Community members... I'm making a cavity and every time I make the part it comes standard with "Units"=millimeter Newton Second (mmNs) AND Precision = Absolute 0.01. I would like to create a different measurement standard. As I am in Brazil, we use millimeters and the precision would like it to be Relative 0.0012. What configuration should I use? Thank you very much! Creo 10.0.3.0 Translated by the Community Moderation using Google Translate Membros da comunidade... Hello - I am trying to apply a torsional load onto a shaft in Creo Simulation Live. I have tried several methods to apply a torque to the shaft. For simplicity, I made a 1" diameter shaft that is 2" long. I have one face fixed. I tried applying a 37 in-lb moment load to the the opposite face in the z direction which is the axis of the shaft. The XY shear stress that it returned with this method was extremely high. Calculating by hand the shear stress should be 188 psi in the shaft. I have the accuracy set to the maximum. I then tried applying a force of 74 lbf to a point on the bottom of the face of the shaft in the X direction in order to simulate an equivalent torque of 37 in-lbf. Please see screenshot. This resulted in a XY stress of 142 psi. This result was much closer to the hand calculation of 188 psi, but is still off by 25%. What is the best method to apply a torque to a shaft in CSL?
HiI created a curve from equation.x = sin(t) + 2 * Sin(2*t)y = cos(t) - 2 * cos(2*t)z = -sin(3*t)I tried Scale Model but it doesn't work on a curve from an equation. Is it possible to scale the curve without modifying the equations? Thanks
how to figure out whether the javaAPP is running before StartJLinkApplication?I want to execute the task registered in javaApp.I use jlink to StartJLinkApplication ,but I dont know whether the app is running .If running will get error such asXToolkitInUseThen can not get the handle of JLinkApplication. Is there a way to get the handle app running? Can invoke the task in runed jlink application
Hello All, I have an issue in drawings where occasionally my drawing tree will completely disappear, and is replaced by a detail tree, which is blank, I try to activate and deactivate the window to no avail. The layer tree will now only show in the model tree lower window, where as it usually resides in the upper drawing tree window. If I restart CREO the problem goes away and the drawing tree is restored. I am curious if there is a glitch in the software or I'm inadvertently activating some kind of shortcut?
All,Today when selecting a feature/geometry in ModelCheck report the geometry is highlighted.is it possible to change the behavior to perform "Select" ( so the feature will be selected rather than highlighted ) ?Many thanks,
When attempting to unbend or flatten the sheet metal, I encounter the error 'Feature failed to regenerate.' The part is quite intricate with numerous bends. Despite converting it to sheet metal and attempting both unbending and flattening, both efforts resulted in the 'Feature failed to regenerate' error. I am eager to have the part flattened, and I would appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue
We are using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.0.0 How can we get the `ProMdl` handle of an embedded part (the part itself, not of the part occurrence) using the Pro/Toolkit API? I know that we can get the `ProMdl` handle of the part occurrence in the assembly via the assembly `ProMdl` --> `ProSolidFeatVisit` --> filter for `PRO_FEAT_COMPONENT` --> `ProAsmcompMdlGet`.But we need the `ProMdl` handle of the actual part, not of the occurrence - in order to inspect the geometry before assembly-level features were applied. For normal (non-embedded) parts, we would use:ProMdl mdl;ProError err = ProMdlFiletypeLoad(path, PRO_MDLFILE_UNUSED, PRO_B_FALSE, &mdl); This works fine for normal paths like "C:\models\PRT0001.prt.1", but for an embedded component's virtual path like "C:\models\PRT0002<<ASM0001>>.prt", it returns `PRO_TK_INVALID_NAME`. In the Creo Parametric UI, one can right-click the embedded part and click "Open" to see it in its
Is there any way to measure the thickness of a helical screw flight ?
Hi all,We have a BOM table set up that works fine (no duplicates) but when adding a column for the weight it brings back in the duplicates.I guess this is to show the weight of each part and each individual duplicate part.Is there a way to not show the duplicates and the weight column to show a weight for each part?eg. if there is two of Item 5, the Qty column would show '2' but the Weight column would show the weight for one of Item 5?Creo 8 Hope that makes sense. Thanks
Hello, I am designing a mechanism in which I want my Lead screw to rotate on its axis only. fixed to one housing so that the lead screw does not transverse, I want the nut to translate but avoid rotation I already tried the cylinder connection but it is not working for my problem And if anybody suggests providing a generic gear connection please also describe the reason behind it I am not able to understand the reason behind providing a gear connection I am using Creo Parametric
Hi,I use CREO Parametric 9.0 Student Eddition as a Hobbyist. When creating an STL file (Save as STL) for a 3D printer, I observe that the number of facets on circular srfaces is relatively low. My question is : How to increase the number of factets, in order to get more precise circular surfaces ? I foud this article in the CREO support, but it seems to be valid for another software : https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/ced_modeling/r20.5.0.0/fr/index.html#page/ced_modeling/OSDM_Main/Parts_23.html Is there a limitation of the Student Edition ? Thanks for your help
Reference topic link - https://community.ptc.com/t5/Analysis/Mechanism-connection-constraints/m-p/1405#M1430 Can you please give me reason why are you using the generic gear connection I am not getting proper reason behind it I would highly appreciate your help
Dear all, I Need solution to Remove "Part missing in directory" message by using creo toolkit program as shown in below image within creo toolkit features. and when program ends, I need to create log file for missing parts in directory.Case 1- if i have many parts, drawings in directory but for few drawings ,its linked parts are is not available in same directory then if i try to run my creo toolkit feature, it is showing "Part missing in directory" message multiple time for each and every missing parts as shown in below image. so it is creating interruption in run time.(example -if i have 10 parts missing for 10 drawings in directory then message will be populated for 10 times)Query - can we remove this message by using creo toolkit program as shown in below image while run time and when program ends can we make its log file for missing parts ?Condition - 1) Part name and drawing name may be same or different.2) one drawing can have multiple parts linked.Image -&n
Hi teamI am attempting to execute a Creo operation asynchronously. However, when I use the ProEngineerStart API call, it returns a PRO_TK_BAD_CONTEXT error. If anyone possesses knowledge of a viable solution, Kindly, please let me know. regardsAravind
If someone were to not have access to the WindChill batch tool, but still wanted to be able to manage and easily print out several single part drawings to a project, what other ways are there? I recently ran across a post where someone would create a top level drawing and was "overlaying" each individual part drawing inside that (1) file. However if that process can not be automated or batched, then its really no faster than opening each individual drawing and printing it. Just want to make sure I'm no missing anything. Thank You!
I have this Generic part (Fig. 1.1) for my Family Table. As you can see in Fig. 1.2, they're obviously in the Model Tree. Their columns show in the Family Table (Fig. 1.3) and when I verify (Fig. 1.4) they're successful. But even if everything shows that the features should show in the instances, they're still not showing (Fig. 1.5). It doesn't look like they were suppressed, more like the were never added to the model. I've tried to update the models in my workspace, and also upload them with tiny changes but nothing happens. I even tried not adding the features to the Family Table to see if they showed all of the patterns but no. Has anybody experienced this before? Am I missing something? Can this be solved by resetting Creo?I'm using Creo 7.0.10.0 but we're migrating to Creo 9 in a couple of days, could that be the issue? Thanks in advance! I have a user that is asking to have centerlines automatically break when passing through an item in the drawing. Is there a config option that will make this happen? I know you can manually break them in a few different ways but in this instance, we use 'Show and Erase' to create the centerlines.
Hi, I need to do a simulation with Creo Simulate 10.0.3 as indicated in the subject.I used shell finite elements ans it is not a problem to set constraints and the internal idrostatic pressure, the problem is another The tank is covered by sand, 30 cm per side as indicated in the attached files. The sand causes a force on the tank, and limits the lateral expansion. How can I interpret the sand? With a Force/Pressure on the tank and a laterally Pressure/Constraint/Springs to limit the lateral expansion? In order to represent the sand I also thought to create an external component/body but I think it is too complicated. I'll need sand structural property and I'll have to decide if use bounded interface or contact interface between tank and sand.Any suggestion? Thanks
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.5.0When using IFX I am unable to create an instance for PEM fasteners. I set the folder to create the part files and then select any of the OOTB dat files provided for PEM fasteners and CREO returns a PRO TK error. I have had no problems when creating any other type of nut, washer or screw, it is only PEM fasteners that do not work.I have noticed that there are no nut_80.prt or nut_99.prt files in my folder C:\PTC\Creo 8.0.5.0\Common Files\ifx\parts\ifx_fastener_templates\nuts (if that is relevant)Here are the errors that I facedError message reads "An unknown error occurred (PRO_TK_E_NOT_FOUND)
Initially posted in this topic Sorry for digging up a really old discussion, but this issue is still relevant.Windchill Help still claims that opening a .pha file downloaded from Windchill with standalone browser should open the model in an existing session if one is open, but it's not working like that for me: I tried with associating the .pha to parametric.exe and to parametric.bat, but both just start a new Creo session. My Creo version is 7.0.10.0.Has anyone ever got this working properly?
How can I show the thread (of a threaded hole) when the axes are hidden?
Thank you!
I am trying to model a fish scale array pattern as a film like structure. but unfortunately i cant able to create the overlapping surfaces. I figured that I need some degree of tilt between the individual scales and the base.Attached pictures of what iam getting and what I need. Help me to get the desired output.
Using Creo Parametric 8.0.4.0 - Spin Center is turned off so that it will spin about the mouse location. Datum Plane shading is turned off (though it doesn't matter if it is off or on), and are not visible in my model. When I hold the middle mouse button down, many times it won't activate the spin, and if I'm in a feature, often will close me out of the feature instead of activating spin. When it does activate the spin, as I'm spinning, the spin location will jump to other geometry as the mouse cursor goes over it, instead of staying on the entity or location where I originally started the spin. This only has happened since upgrading to 8. I never had this issue with Creo 5. Not sure if this is a graphic card issue, or an issue with Creo. Running on a Lenovo P51 with an Nvidia Quadro M2200 card. Incidentally, when I have Spin Center turned on, I still can't get the spin functionality to initiate many times when I hold the middle mouse but
