I don't promote violence but I thought this was a good rendering and animation example made with Pro/ENGINEER.Anybody have other animation examples they'd like to share??Message was edited by: BostonDan
Today, I would like to share some information with you on a little "fun project" we have running for Pro/ENGINEER this summer...We all work hard to develop, maintain, market, sell, support and teach Pro/ENGINEER... But that’s not all we do in the name of this fantastic product! This summer, PTC staff and resellers are running in street races all over the world. The first race was just completed this Saturday (June 19) in Belgium - here are some pictures: The team of Savaco, a PTC Reseller in Belgium, participated in the Brugge City Triathlon on June 19 - http://www.triatlonbrugge.be/citytriatlon/index.asp. The same team is already registered for the Izegemse Triathlon on August 15 - http://www.izegemsetriatlon.be/nl/trios.htm. Meet our dedicated [Pro] ENGINEERs and, if you have the chance, come and see us in any of the upcoming races:***Germany: July 22, Heilbronnhttp://www.stimme-firmenlauf.de/***USA: July 22, Weston High School... Has anyone done any performance tests with Pro/E under Windows 7? We currently use Windows XP and are starting Windows 7 tests. Today, I ran the OCUS benchmark, and the Windows 7 results are not encouraging. On identical PC's, the test ran in 3309 seconds under Windows 7 x64, and 2677 seconds under Windows XP x64.Based upon those assumptions, our engineers will be unproductive (waiting) for an extra 42 hours/year under Windows 7. That is expensive non-value time.We might compensate for the lost time with faster PC's, but that has a cost as well.Has anyone dealt with this issue yet? Gerry
Is it possible to extrude with draft on a sketch in ProE? If so can you do multiple draft angle in the same extrude?

Hi all,Thanks for all the replies. Seems like I may have been the only person who didn't know this. Very new to WF5 (still testing). The most common response shown below, along with placing the annotations on a layer and hiding that layer.StefanUnselect the button highlighted below and the annotations will be hidden.[cid:image001.png@01CB429A.AFBD80E0]
Hi all,Any idea on how to get rid of all these hole callouts? Is it a layer issue, or is there some other way to control visibility?Using WF 5Thanks,Stefan[cid:image001.png@01CB4079.A3D7A3F0]
Does anybody know how to look up who has subscribed to a topic or folder from the user level? A sales manager posted some feedback about a product and wanted to make sure all his team members were subscribed to the product so that he knows they got the information. Thanks,James
Thanks Walt. This was the setting I was looking for.

They say the only dumb question is the one you don't ask, well; Question: Why in the "hole dialog" when you choose taped holes the only available choices are UNC, UNF & ISO in the "pull down menu" when (in the same load folder) are NPT, NPTF .hol files, why don' these show up in the menu?TIA. Greetings,Does anyone know how to place mass property values into a note? Specifically I'm looking to use Ixx, Iyy and Izz at COG with respect to coordinate system. Putting in &pro_mp_Ixx inserts the value with respect to the coordinate system. I need the value at COG with respect to coordinate system. Is there a suffix needed on the end of the inertia value designator like &pro_mp_Ixx:???Any help would be greatly appreciated.Bill WatkinsSandia National LabsAlbuquerque, NM505-845-9666

As the Northeast United States grapples with a heat wave, it made me wonder about the different ways people stay cool. Waterslides immediately came to mind.Have you designed any aspect of a waterslide within Pro/ENGINEER? In keeping with the summer fun, have you designed a ride for amusement parks, playgrounds or water fountains?Share your designs and experiences with the community!-BostonDan
I was watching an intro to WF5, I see that you can import SW files directly, but do you need a certain level/module of Pro to do this? We only currently have the base model and it does not appear to work as they indicated, unless I am doing something wrong.Would anyone who does this regularly please jump in and give feedback? Thanks,Brian
I am extracting the mass properties using ProSolidMassPropertyGet. I would also like to know the units of each item that is returned in the ProMassProperty structure. I understand how to get the principal unit system but that only identifies the base units (length, force, mass, time, temperature) and not derived units. Does anyone know how to retrieve the derived units? The derived units can be seen by clicking Edit->Setup->Units and clicking the Info button for one of the unit systems. How do I get these derived units? Do I have to derive them myself?Patrick WilliamsSr. Systems Engineer IIMechanical Engineering SolutionsMissile SystemsRaytheon Company+1 520.545.6995 (business)+1 520.545.6399 (fax)-TU/M12/86221 S Palo Verde RdTucson, AZ 85706 USAwww.raytheon.comThis message contains information that may be confidential and privileged. This may be a little difficult to explain but I have two arms that I want to connect with a ball joint. The movement will be up and down, and also swivel 360 degrees. In the first arm I have a spherical cutout where I want to attach the ball, it will be inside that cutout that the ball will move and swivel. How do I or can I constrain a ball inside that cutout to get that sort of movement? I know there is a ball constrain, but I'm not sure how to use it. attached is a picture of the cutout where the ball will be inserted. Thanks
In Arbortext Editor, without getting into the code too much, is it possible to rotate text inside table cells, e.g., for column heads?
