Hello, getting a Property Value from Thingworx to Vuforia Studio using JavaScript is working fine with: $scope.app.mdl['Thingname'].properties['Propertiename'] BUT: Is it possibility to get any more information from one property like e.g. the “Description” or “Unit”? Greetings Raphael
In vuforia studio,Is there anyway to check attributes or method associated with application parameter. example :- In "$scope.app.params" , after params what all possible attributes are available.
Hi there. I am currently developing an experience in Vuforia Studio and the AR experience will be shown on Vuforia View. Can I perform the translation or rotation by only using touch gestures but not using the slider? It is similar to the examples in the Vuforia View, Helicopter Assembly, as it allows the users to move or rotate or zoom the helicopter by fingers.
I would like to bind events when developing for the Hololens. E.g make a Gauge visible with a hand gesture or voice command in the Hololens. However I do not get any services available when trying to bind it.(ref attachment)
Hi, I know that in Vuforia Studio you can 'Require Authentication' for an experience. In this scenario you must have a user account in Thingworx, and enter the appropriate credentials, before being able to view the experience. My question relates to making multiple experiences private. How do you ensure that a Thingworx user has access to one experience but not to other. Question 1: If there are two distinct clients with two distinct AR experiences hosted on the same Experience Service, how do you make sure they can not view each others experiences? Cheers, Laura
Hi there,I connected and show the data from Thingworx successfully. However, the format of the data is not quite desirable. For example, the data grabbed by Thingworx is '2230' and the data type is Word, but I want to show it in this way: '22.30 Hz'.So, I am trying to write a script to perform the modification by using concat() and split() for manipulating the string. The problem is, whenever I tried to modify the external data from Thingworx, the Vuforia View crashed as shown in figure below. Even I just assign the external data to a variable, the same issue will occur. For example, var y = $scope.app.mdl['myThing'].properties['myProperty'];Is there any method that I can modify the data?
Hi, can anyone help me to understand what is wrong? I've prepared a scene in Creo Parametric 5.0.4, animated with Creo Illustrate 5.1, and when I preview it in Creo View - it looks perfect. But on any mobile device at the start all looks the same as in Creo View, but when models touch during animation they loose colors, it looks like this: The second issue is that on Hololens nothing displays right. when only Figure is loaded elements of the scene are showing in different positions all around the scene.. Now I changed some steps of the animation in Illustrate 6.0, but it didn't changed the situation - still in preview and View everything works perfect and on final devices as shown above. What did I do wrong?
Hi , I have created a Hololens app using thingmark with couple of models. I have written js to make model visible and non visible based on DoubleTap. With "Share experience" I am able to run the same application on Ipad and it working fine. but as the application are not connected any model I make invisible using hololens does not reflect on Ipad. Is there any way to connect Hololens and Ipad app ? any lead will help me alot . Thanks in advance.
Hello We want to test Vuforia Studio in our company but we are not able to "configure" it. --> see attached screenshot The credentials which I use at the window "Configure Vuforia Studio" are correct. Hi, I have recently locally installed the Vuforia Experience Service. At no point in the installation was a licensing file requested. I am now wondering how AR Experiences are licensed. Question 1: Is there only licensing for Vuforia Studio and not the Vuforia Experience Service? Question 2: How is the licensing for Vuforia Studio related to Thingworx (currently all admin users in the Vuforia Experience Service Thingworx are able to publish experiences) In general terms, we are unclear on if the licensing depends on the number of published experiences, the number of publishing users or at the installation level of the Vuforia Experience Service (or some combination!). Any explanation would be valued. All the best!
Hi, I notice that adding a footer to my 2D overlay has a default white background and im wondering if anyone has a tip for removing/changing it? Ive tried to use css to set it by giving the footer a class but this does not seem to work. Any tips are appreciated, thank you.
Hello, I am attempting to publish my project in Vuforia Studio, and when I attempt to validate the Experience Server, I am prompted to sign in. When I click the "Sign In" button, nothing happens. However, when I click the "Cancel" button, I get an error saying "Failed to authorize experience server." See images below. I would appreciate any help on this.
Hi, I am currently working on deploying my company's Vuforia Experience Service. Right now we are having difficulties validating the Vuforia Experience Service. We are currently using the following set of instructions for validation: https://www.ptc.com/support/-/media/6FCDB63E6C444D5CA0DEE998A52AC8FF.pdf?sc_lang=en#pdflink76aeb9f9 (page 104)However, this set of instructions assumes the experience service is connecting through a single port: 2019. According to another set of documentation: https://www.ptc.com/support/-/media/6FCDB63E6C444D5CA0DEE998A52AC8FF.pdf?sc_lang=en#pdflink-506fe4df (page 12) the experience service should have two open ports, 2019 as well as 443. While our experience service seems functional (according to the validation documentation) it only has port 2019 open. How can we troubleshoot the absence of a 443 port? In general could you explain the use and purpose of each of these ports (2019 and 443)? Why does the Experience Service need a separate port to bring in
Hello, This is a bit of a challenge. I think there may be a variety of creative solutions: I would like to show in AR the passages where oil-flows within a special pump. I have attached an image of this. In Creo Parametric I am able to turn down the transparency of all parts to about 80% and then color the surfaces where oil flows. You can see they are bright red with no transparency. So you can see through the transparent pump and understand the passages inside. However when I export this as a PVZ, the red surface coloring disappears. I would love to somehow select all the surfaces and turn them into a quilt or a solid geometry that I can then add back to the model. As it is now, they are just a void space within and between various parts of a complex assembly. Even better would be the ability to show dots, arrows, balls, or some representation of fluid flow through the passages. This sounds very labor intensive if I did this all manually. The end go
Hello, I saw some videos on youtube where the simualtion results where visible in augmented reality. Could someone please explain how to achieve this? For example which format must be exported from Ansys so that it can be imported into Vuforia Studio? Thank you !
Hi all, Do anyone know if it is possible to integrate google maps, or any map service, into Vuforia Studio? In the case, how would one proceed? Thanks, Paal.
Can someone please share a JS code for changing the source file of a Video widget Avinash
Hello, team! This question may sound stupid but is it possible for me to use (in Vuforia Studio) multiple model targets to recognize different angles from an unique model? I wasn't able to use the MTG (Model Target Generator) to do so! For example: I have an experience that assists the user to fix a pump. The experience will be started by recognizing the model from its right side, but the second step needs to be done in the front side of the pump; the third step from the left side, etc - therefore, I need the user to recognize each side before proceeding with the steps. Is it necessary for me to do separate experiences? Is there a way to make the model recognizable from multiple viewing angles within the same experience? Thanks!

How do I set the resource for a 3D model using JS? Is it possible to change 3D model runtime to create an animation effect?

Hi, In the same way as adding streamlines from Creo Flow Analysis(https://community.ptc.com/t5/Studio/How-to-add-streamlines-from-Creo-Flow-Analysis/m-p/563464 Where the streamlines are exported from Creo Flow Analysis), I wonder if it is possible to do the same with structural analysis. E.g FEM visualization in Vuforia studio. (Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ACqirpuxvk). I would like to visualize the structural analysis using AR.Cheers,Martin
Often issues connecting to the Thingworx Experience Service from Thingworx Studio are related to more complex proxy configurations. One such configuration uses a .pac script that dynamically resolves the proxy based on the requested URL. Thingworx Studio has the ability to configure a proxy server but you have to explicitly specify one server URL, you can't replicate the settings in your internet connections when these use a .pac script. No worries - there is a workaround - Proxy-Vole at your rescue! You can find Proxy Vole (https://proxy-vole.kenai.com/ ) on the Internet. It is a little java-based application that can be used to auto-resolve your proxy configuration. It has a command line and a UI frontend. The documentation is somewhat unstructured - for the test you only need a few of the steps: Download the Proxy Vole jar-with-dependencies Start the proxy vole application in a command shell using the following command:java -cp ./proxy-vole-1.0.1-jar-with-dependencies.jar
I'm working on an experience that shows users how to connect a device. Pop-up instruction steps describe connecting cables to the 3D model's rear. Clicking to go from step to step also plays animation of making the connections. When the user clicks the button to open the last step I want to rotate the 3D model to show the front panel LEDs. http://support.ptc.com/help/vuforia/studio/en/#page/Studio_Help_Center%2FBeginner_JSInvokeFunction.html Following the directions above gets a button click to invoke a JS function to rotate the 3D model. However this seems to break the functionality of the on-screen rotation slider I set up for users. Re-applying the slider's binding to the 3D model appears to break the JS function. Is only one thing allowed to rotate the 3D model on its Y axis? Also, I need to rotate the 3D model back to its original position when the user closes the instruction pop-up. Creating another JS function seems to stop the original desired rotation from working.
When I open and edit an Excel file with Vuforia View, the file is not saved to the same location. The temporarily downloaded file is saved locally.
