Hi guys, I wanted to simulate a part we have build, its a flexure hinge (see pic 1 and 2). How it works: As one spread the two ligaments by the screw on the input-side, one will tilt the outputside as indicated by the orange lines. The input is in mm and the output in degree, respectively. as You can see in pic 3 the real-world model matches the mathematical (geometric) model very well, but if I try to simulate it by applying a force to spread the ligaments the values for the slope on outputside are far away from reality. Even more, when I plot output vs input of real-world data I get a parabolic curve, as expected, but when I plot the data from simulation I get a straight line!!! Why? Have someone a clue, whats going on here?   -I use Creo 9.0, -For the simulation I applied several forces (100, 1000,2000...5000)N and measured the displacement (in Y direction) of the upper and lower ligament to have an equivalent for the input of the real-world-part which is in mm -and the displac

The "Export to ANSYS Mechanical Format" command is not working. I am able to "Save Simulation Data" as a .apr file in the below folder. However, when i try to export the .casdat file using the Export to Ansys Mechanical Format command, the status bar says that it saves successfully, but no .casdat file appears in that folder.

I am using PTC Creo 7.0 and want to analyse the behaviour of pressure in a braking system. I was thinking to use a simplified model consisting of a length of brake line (4.8mm bore) connected to a piston inside a cylinder. (35mm diameter with 0.5mm stroke)I would then introduce restrictions in the brake line and analyse the effect on pressure build up behind the piston. Does anyone have experience with a model similar to this? As a starting point, I have created a transient flow analysis of a simple brake line with a restriction, but without the piston element: the brake line is set with 8000000Pa inlet pressure and 0Pa outlet pressure but this is not yielding the expected results (i.e. a ramp up in pressure from zero, finishing with the outlet pressure equaling the  inlet pressure). This is the result I obtain currently:Looks o.k. so far, however if I simulate a number of different restriction diameters, I get this: I would expect final outlet pressure to

Hi All, Is there a way to measure the coordinates between one asm to another in creo view?

HelloI am trying to model a simple CFD with heat transfer.The model contains a solid body with internal flow channel and two holes for inlet and outlet.The flow channel was created in solid part by revolving a sketch and removing material, then I added holes on surface to interface with that channel.When I create fluid domain, I select the surface containing the inlet and outlet holes. The created fluid body looks fine. However, when I try to define boundary conditions for inlet and outlet, I am unable to select each surface individually. Both inlet and outlet get highlighted together as I try to select either one to define flow.  Has anyone encountered similar problem? thanks for your advise in advance.Also another question is what is 'caps' option and what is seed surface when creating fluid domain, Do I need to define a seed surface?thanks

I'm looking for an example of how to setup a flow analysis of a server rack.  The server rack has external air flow inside the rack then directed to specific servers which includes fans and the directed to an external exhaust air outlet.  I have not been able to find an example of a flow analysis model resembling this.  Is there anyone that has an example they could share or point me too. Thanks

Hi all hopefully a simple question, but i cant seem to find the answer.i have a simple contact static analysis setup to analyse the contact forces and stress in my designed snap fits on a plastic part retaining a pcb.it is my understanding that i should use the include snap through option in this analysis because running it without it and 10 equally spaced time steps throws a warning about excessive sliding at timestep 7, and causes it to run indefinitely seemingly*** Warning: Excessive displacement detected at contact regions.   Recovery will be attempted by reducing time step size.   Better convergence of the nonlinear solution may be achieved if   you redefine your analysis with smaller time steps .** Warning:           Complete sliding was detected at one or more contacts           in your model. I am using Creo 11.I have noticed that most tutorials define an inlet and an outlet, with the inlet specifying parameters such as pressure, volumetric flux, or pressure inlet, and particles being released that move through the part, which is logical. InletAt the outlet, it is often defined as a specified pressure outlet, and no particles are released there. My question is: how do I determine when to release particles or not? Additionally, sometimes the outlet pressure is set to 0 Pa, while other times it is set to the normal atmospheric pressure of 101325 Pa. How do I know which pressure to use?  OutledBest regards,Spy

Hi everyone,I am facing an exciting challenge and am hoping to find some expert opinions here. I have a comprehensive family table with over a thousand different parts and want to identify the optimal part from this collection. My idea is to conduct a CFD analysis to determine the best results. My question is: Is it possible to perform a CFD analysis for such a family table? Can the entire analysis be precomputed so that, in the end, I only need to go through the results? I understand that the interpretation of the results ultimately lies with the viewer, but it would be great if the analysis process could be automated to identify the best parts more quickly and efficiently.  I am using Creo 10 for this task. Has anyone here conducted a similar analysis or can offer tips on how to approach this? Thank you in advance for your help!Best regards 🙂

I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.3.0I was trying to measure the torque changes in spur gear for study purpose but was unable to calculate it using MDO.Is there anything that I am missing,I have applied Material as steel, all connections have applied with gears, a force motor to drive the pinion and another force motor with 0.000 coefficeint on the gear to measure the net load on it. the net load is coming out as 0. If any one have done this before then please let me know.

Hi Guys, Im running a simulation that is running based off of the subassembly sets of heat load and convection boundaries. For example:Assembly 1 has 1 heat load, with 7 conv boundary conditionsAssembly 2 has 1 heat load with 4 conv boundary conditionsAssembly 3 has 1 heat load with 3 conv boundary conditionsthese Heat loads and convection boundaries were added to the sub assemblies, the new assembly of these 3 has not had any additional heat loads added. how do i run a thermal analysis with all 3 heat loads working together.  It seems like the only issues are the 3 heat loads. The convection boundaries seem to run fine. It wants me to choose a single load set for the new assembly. It will not allow me to use all 3 load sets at once.  

Hi,   We need to find the stress when the part is twisted at an angle. It's shown in the capture-1 below that a motor powers the pocket at one end, while the other end has a stopper. load (capture 2) & constrains (capture 3), kindly advise me on how to calculate the stress values at various angles?  Plastic is the material that is used & currently I am using Creo 7   Thanks
