Hi all,   I'm running Creo 2.0 Student Edition. Under Collision Detection Settings>Optional Settings, I only have the option for "Sound Warning on Collision". I'm looking for the option to "Stop when colliding". Is this a limitation on the student edition?   Thanks in advance

Hello everyone, I have problem in Creo Ansys Simulation, every time I run the simulation with default setting always show message "Solve I Failed I 99% completed." even if running with simple part, and then stop not showing the result. Is there a way to make a connection attivabile by relation?In the sens of a connection (gear or motor for example) that runs under certain situations and it doesn't in some others.Eg: if this distance is lower than X, then you don't work.   Thanks

Hi,   I am a beginner in creo.  In previous cad software which i used (inventor and solidworks), I can easily isolate the components in assy environment, but in creo I cant find a proper way to do it. I search around the web, which I find a poor way which is: select the components you want to isolate --> representation--> master. But this method cant longer be used once you are in another simp representation mode. So please advice the fastest way or at least the efficient way to perform the 'isolate' function since me and my colleague use "isolate" function quite frequent when need to modify part feature in assembly environment.

Hi, I have to do a static elastoplastic Simulation with Simulate on the attached model. It is an axial compensator. Material: Not linear but elastoplastic behavior The compensator is composed by two parts of 0.5 mm thickness in contact. So in addition to the behavior of the elastoplastic material, I have to evaluate the contact between the two parts. The model is fixed on one side and on the other side is applied a compression/traction, lateral and torsional displacement. There is also internal pressure. First of all, I have to do a static elastoplastic Simulation, than I have to evaluate fatigue analysis, heat exchanger from the inside fluid, modal and frequency analysis. Now the focus is on the static elastoplastic Simulation and I have a problem in order to have result in reasonable time. How would you create the mesh? How would you set up the simulation with the issue of time in mind? Do you suggest to use Ansys Simulation? Thanks

After I run a flow analysis on a part, (Creo 9.0) I am unable to open the part again. When I try to open the original part, I get a blank screen of the planes of the part, not the part as originally constructed. Please see below.Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.

As per the original post.    Good Morning Ty,   I'd like to use CREO to calculate the Area MOI of some non-uniform geometry. Prior to doing that I wanted to test the tool on a known Area MOI before applying it to the non-uniform geometry.   What I did was took an I-beam, calculated the Area MOI and then pulled the same beam into CREO and tried to use the analysis tool to confirm that it shows me the Area Moment of Inertia in the Inertia Tensor.  But the units for the Inertia tensor are for that of just plain MOI (lb/in^2) and not the Area Moment of Inertia (in^4) - how would I measure this using Creo for a cross section?   Thanks, MW

Hello - I am trying to apply a torsional load  onto a shaft in Creo Simulation Live.  I have tried several methods to apply a torque to the shaft.  For simplicity, I made a 1" diameter shaft that is 2" long.  I have one face fixed.  I tried applying a 37 in-lb moment load to the the opposite face in the z direction which is the axis of the shaft.  The XY shear stress that it returned with this method was extremely high.  Calculating by hand the shear stress should be 188 psi in the shaft.  I have the accuracy set to the maximum. I then tried applying a force of 74 lbf to a point on the bottom of the face of the shaft in the X direction in order to simulate an equivalent torque of 37 in-lbf.  Please see screenshot.  This resulted in a XY stress of 142 psi.  This result was much closer to the hand calculation of 188 psi, but is still off by 25%. What is the best method to apply a torque to a shaft in CSL?

Hello, I am designing a mechanism in which I want my Lead screw to rotate on its axis only.  fixed to one housing so that the lead screw does not transverse, I want the nut to translate but avoid rotation  I already tried the cylinder connection but it is not working for my problem  And if anybody suggests providing a generic gear connection please also describe the reason behind it I am not able to understand the reason behind providing a gear connection  I am using Creo Parametric

Hi, I need to do a simulation with Creo Simulate 10.0.3 as indicated in the subject.I used shell finite elements ans it is not a problem to set constraints and the internal idrostatic pressure, the problem is another The tank is covered by sand, 30 cm per side as indicated in the attached files. The sand causes a force on the tank, and limits the lateral expansion. How can I interpret the sand? With a Force/Pressure on the tank and a laterally Pressure/Constraint/Springs to limit the lateral expansion? In order to represent the sand I also thought to create an external component/body but I think it is too complicated. I'll need sand structural property and I'll have to decide if use bounded interface or contact interface between tank and sand.Any  suggestion? Thanks

AllI've taken some of the introductions to CREO Simulation applications including Ansys and their own internal application. I've been trying to apply this in my designs, and have had good success in optimizing parts designed individually.I'm working on incorporating analysis into assemblies to get a better idea of how forces from one part transfer to an adjoining component.    For the above simulation, the assembly constraint for the lever arm was a "Pin" with rotational limits that went past the point of contact.Additionally, 3D Contacts were added for the lever-CAM-radius and the flat surface they would be contacting.Note however all the force from the lever is being transmitted into the block at the first junction (Red Circles), and not at the lever-CAM contact points (Orange Circles.) Is this a problem with:- Assembly constraints?- Mechanism setup?- My expectations for Live Simulation? Appreciate any insight!Dave

Hi all, I have been trying hard for the last few days to calculate thrust on a propeller, but failed miserably in every attempt. Since there are no detailed videos showing this (or i couldn't find them), can anyone show or tell me here how to do it.I have tried using rotating wall and non-inertial frame. 

The actual physical test is 7 mm and the Simulation Live analysis is 0.3 mm  

Hello I'm new to CREO. My company uses CREO 7.0 even though I believe latest is 9.0.. I want to download and install MathCAD Express to be used inside CREO. Will the latest version of MathCAD Express (I believe 9.0) work inside CREO 7.0? BTW I added this to Simulation since there was no specific MathCAD section. Thanks

Hello PTC community,I am using Creo Simulate (version 7) to perform the following FEA study. I need to idealize four Guy wires within the genset exhaust and silencer assembly that will help stabilize the chimney when high wind loads might be experienced. The four Guy wires are meant to be attached to the frame which is supposed to be mounted onto the flange of the top most part of the chimney as shown in the pictures attached.I have tried single and multiple beam elements till now but both of them behave unnaturally. I have used a rigid connection at the top for connecting frame and the beam elements and have used fixed translation free rotation for all at the bottom point (ground) of the beam. Please see attached some of the pictures that will help communicate better.For the single beam element, when wind loading is experienced, two ropes must be in tension like state while the opposite two must behave different to these. Hello   I'm using the generative design application within creo 9 (9.0.3.0). When I've done my optimization and want to look at the stresses in the final design I can't see anything, It's only one homogenous colour. This also applies to the initial simulation results.    I have tried removing all of my config options but that did not help.        Has anybody encountered something similar? Hi, I'm seeing some very strange solutions in generative design. See the image below. Fixation points at the bottom and the top is connected to a now hidden body. I have a body that divides the part as  excluded body. What I get is material being generated "pressed" up against this cutting body, rather than having material straight between the fixation holes. Any idea what could cause this?    

I have a set of leaf springs that are tied together at both ends via rivets. When the springs are in their free states, they don't lie on top of each other. Thus, the assy only contacts the mating points when under strain. I presume I need to mate one end and then use a bonded interface that will pull together the needed surfaces during the simulation. I understand that this is only possible using FEM mode. I am on Creo 4, M150 I don't have a standalone solver. What are my options?
