the sweep cut keeping the same reciprocal alignment-merge all the bodies obtained in a single one-subtract the body obtained from the white onethe result should be similar to this onebut the way that i obtained it, is not easy to use and to manipulate and the subtract command always fail.Maybe there is another way that i haven't considered how to do this.  Thanks  previously for the help

when applying a distance constraint, the dimension was given in mm and is not translated to drawing properly, it was entered as 1mm on the assembly, more like 20mm is actual constraint. have i the wrong template, i may have started with the wrong template

Hello ! I am using Creo 7.0.7.0 I am looking for a way to add a drawing table with specific dimensions for which we request inspection. I have manually made this table :I am looking for a way to automatically fill this table : the idea would be to refer the dimensions that need to be inspected somewere and that it fills the table and extract the minimum tolerance and maximum tolerance. Also it would be great if this table would update as the dimension or tolerances are updated.  Is there a way to do that with Creo maybe with a drawing table, parameters and a repeat region ? 

Hi I would like to understand if it is possible to program a .ttd file for Creo Distributed Batch, to import and convert pkg files I am using creo parametric 8 If it is not possible I ask to program a Mapkeys in Creo Distributed Batch, for that activity. If I use creo with normal operations I can convert the file but I need to program the conversion activity without engaging the program as for the steps. I am trying to reprogram a ttd file from another but it fails I am missing some information. I was looking for a guide. THIS IS THE TEST I DID ..
