Hi Guys,  when in a drawing, i used to just double click on a dimension and it would call up box where i could add dimension text and such Now in Creo7 I cannot as the menus have changed. (not sure when this may have changed as we jumped from Creo3 to Creo7) If I want to edit (which I do ALOT everyday) I have to click the dimension, then go up to dimension text button to get this to happen. Wish i could double click, or even add a quick key to the mini floating toolbar, but NOPE Dimension text is grayed out. WTH Anyone come up with any better ways to quickly access the dimension text. Sometime I could spend weeks in a drawing, and being able to double click the dimension to get the dimension text window to show would save me a TON of time. (like it used to in creo3) Jay

Hi, PTC community! Really hoping someone can help me out with this operation sequencing problem. In the first image here's what the letters represent w.r.t my model tree:A. Surface has been swept to remove material and enforce a 1 deg. draft on it.B. As part of the same sweep from A, the the rectangular cell feature has a fillet of 1 mm.C. This section of the model also has a 1 degree draft and 1 mm fillet, but the height of my swept section is far lesser than the one used for A+B (as is obvious from the image). Now, due to the sweep from C, I'm left with a weird material condition as indicated by D. What I eventually want to do is the following:E. Apply a fillet of 1 mm to this continuous edge.F. Have this surface drafted by 1 deg. as well. What I've tried so far:1. Sweeping the highlighted edge did nothing, and ended up cutting into the drafted surface A.2. I then changed my sweep sketch and removed the top fillet from it. I was wondering if anyone has information on what the negative impact is when circular references exist (like performance)? My management team is asking if we have the users fix circular references what is the benefit to the company?

Hello everyone,    As part of one of my projects, I need to simulate a mechanism, using Creo. This mechanism contains a freewheel, which is not made with ratchets, but with a specific bearing and I don't have the CAD model.    My question is : is it possible to create a freewheel constraint on a pin connection in Creo Mechanism ?    Thank you    Julie  French mechanical engineering student 

Hi Team,   Could anyone of you help me to convert .stl file to solid geometry in creo software.   I tried to convert in Creo software from .stl file to solid object by option save as under that category as “shrinkwrap”. I recently came to Creo from Inventor, and I became somewhat dependent on the orientation cube (see attached video). After searching the community and the settings, I had come to the conclusion that such a thing was not possible in Creo. However, when doing some training with PTCU, I opened one of their files (which automatically opened in Simulate) and I saw something similar to the orientation cube labeled WCS in the bottom right corner (World Coordinate System, see attached image), which proved it's possible. This one is passive, meaning it only shows the current orientation, but that would be enough to help me.   (view in My Videos)   My question: how can I get this in Parametric? Would it be possible to make active (I can click on parts of the cube and re-orient the modeling window)? Or would it be easier to figure out how to program in 90 degree rotations about each axis in the views instead? My problem is that I have aphantasia, meaning I cannot visualize object

I am using the toolkit to get entry-port parameters from an assembly model. Right now I am able to read the name of the entry-port coordinate systems of an given component. Now I would like to get the global coordinates of these entry-port.   Is there a way to read the global coordinates from the name of an entry-ports via toolkit? I didn't even find that information in Creo directly.   Thanks a lot

I am using the analysis feature in Creo 6 to measure angles.  I have read that Creo applies the angles to the normals which makes no sense to me.  Even if I select supplement, conjugate, etc., Creo never shows the angle the way it needs to be in order to be clear.  Please see attached screenshot.  The angle that I measured is shown with the red arrows, but Creo shows only the angle to the normals.  This is confusing, especially when you show this to someone that does not use Creo. Is there any settings that would get the angle measurement to show as expected? Thanks

Would creo have the ability to select previous components while in explode rotate mode?Like in Autocad (copy previous) or (select previous...)???It drive us nuts to have to reselect huge amounts of parts we use from read only engineercontent we import into our tech pub assemblies as simplified reps... As seen above we are rotating this sub assembly and the rotate arrow is buried in the sea of parts. So if we click out of range hunting for our barley visible rotation arrow - our component selection set disappears from time to time creating a user reselect scenario of parts we just had added to our components to move dialog box..

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) 8.0 8.0.1.0When I disable the Plane Fill Display, the Datum doesn't refresh correctly: if I turn the model from the positive datum Plane to a negative Datum plane view, the color of the Datum Plane remain the same until I turn off and on the Plane Display. This issue is recurrent evry time I turn the model with Datum Display On without the Plane Fill Display.This issue is present in the 8.0.0.0 and 8.0.1.0 too.Here are the errors that I faced no error nessages

Hi all, I would like to add note to drawing dimension in suffix using VB API. As per my understanding IpfcBaseDimension.Text can handle only model dimensions. But my requirement is to update 2d dimension Can somebody throw some light on this.   Regards, ManjunathS  

I hope someone can answer this. Are default datum planes/coordinate system required? I was taught waaay back when, that 0,0,0, (origin), defination was paramount. Coordinate system more-so than planes. Any feed back welcome.

I have read most of the articles from the PTC Community on circular references, but none of the typical solutions work.Like usual, the references keep the cabling harness I am working on from being checked in to Windchill. However, the Reference Viewer doesn't bring up any circular references. Furthermore, if I save a backup locally, no .crc file is generated. My only other option is to manually find out which ones are preventing the harness from being checked in, but as it's the complete harness for a construction vehicle, I am asking for any other possible solution I may not know about.

While using ProSelect() i am unable to select datum plane from creo parametric window. Help me out if any anyone has solutions to this problem. 

Hello Creo Users,I have a couple of problems to solve: in my custom part template I currently insert manually the last-saved date of any part/assembly and the custom part number of any part model (local pre-set parameters of the custom part template). Is it possible to make the part template to: - update the date parameter after any saving action? - create, after the first saving action as example, the custom part number (so that it is unique, not already existing among the assembly)?Thank you for helping.Best regards Stefano

Hello. Would anybody, please, make a detailed description of the parameter link between parts? I want to assign the values of one part to the other, and by this, drive the second part (driven) by changing the dimensions of the first part (driving). For example, a plate of h=100mm and w=200mm, must drive another custom made plate, so that after the values of the first part (h and w) has been changed, the dimensions of the second plate changes accordingly. Best regards,Sergey 

Is there any way to create a user defined parameter in the .asm file to capture quantities of parts then use that in a note?I know you can get the quantity from the BOM but in I need more detailed because we use a lot of parts and subassembly so the subassembly can be shown in the BOM but not as a note in order to show it in the selected sheet of each part from the subassembly. currently we put this note manually so we have a several of issues   

I know how to measure the distance between two entities in Creo, but I would like to know the vector components: dx, dy, and dz.    Can Creo do this?   Thanks.

Using Creo 5.0.4I cannot tell what the "Automatic reference creation from selected background geometry" option does.                             My interpretation to the Help Center page, with it off, you have to select a sketch tool, like Line, first in order to Alt+select a background entity to add it as a reference.  With it on, you do not need to select a tool 1st.  However, I can Alt+select and add entities as references by right clicking, regardless if it's toggled on or off. sketcher_auto_create_references is not in my config file, the default is no (off). So, what does "Automatic reference creation from selected background geometry" accomplish?  For background, I am/was an advanced Solidworks user/administrator for the last 10 years and am now using Creo for a different company.  I am about 3 wee
