PTC is pleased to announce the Mathcad Community Challenge, a bimonthly event where we’ll post an open-ended challenge for you to solve using PTC Mathcad Prime. Feel free to collaborate with other users and their worksheets by attaching your worksheet to your posts here. In general, at the start of every other month, we’ll post a new thread with the challenge. You can post in that thread throughout the month with contributions. Around the middle of the next month, PTC and our affiliates will go through the contributions and create a resolution to it in the form of a Mathcad.com blog article discussing your interesting approaches to the problem. Then, we’ll post a new challenge at the start of the next month. We hope you enjoy this challenge! Some rules and guidelines:Your contributions will be monitored by PTC and PTC-affiliated parties. We may use them in marketing material, including in post-challenge discussions hosted on PTC properties like Mathcad.com and PTC.com Use PTC Mathcad’s

Check out the replay for the Mathcad Advanced Controls Crash Course! Presented by Vipul Trivedi ( @VipulT ) of the Mathcad Application Engineer team and PTC's internal expert on Advanced Controls, he walks you through... What Advanced Controls are and why they're so powerful and interesting How to use them in Mathcad Prime 10 Common use cases and examples for each of the six control types (List Boxes, Checkboxes, Text Boxes, Radio Buttons, Sliders, and Buttons) You'll walk away much more confident in your ability to implement these scripted objects, and you'll also have access to not only the replay, but the worksheet examples with the pre-built scripts that you can copy-paste for your own projects. This webcast is intended for people who are already familiar with Mathcad Prime, but are not already familiar with scripting. The worksheet .zip attached to this Community post are Mathcad Prime 11 worksheets. Certain changes made to Prime 11 changed how script
If you now go to Mathcad's website, you'll be redirected to the Mathcad page on PTC.com. You'll also notice there are suddenly a bunch of new Mathcad pages on PTC.com that weren't there before. And you'll notice that Mathcad is a "Featured Product" and Engineering Calculations is a "Technology" on the PTC top navigation! Yes, this is all intentional. If it seems like I've been quiet for the past several months, that's because it took a lot of work to return Mathcad back where it belongs! (And if you were wondering why new Mathcad blogs and webinars were being published to PTC.com and not mathcad.com for the past half a year, or why old Mathcad webinars are being uploaded to the YouTube channel, this is why.) PTC.com, in terms of available technology, security, and usability, is vastly superior to what mathcad.com can offer. I hope you all see a lot of benefits to this move. If you have any questions or found any glitches, please let me know!
Creo+ 13.2 delivers enhancements to help users collaborate effectively and achieve higher-quality results on their best designs in less time. Surfacing introduces piece-to-piece parameterization and improved control of tangent curve lengths – making it easier to build precise surfaces with fewer iterations. Multibody design is more flexible with better creation and updates of assemblies derived from multibody parts. Simulation-driven design in Creo incorporates the latest Ansys solvers and simplified bolt elements for patterns and preloads, giving teams more accurate studies with less setup effort. Gain major time savings in composite design with significant improvements to reuse existing designs. In manufacturing, Creo+ 13.2 has a new spiral toolpath type, gouge protection, and a closed-loop option to reduce errors in high-speed milling steps.Read the release notes to learn more.

Editor's note: This blog article has a companion PTC Mathcad Prime 8 worksheet that can be read in Prime 8 or versions released afterward. You can find it in this post's sidebar. Calculus is a branch of mathematics quantifying the change of a function. Calculus can be broken down into two main areas: derivative calculus and integral calculus. Derivatives measure the rate of change of a function. Integrals measure the area under the curve of a function. A partial derivative involves a function that is driven by multiple variables, and we find the rate of change of one variable while assuming all the other variables are held constant. If you have ever driven a car, then you can understand the basic concepts of derivatives and partial derivatives. Let’s look at a simple example. Derivatives and Your Car Let’s say you are going to drive your car from your home to work. It takes time to get from point A to point B. You can use a watch to measure time and an odometer to measure distance. Yo
