Hello Guys,I'm new to CREO and we are introducing a the CAD system in our business while already having an imbedded and running Windchill. For BoM handling we want to be able to maintain our FindNumbers in CREO and pass the parameter further to Windchill to maintain the Design BoM. (all not a problem with the correct server settings and parameter mapping)I was able to create the component parameter in our assembly template as well as also display it in the model tree. Now I'm facing two problems, one to pass a relation to every occurrence in the assembly and the other to define that component parameter properties to always be a "string" and "designated".Relation:Since we have some components (C-Parts) which have a hard defined Findnumber in their "local" parameters I'm looking for a way to synch them into the component parameter.I was able to do that via a relation on that occurrence in the assembly (see printscreen), but would like to loop that relation to every component in the a
Hello everyone, I am currently working on temperature modelling in tooling in Creo Simulate. On my current study, I would need to use the temperature distribution of the last step of a transient simulation as a starting condition for another transient simulation. I know that it is possible to set a fixed temperature or use the temperature distribution of a steady-state simulation as a starting condition for a transient simulation, but I don't see how I can use a result from a transient study. Do you know any techniques to do this? Thank you JulieFrench mechanical engineering student
Welding, Mold/Cast commands not working in Creo Parametric 8.0.3.0 (student edition). How to make them work?
I need to update my license files and can't find how to start the Installation Assistant? What is the usual filepath and name of the install file. This is an existing installtion. I've looked for possible .exe and .bat files, but am missing the blindingly obvioius. Many thanks, Sam
My goal is to reference a defined local "sketch feature" parameter from the "sketch section" associated with the same sketch feature. Intent is to define a sketch dimension to the value of the parameter.Creo help suggests that the way to do this is by qualifying the parameter name with the feature ID, such as: <param_name>:<feature_id> or :<feature_name>or perhaps <param_name>:FID_<feature_Id> or :FID_<feature_name>both forms have been tried. These referencing syntax forms are not working. Example: Sketch SK_123 exists with Feature Number 10 and Internal Feature ID 50 (obtained via Feature Information). Within "Feature SK_123 id 50" (given in the Relations dialog when "Look In" is "Feature") parameter ABC is defined. Within "Section 1 of Feature SK_123 id 50" (given in the Relations dialog with "Look In" is "Section") is relation sd0 = ABC:50 (or ABC:10 or ABC:FID_50 o
First, the parameter part_table_editor is set to "excel" That said, Creo will not allow me to open and edit a table pattern in excel if I already have another excel window open. When attempting to do that it throws this error: The fix I have found (which is incredibly inefficient) is to close all open excel windows, open the table pattern, then reopen the excel files I am using to generate the data needed for the table pattern. Does anyone know if there is a fix that will allow me to open table patterns in excel without closing all other excel windows?
When I show annotation for a view to display the MODEL DATUM in a view it appears, I can drag it up or down vertically in the view but, I cant shorten this ridiculously long leader.I have had this issue on many drawings. The datum is attached and along plane on the model.
Hey, I have a symbol in my draft format, when I use this format I want to get this symbol. The problem is the symbol is converted into draft entities and not selectable anymore.I cannot look for it with ProDrawingDtlsymdefVisit and ProDrawingDtlsymdefsCollect. Is there a way to get the symbol definition attached to the format? Thank you!
I am working on drafting , where I have to collect all dimension in drawing for this I used ProDrawingDimensionVisit() function but argument like visitAction & FilterAction need to pass Please help me to create dimension VisitAction Function
Hello Everybody; one of our users showed me a "it worked perfectly ok yesterday but now it doesnt" issue. He opens two Creo-sessions because he wants to have different backgrounds for the main assembly and the sub-assembly he is working on.- Main assembly opened in session 1- Sub-assembly opened in session 2 versioned number is 1- Changes made in sub-assembly > Save > versioned number is now 2- Regenerates Main-assembly but changes in sub-assembly are missingWhen you open the sub-assembly from the main assembly you can see that its still versioned number 1 ! As my colleague said, he always worked that way and now it doesnt.Cant see anything suspicious in the config.proI can replicate this behaviour on my machine. However, when he opens both files in ONE session everything is normal and changes are taken over as expected. There were some updates to the system yesterday, but nothing Creo related as far as i know. Has anybody experienced simular b
Hello,Is it possible to configure Creo 8 to set by default the extrusion of a sheet metal part as symetric ? Thanks,Best regards,Nicolas GUILLOT
When using Creo standard bulk items I have 2 scenarios.1. bulk item will always display as A/R in the BOM repeat region. Glues, tape, etc. No prompt when added to an assembly.2. bulk item will always display a value based bom_report_quantity. Tubing, foam, etc. User prompted when added to an assembly to enter the bom_report_quantity. I can get either to work independently but not together. I have tried many variations but I end up with getting the "errors regenerating repeat region relations" when updating the tables. The below attempts return no values for bom_qty#1IF ASM_MBR_REPORT_QUANTITY==0BOM_QTY="A/R"ELSEBOM_QTY=rpt_qtyENDIF #2IF EXISTS ("ASM_MBR_REPORT_QUANTITY")IF ASM_MBR_REPORT_QUANTITY==0BOM_QTY="A/R"ELSEBOM_QTY=rpt_qtyENDIFENDIF The below reports relation errors and will only have a blank for the bulk item with a bom_report_quantity of 0BOM_QTY=rpt_qtyIF EXISTS ("ASM_MBR_REPORT_QUANTITY")IF ASM_MBR_REPORT_QUANTITY==0BOM_QTY="A/R"ELSEBOM_QTY=rpt_qty
I am using Creo Parametric 7.0 and am making a drawing and one of the parts in the assembly has been imported from a .step file. When I take a section of the assembly, the imported part instead of showing just solid lines, shows all of the quilt lines in magenta and purple. So essentially, you are seeing through the part, no longer just the nearest surfaces to the section plane. I have found some threads about using the import data doctor and have tried to make it a solid part, but have had no luck. Is there a way to fix this in the drawing itself, or does it need to be done in the part? The first picture is what it looks like when I take a section, the second picture is what it looks like when I dont take a section (what it should look like).
How to excude out assembly level features in the BOM?Sometimes supplier's 3D model is an assembly, so i only need top assembly to show in the BOM, how to excude out it's subpart and subassembly items in the BOM? (In solidworks i can simplely check not show in BOM)When you have big assembly file, you group your parts into subassembly file, so i don't care this subassembly in the BOM, all i need is all the parts and subassembly in it. (In Solidworks, i just simplely promote everything in that assemble file then only shows parts in side.)How to export above adjusted BOM into excel? and how to do that without create a drawing? (Solidworks can build BOM table straight in modelling interface)

The below mapkeys create a macro for using the incremental measure functionality. If it is something you use often this is worth automating. I have added this to the UI customization available in Creo 4. It works in part mode and assembly mode. The mapkey "imdi" calls the measure tool and defines a projection reference using a csys of the current model. Caveats: I am exploiting the default csys in start models having containing the string "csys_def". It uses a search function that selects a csys whose name contains the following string "*csys_def". If your start part(s) use a name for the default csys that is different you will need to modify the ".fcsx" mapkey accordingly. Mapkey definitions used follow: mapkey .fcsx @MAPKEY_NAMEfind def csys in model;@MAPKEY_LABELfind def csys;\mapkey(continued) ~ Key `main_dlg_cur` `proe_win` 9 1141 53 38141958 0 1451 868 1920 1200 \mapkey(continued) 11931661 `Ctrl+F`;~ Command `ProCmdMdlTreeSearch` ;\mapkey(conti
Hey guys, I'm on Creo Parametric 6.0 and I created 2 mapkeys to turn on/off a grid for any .drw files and I would like to know if it's possible to create a toggle in order to have only 1 mapkey for both the actions. I saw that when you have 1 for on and 0 for off, you could remove the number to create the toggle but here we have #SHOW GRID or #HIDE GRID. The 2 mapkeys are as follows : mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `main_dlg_cur` `page_Sketch_control_btn` 1;\mapkey(continued) ~ Command `ProCmdDwgDraftGrid` ;#GRID PARAMS;#X&Y SPACING;15;#DONE/RETURN;\mapkey(continued) #HIDE GRID;~ Command `ProCmdObjActUI` 1; mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `main_dlg_cur` `page_Sketch_control_btn` 1;\mapkey(continued) ~ Command `ProCmdDwgDraftGrid` ;#GRID PARAMS;#X&Y SPACING;15;#DONE/RETURN;\mapkey(continued) #SHOW GRID;~ Command `ProCmdObjActUI` 1; Thank you in advance.

Hi ,I am working on Threaded Hole Feature , I used ProElementHoleThreadSeriesSet() & ProElementHoleScrewSizeSet() API to update hole type & Screw size and used ProFeatureWithoptionsRedefineFeature() after the same , But still not updating the feature Please help me to resolve the issue . Thanks & Regards,Kunal Bidkar
Apologies, I know there's multiple threads on this, but a lot of them are several years older or more and some of the links no longer work. Does anyone know of or have any recommended sites for training material on using the Import Data Doctor?
Hello,In Schematics, several persons can edit the central catalog (this is useful), but the problem is that a person can overwrite the current version with an old outdated version. How to make it so that it is impossible, having an outdated version, to make a new version out of it? To first update to the current one, edit it and then make a new version of it. Like in Windchill with CAD-documents: .prt and .asm.

Hi all, recently, I was messing around with the import settings for STEP files. I didn't think I was saving any of these import options into some import configuration but since then something seems amiss as I often wind up with this situation: Sometimes changing the settings to "ignore" the error works (in that the warning light goes away) but I have had times where the error started coming back after trying to make further changes to the imported model. Looking for any advice from anyone with experience with these import validation errors, or STEP import settings and where they are "stored" in a typical Creo installation and how to restore them to default settings?
Hello,I have two randomly points on the 3d curve. I want to create 5 evenly distributed points between two initial points and on that curve. How do I achieve this? Thanks,Richard
We have users located overseas (UK, Spain) who have reported that while using Creo Parametric, their systems lag to the point where "it's almost unusable" - I've done video calls where I can see as they scroll or type, there is a 5-10 second lag in the system. It does not start immediately upon launch, some users have reported delays of anywhere from 2-10 minutes before things start to slow. I have had them reinstall Creo, double check their graphics drivers, and ensure their Java is compatible. We had a call with a PTC rep who had one of the users disable much of his graphics capability, and this failed to stop the lag. They claim that one of the users was able to unplug his ethernet cable and Creo resumed running smoothly, until he plugged everything back in. The license server is located in the US, we're running Parametric 7.0.3.0
