I'm trying to access the model name and read it in a tree format from Creo ED. Tried a few Lisp APIs I saw in the document; didn't help much as none returned the model name. https://support.ptc.com/help/creo_elements_direct/r20.3.0.0/advanced_documentation/integration_kit/reference/function_index.html Is there any other way to access the data? C# also doesn't seem to have the related API on Part
I'd like to access, through code/programmatically a *.prt model's Annotations (e.g. Symbols, Datums, Notes, Dimensions). These would be the objects that are, in PTC Creo 10.x, in the model tree -> Design Items > Anotations. Is this possible through the base license of Creo (i.e. in Visual Basic)? The annotation objects seem like they might be accessible through details (drawings), but I cannot find their equivalents in the Model/PRT file. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Hi guys,In Modelling Express for the saving of the files, I have 5 options (like file attacched):- Bundle *.bdl- Package *.pkg- Session *.se2- Environment *.env- Picture *.bmp;*.png;*.tif;*.jpg;*.tiff;*.jpegI'm using *.bdl for saving 3D+2D but there is a method for to save only 3D file and only 2D fileThanks in advanced
Hello I am working on a custom quick acces toolbar in Creo Elements version 20.1.2.0I am making 1 tab that contains all the functions i need on a regular basis. And one that relocates my most used functions to the foreground. I wanted to create named seperators like the standard menu does. But I can only find the boring old line seperator. Is there any way to give my custom split menu a nice looking format like standard? Or is that something that is reserved for the base program? ▼What i've got so far▼ ▼What I want▼ If anyone knows how to do this. I would love to know it. Its not completely neccesary, but it would be a nice clean look to a layout that may be used as a standard within the company. Thanks in advance!
I'm using MathCAD 9.0.0.0. In my program I have the formula...I have every variable set in my program accept h2 that's in the equation twice. Is there a function to solve for h2? Otherwise, I guess I can rewrite the equation to solve for h2? Thanks,Brent
I attempted to use Mathcad Prime 11 to retrieve a Mathcad Prime 7.00 file I created but I could not. The file extensions appear to differ. How can I retrieve this file into Version 11 without having to recreate it? Thanks!
We recorded Andrew McGough (Mathcad Product Management Director)'s one-hour demo and Q&A session about PTC Mathcad Prime 12, set to release in April 2026. Andy discusses: A summary of Mathcad Prime’s newest features, including the recent Mathcad Prime 11.0.1.0 maintenance release The current Mathcad Prime roadmap Demos of some of Mathcad Prime 12's upcoming features I also posed over a dozen questions to him asked by Mathcad users, including some from PTC Community! I'm trying to understand what I can do to make cable harness take up less memory.See screenshots below. I have about 12 cables made of 16 wires in a relatively simple assembly and the file size for the cable assembly and harness total 430mB (215mB each). This is so large it takes minutes to save and regenerate. All of the cable locations referenced to datums in the assembly and not some higher level assembly. Each cable has maybe 2-3 plane or datum point-based locations based on assembly references. To me this should be taking up 10mB max. What could it possibly be doing with all this memory? We're on windows 11, creo 8.0.0.0.
Hi everyone,I'm working in Simulation (Analyses and Studies) within the Structural module in PTC Creo, and I’ve run into an issue: I can’t save result images in high-quality formats like PNG or TIFF.In this section, Creo only lets me save images in lower-quality formats, and I’d like to avoid using screenshots or the snipping tool because the resolution becomes quite poor.Does anyone know if there’s a way to export result images with the same quality as when PNG/TIFF saving is available?Maybe a setting, a workaround, or something I might be missing? I’m also attaching two images to show the issue:The first image is taken in Simulate (before entering Analyses and Studies) and the quality is great. The second image is taken inside Analyses and Studies, and the quality is noticeably lower, which is the problem I’m trying to solve.
I've got some issue using mechanism. I have this little subsystem that's supposed to go up and down to lift up the tray from the conveyor. When I work on this subassembly as we can this the movement is correct and 2 body are highlithed. The static body (in light blue on the first screen) is dirrectly link to the main origin of the subassembly. However when I import this in the main assembly making the subassembly origine fixed in the main assembly, in somehow the subassembly became one single rigid body. As we can see on the second screen there is only 1 body highlighted including the tray and the mooving part.Furthemore when we look at the mechanism tree, on the second screen there is actually a second body but it only includs origins.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.5.0Hello,I use ModelCheck for create parameters in creo prt.Is it possible to specify units?this is the line in MC for my parameter:PRT_PARAMETER DIAMETER REAL EQ 10And I need that the parameter created has mm as units.Because in windchill this parameters is a type: Real with unitsThanks
Another day and another CREO issue 🙂 So, I'm starting to get into detailing parts in CREO 10. Just to clarify - I have used NX and SolidWorks before and never ran into this issue. I wanted to dimension the part attached and use Bolt Circles for the two different holes. I tried using "Show Model Dims" and bring in the axis and dims. Well one feature was created using a circular pattern - and the other was two separate features (I did not create this model). I figured out how to display a circular centerline by changing drafting settings - but when I brought the dimension in it was a Radius. There was no way for me to change this to a Diameter. So, I decided to create my own sketches in the view and decided to just dimension to this directly. I'm sure people will say, "That's not how CREO works - you create in model and then bring in the model features/dims" Sure - but when it doesn't show what you actually want - I want to have other options/features to present the dimension
Hi,Something im not sure if its even possible, looking to have a set of predefined hole patterns to replicate SAE flange tapping details on manifolds.Currently we just use a chart based on ISO6162-1 & ISO6162-2Would be handy to have this a feature where the hole size, drilling depth, & tapping depth, as well as sketch pattern width & length are predefined.
Using Creo Elements Direct Modeling Express 9.0 New to Creo Direct Express and creating first drawings of parts and assemblies. Each time I edit the text on a drawing (title blocks, BOM's etc) a msg is displayed similar to the the one attached. What does this mean? Is there another way I should be editing these items?A second question is when creating the BOM's using the scan, table, draw method, why doesn't the part number populate? Thanks for any feedback
Hello everyone, I’m using Creo 8.0.9 and I need to create a sticker adapted to the surface, but for that I’m using a decal. When the sticker is flat, applying the decal is easy, but when it’s curved, it becomes very difficult. Is there a better method?Or is there any parameter in the planar mode that can be set to automatically adapt to all surfaces?
Hello, I want to create the origin function within a dropdown list (combo box) for an array index operation. Is this possible? I'm using Mathcad version 11
Good evening,I just wanted to download the student version of Creo 10, this also worked at the beginning. But now I have the trail version and not like my classmates the student version. Can I upgrade this in Creo or do I have to download creo again? If so, what do I have to do differently to not download the trail version. With kind regards
Hi @SweetPeasHub @skunks . Thanks for the explanation in this topic attached. For a guy wire in tension, I have defined a beam element using a series of points just as you have showed but the issue that I am facing is these tiny elements of the beams do not seem to be in contact for some reason and the prestress analysis for wires in tension fails. I had defined a rigid link between all these points that make up the beam. Is there any better / correct approach to constrain these tiny beam elements to stay connected? Please guide.
Hi everyone, I’m working with the team in charge to move to MBE, and I’ve run into a challenge I hope someone can help with.I’m trying to remove the general linear tolerances that appear on every part (see attachment 1). I experimented with setting the "tol_Display" option to "no", which does remove the general tolerances, but unfortunately, it also hides all the local tolerances on features of size (see attachment 2 and 3).Has anyone found a way to remove just the general linear tolerances while keeping the local ones visible?I’ve attached a reference image to show what I’m working with. Any tips, workarounds, or settings I might have missed would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I am using Mathcad Prime Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.0.0Issue occurs using Mathcad Prime v9.0 and printing a file to PDF using either Adobe PDF or Bluebeam PDF.When PDF-ing Mathcad Prime files that use "Areas," which are collapsible containers for portions of the file, the contents of the Area are printed as raster images instead of text. This is problematic for several reasons:1. Rasterized text is not word-searchable or selectable2. File size balloons considerably compared to text3. The PDF takes much longer to print since the text must be converted to raster by the PDF distiller. Is there a workaround or has this issue been addressed in newer releases of Mathcad Prime?
Hi have quite the extensive Hole chart that fills 2 sheets in my Creo 10 Drawing. All was going well until I noticed I lost my Hole Designations that tells me in the hole chart its dimensions.I have had one other person have the same experience.Anyone know how to get them back?
The values of a symmetric function f(x, y) are calculated and entered into a table using the matrix(m, n, f) function. However, taking into account the function's symmetry effectively doubles the computational effort. How can I eliminate this double computational effort while taking the function's symmetry into account?
So our company updated our office products to use the microsoft sensitivity labeling on documents. Now when editing family tables, one must select a label before opening the file. While this is a headache as sometimes the dialog isnt available on the alt+tab menu and must be navigated to from the task manager. The real issue is that sometimes when closing the excel file, Creo does not know it's been closed and nothing be clicked on. Even if I kill the excel process through the task manager, Creo is still waiting and clicking anywhere in the program results in the windows sound that I am clicking an invalid window. Does anyone know any work arounds? It appears that the real issue is you must select a sensitivity label before editing the file.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 12.4 and Datecode12.4.0.0I am experiencing an issue when exporting a model from Creo Parametric to STEP format. When I create a model as a single part and then add weld bodies, Creo automatically generates additional bodies and layers during the export. When I reopen the exported STEP file in Creo, the structure of the model appears completely different from the original one created in Creo.Could you please help me understand why this happens and how to correctly export the STEP file without the model structure changing?Thank you in advance for your support.
I tried to download the Mathcad Express version but I dont recieve the email with the installation file. I've checked junk mail and filters and there is nothing there. Thanks,Peter
