Hi, I have a OTK dialog where I use pfsession->Select() for selecting entity from UI. I have button which when presessed, asks user for selection by ->select call. If user launches a new UI or press cancel, creo crashes. My investigation says, the selection object is leaking. Any help. Thanks
Hi all, today's question: How to pattern a pattern, and have it's associated parts follow.. the issue is this: I have a panel with a set of PEM studs. 12 studs make up the initial pattern. (A pattern of 12 holes on the sheet metal part for the PEM studs) I then want to repeat this Stud pattern a few times. SO, what I do is this:Create my holePattern itThen pattern the pattern Then in the assembly I constrain my PEM stud to the first hole, and patter in per 'reference'I am then stuck as to how to get the rest of the PEMs to follow the 2nd pattern. I seem to need to repeat this PEM placement & pattern for each subsequent hole pattern. Is there a better way to assemble this; so that the constrained part follows the pattern of the pattern?
When I add Connection Parameters that I want to have displayed in my Electrical Parameters Dialog box, they are saved for the whole creo session. When I close, and launch Creo again, I need to add them again.I tried saving my customization.ui file but unfortunately no joy.Is there a way to save this model tree settings for these specific cabling dialog boxes.I am on Creo Parametric 9.0.4.0
Hi all, I ask the community before PTC...We use CREO 7.0.2.0.We use datum point in a sketch, to figure location of several concrete mass.We put an hole table, edit the point tag according the CS21713 tips But in the drawing, we would like to show them using a leader note for making a visual link between the hole table and the view. How can we retrieve the point name in the leader note?I try the &Name but it doesn't work.Second question:In the table hole, can we use relation, like in repeat region? We would like to use a relation in order to simplify the name of each point. For example:Point name : 001_SE08_114Point name simplified : SE08 Regards
I have old Creo 4.0 parts and Hiding a Layer does NOT affect the visibility of those layer-controlled items in the Model Tree. I suppose it's a "New Feature!" that turning off the datum plane layer suddenly makes my planes in my Model Tree suddenly disappear, light grey on white... but I call that a "BUG". And I want it off. There's gotta be a config.pro option that helps make my Creo 9.0 more usable ??? please?
“Identify and eliminate waste and pollution at source, circulate products and materials at their highest value for as long as possible and regenerate natural systems. So, put back at least as much or more than you take out from the natural ecosystems on which we depend. And do all that by design.” This podcast is no stranger to innovation that drives positive change. We’ve met people who are making electric transport easily accessible in Africa and those using VR to enable medics to reach patients in disaster zones. But what if we could redesign the whole economy to make it waste-free and sustainable for the future? The Ellen MacArthur Foundation was founded in 2010 by the sailor Ellen MacArthur, with the aim of driving forward a circular economy. Traditionally, we think of the economy as linear: we start with extracting raw materials, which we then make products, use those products for their lifespan, and then they are disposed of as waste. The circula
Hello,I have a question about manufacturing family parts.I have 2 parts ruled by a family table. Simple parts, one with a M8 threaded hole and the other with a 8.4 countersink hole. This is the only difference between the 2 versions. The 2 versions/functions cannot cohexist in the generic part because the threaded hole and the countersink are both chamfered. The geometry for the chamfer on the threaded hole is destroy by the countersink fonction and vice versa for the chamfer and the countersink. In the generic part ONLY i am forced to desacivate one of the 2 fonctions. No problem with childs parts. Due to this specification is it possible to have one manufacuring assembly with a "selection " version threaded or version 8.4 ? Or am i forced to have 2 manufacuring assembly with both "child" parts ? Thanks in advance
Hi, when running ptcstatus.bat from a users PC, it writes "counted" at all licenses. running it from the server it writes who are using the license and etc. Any one know what setting to adjust. I guess it is either the VPN or Firewall that need to allow access. I hope someone can help me, thanks
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM150INTRALINK:11.1 M020-CPS19Creo:4.0 M150If I lock a part in the workspace, I can't modify the hatch interval of that part with DRW.Is this normal?
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode 8.0.7.0Hi,While running a Multi-Objective Design Study, we find that a regen backup of the model is stored in the working directory before being deleted. We do not have "regen_backup_using_disk" set to "yes" in our config file, so this was surprising to see. Is it possible to turn off this feature of temporarily saving a backup? The Study is 20+ hours and we're wondering if turning this off will reduce this time?Thank you.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.4.0I am making a drawing for an assembly. I want to be able to change the appearances/colors of various parts for different drawing views (the drawing views have their "Display style" set to "Shading With Edges"). This way I can highlight the different parts in each drawing view.To accomplish this I have created multiple bodies of each part. Each body has a different appearance/color assigned to it. I then have a family table in each part that can suppress/resume each one of the bodies. In the assembly I have multiple simplified representations that use the various instances of each part. This allows the different appearances/colors of each part to show up in each of the simplified representations. This works great in the model, but the different appearances/colors do not show up properly in the drawing views. The colors are all wrong in the drawing. Its like the appearances are brought into the drawing properly or something How ca
Hello PTC community,I am using Creo Simulate (version 7) to perform the following FEA study. I need to idealize four Guy wires within the genset exhaust and silencer assembly that will help stabilize the chimney when high wind loads might be experienced. The four Guy wires are meant to be attached to the frame which is supposed to be mounted onto the flange of the top most part of the chimney as shown in the pictures attached.I have tried single and multiple beam elements till now but both of them behave unnaturally. I have used a rigid connection at the top for connecting frame and the beam elements and have used fixed translation free rotation for all at the bottom point (ground) of the beam. Please see attached some of the pictures that will help communicate better. For the single beam element, when wind loading is experienced, two ropes must be in tension like state while the opposite two must behave different to these. However, all four more or less seem to behave the same? Also th
Hello I'm using the generative design application within creo 9 (9.0.3.0). When I've done my optimization and want to look at the stresses in the final design I can't see anything, It's only one homogenous colour. This also applies to the initial simulation results. I have tried removing all of my config options but that did not help. Has anybody encountered something similar? Thanks in advance BR Tobias
Hi, I'm seeing some very strange solutions in generative design. See the image below. Fixation points at the bottom and the top is connected to a now hidden body. I have a body that divides the part as excluded body. What I get is material being generated "pressed" up against this cutting body, rather than having material straight between the fixation holes. Any idea what could cause this?
I have a problem with allowance of function explore study designs in Generative Design. It is grey. Is it problem in license or my generated model? I have a school education license which i use via School VPN. Version: 10.0.0.0 I've already tried to other models, as a result the same problem
When I include a component in Flat harness using "Attach to harness" in cabling module in creo It comes up in flat Harness using assemble components. But as soon as I click on regenerate in the flat file the component is disappearing.Could anyone help me with the root-cause and solution for this issue? Thanks,
I have a set of leaf springs that are tied together at both ends via rivets. When the springs are in their free states, they don't lie on top of each other. Thus, the assy only contacts the mating points when under strain. I presume I need to mate one end and then use a bonded interface that will pull together the needed surfaces during the simulation. I understand that this is only possible using FEM mode. I am on Creo 4, M150 I don't have a standalone solver. What are my options?

We've been having a bit of trouble allowing offsite folks to be able to access licenses for Creo (we're using V9.0). The IT folks have tightened up access to the network, and thus the random assignment of ports that is normal for the ptc_d daemon is not working well. lmadmin is okay, because that is at the "standard" 7788 port. I'd seen posts on these forums implying that I could add port to the end of the DAEMON line in the license file and that it would thereafter use that port for the ptc_d daemon. I did this, with 7799, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect. Is this the correct method to specify that second port? It deviates from the method suggested by Flexura, but I figured this is PTC and they have their own setup for licensing. Am I wrong? P.S. I know it is possible to set up the firewall to allow communication with ptc_d.exe and lmadmin.exe, but I'm just looking at the port issue at the moment.
Hi all, I am working on automating few flows in Creo 8.0.3 using jlink. Is there a way to identify if a model has been modified in creo? I have tried few apis provided in jlink toolkit documentation - GetIsModified() and GetVersionStamp(). Although the output of these methods depend on 'save' action triggered by users. I am looking for a way to track changes in files since the beginning of the session and to identify if any modification in sub-assembly or components changes the parent assembly as well. Java provides a way to track file changes in a directory using WatchServiceI am successfully able to identify if a sub-assembly or its parent has been modified by registering the workspace and track changes using this method. Are there any limitations to this approach? And is this how creo tracks changes in a model? Thanks
PTC CREO parametric version 6need to flatten the flightI modelled flight screw in CREO parametric with variable pitch it has revolution of 810 degree. for manufacturing purpose I need to flatten the screw flight. I tried full flight screw to be flatted by using flatten quilt, it failed, again I tried to flatten first 360 degree it was flattened but I did not get exact dimension in flatten quilt. is there any way to do the model in sheet metal or part modelling I attached image for your reference. I did not get exact dimension it differs with flatten quilt and helical screw. 1.unflatten quilt2.flattent quilt
Hi, We try to get outline curve length. (outline curve mean highlight in picture) Our solution is simple. 1. create section 2. get section curve 3. get curve length But, section curve have all curve. We do not need inside curve (highlight in picture) Please give me an idea if there is a better way. Thanks, Wram Regards. SeonHo CHA.
As per the original post. Getting same fetal error and have attached error code.
Software: Creo 9.0 I have an assembly with a rotating component. Other users want to open CAD assemblies with depictions of this component at its limits of travel. There is also a need to calculate the CG of the assembly with the component at its limits of travel. I am aware of "Explode State", but there are two reasons why it is not a complete solution: 1) the other users have minimal training and are not aware of how to activate or use the Explode State function.2) the need to calculate CG of the assembly requires that it be actually positioned at the limits of travel, and Explode State is only visual. I can use Family Tables with the component positioned using Angle Offset, but I can't figure out how to get Family Table to affect dimensions of lower-level assemblies. The result is that the bearing housings on the component rotate as well and are not oriented correctly. How would you suggest I resolve this issue? The greatly-preferred method
hello everybody, we are using FLEXNET PUBLISHER 11.19is it correct that PTCSTATUS on server machine is not showing IN USE license even if they are used by users?ptc_d.log shows license as INACTIVE but the licenses are in use by designers.thanks
