Hi all I am having problems with PTC Mathcad Prime versions. I use the latest version, i.e. 10, but colleagues etc. use varying versions, for example 9, 8 and 7.  However, they do not have the option to upgrade to the latest version. When I send them the file saved with the latest version, they can't open it. What is the solution? The best would be a solution where I can save the file so that it can be opened in any version, because I don't always know which version the other party is using.

I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.0.0Creo user is experiencing long delays opening up Creo files. Sometimes longer than 3-4 minutes. Mainly solid models. Sheetmetal models appear to be better.

Utilizing the same configuration files and settings: If I start Creo without the trail file being automatically run and run it manually it works perfectly.  Server Management - Without Trail File Ran Automatically  If I start Creo with the same trail file being run automatically the saved server is no longer shown. In our company, creating raw materials lists for projects (like product A) is a time-consuming manual process. Our estimator has to go through every single part in a CAD model from Creo to figure out how much sheet metal, bars, and pipes we'll need. This is especially tedious for our low-volume, high-mix production. Is there a better way?Ideally, we did like to extract raw material dimensions (highlighted in red in the table below) directly from the Creo 3D model parameters. This seems like a common need for manufacturers – how are you all handling material estimation with Creo and Windchill? Looking to automate this process and free up our estimator's time for more valuable tasks. So far I have tried to fix Height/Diameter/Thickness column through Material Library(mtl file). Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!    

I recently encountered a really strange programming error in MCD11. A calculation of the sum of three terms only includes the first two; the third term seems to be ignored. When the calculation is simply repeated, in what should be a second identical calculation , replacing the result with the (supposedly identical) new result, the repeat calc now gives the correct answer. The program is a simple transmission line simulator, which I was originally running with 1000 time points and 100 spatial points along the T-line. I was able to keep the error behavior using 6 time points and 4 spatial points. The attached program and pdf show the behavior. Referring to the pdf, on page 1 is the original program on the left (with the error) and the modified program (that works) on the right. The only difference is the repeat of the calculation line for vn(kt,Nline). This term is the sum of three other terms – as shown. Hello,  I am trying to utilize the new advanced controls textbox functionality by changing the background color of the textbox based on the input condition.  The input condition would be a defined variable called "Ratio" and whether or not it is above or below 1. The textbox would be assigned to the variable "Check", if Ratio is above 1 than check would read "No Good" with a red background, If Ratio is above 1 than check would read "OK" with a green background.  I have been searching through previous posts and had some help but am getting stuck with what appears to be passing in input variable "Ratio". I'm wotking on an FEA model and making geometry changes to address high stress area. Everything had been going smoothly, but I'm now getting a fatal error. The model meshes and all appears to be good, but it won't run. Below is the message in the *.err file. It seems to refer to a link and specific edges. It looks like a geometry problem, but I don't know how to find it. I don't know of a way to search for the link or edges by an ID number.   There are no diagnostic messages when I generate the mesh.   Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi All,What I am trying to acheive is to create a text string and symbol to be used as an item from the sketcher palette. The scenario is this. I want be able to create sketch palette item which has a cavity number id reference # and the part number.However when I create the sketch for this and want to add text, it does not give me the option to add the parameter it only gives a text option. If I add the parameter name in the text box and save this to the sketcher palette. When I call up this sketch from the sketcher palette in a part, I do not get the part number from the parameter in the model, I just get the text ( &part_number).The part number is a parameter in my start part and subsequent modelled parts. The only way I can get this to work is to insert this sketch from the palette and then edit the inserted sketch by selecting the parameter.Is there a way to add the parameter to the sketch in the palette section, without the need to do a secondary edit. Any
