Creo+ and Creo Parametric

As per this thread - same issue Just logged in to ask this same question. Seems ridiculous I have to manually reorder the points, getting very good at Cut & Paste to do it though. Also frustrating that if I have a table established, and have added extra columns of data, and I add one point, CREO reorders the entire table, but not my manually added columns. 

We went from 4.0 to 7.0.  Now the imbedded browser window graphics is too large for the window it is in.  I changed the % size of the main window display in Options but this had no affect on the relative size of the graphics within the window. I have tried other Options settings and not found anything to help.  It is the same regardless of the monitor size and/or display resolution as well. Checkout the pic below.  This is nearly useless!

When we are in CREO when we superimpose views with a white part on a colored part there is no transparency effect. When printing pdf the views overlap and the white part appears transparent.This phenomenon only occurs when a part has a white skin.Can you help us ?

I am using Creo Parametric 7.0 7.0.2.0Hi, I have an assembly that is comprised of 3 parts. One part is fixed and the other two are gear like but have non-standard gear teeth. The parts with teeth do not rotate in the same plane like a spur gear and not at a 90 deg. right angle like a bevel gear. I've tried creating a mechanism using pin joints on the two moving parts, but the mechanism function doesn't allow me to define this as a gear mechanism. Also tried applying '3D contacts' to the surface of the teeth but apparently the surfaces on the teeth are not planer or cylindrical and are not selectable as such. Need help in defining a functional mechanism that will simulate the motion of the teeth as they rotate. We just need to view the meshing clearances as the parts move, not necessary for the parts to be motor driven (hand movement will suffice). As such, we need the meshing teeth surfaces to come in contact with each other. Any suggestions??Here are the errors that I facednone

With modelcheck, we can easily add parameters and relations to pass mass properties to Windchill. For instance   PRT_PARAMETER MASS REAL PRT_PARAMETER MASS NONE EQ PDM PRT_RELATION MASS=PRO_MP_MASS   The problem is that WindChill is being configured with units (as it should be). If a part does NOT have their relations set to be unit sensitive, the parameter generated will not have a unit. When you try to check-in this model, the Windchill page will have an error. How can we avoid this while trying to keep to the same approach?  Most of our legacy files do not have relations set to be unit sensitive. Even newer models can have the sensitivity turned off. Is there a config that forces this on?  Thoughts?       Thanks!   @Mahesh_Sharma 

Using CP 4.  Corporate recently re-deployed a new install of CP4 to a different path.  Between the "old" install and "new" install, there are some differences that we are trying to reconcile. On the user interface, I like the min toolbar on the left side and with different icons.  I can customize it for this session. But I can't make it persistent between Creo sessions. The Creo help wasn't helpful.  It doesn't explain how to save the mini toolbar settings.  Implicit is that persistence is supposed to be automatic?? In the "old" CP 4 install, my min toolbar and icons correctly appeared on the left side of the graphics window across Creo sessions. How do I pin the location to the left, update icons, and make it persistent across Creo sessions?

I am trying to install a new license file and I have forgotten the username/password to the LMutility. I know what the default ones are, but they are not working and I don't remember changing them. Is there a way to find the username/password? I know I could remove the software and reload it, but I am on a triad and would have to do that 3 times.I am hoping that when I restart the servers tonight, they will pick up the new file, which I have named the same as the old one.One last LMutilty question: The log files have gotten large in 2+ years. Can I just move these files to a sub-folder and the system will create new ones when it restarts?

I am using Creo Parametric 6.0 6.0.5.1I'd like to create a install/update package for Creo Parametric to deploy with SCCM (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager) on all workstation in our company. Is it possible and how can I do it?

PTC has changed the way datums and such are attached to models. Now that I have upgraded to Creo 7, I cannot convert to the new paradigm without buying a license for Legacy Data Migration. I have an older Proe_Flex3C license and we cannot do the legacy data migration that is needed for Creo 7. The older licenses should be upgraded so we can continue working without being charged a fee to use our existing models. Converting to subscriptions has been looked at, but it would cost us 2X in annual fees over what we pay for maintenance now. Our annual maintenance/subscription bill with PTC is over $150K already. Charging your customers more to keep using your products is just wrong! Update the old legacy licenses.

Does anyone know if Pro/e has a command (similar to Ideas "assembly configuration" option) in order to create multiple configurations of an assembly, so that each configuration has a unique set of component constraints?I could not find something similar in Pro/e 4.0 help menu.I simply want to create multiple assembly configurations within one assembly model, without having to learn about Mechanisms.Thank you

Hi,For a long time I've thought about using Pattern feature for different directions. Let's say I'm in assembly mode, I've got a simple steel structure with many connector just exactly as below:Now that's ridiculous to insert every single element (connector) separately part by part. So we can use the Pattern inside assembly mode of course. So we need to (or maybe not) use 4 Patterns because connectors are placed in different dircetions like in the following picture:I'd like to use only one Pattern for this operation but still keep directionality of these connectors. When I pattern all connectors with one Pattern I'm unfortunately losing this directionality as follows: Therefore I've got a few questions.  Is it even possible to achieve that - using one Pattern and ain't losing the directionality?If the 1 point is impossible, what is the good practice for this example (and similar)? Using CP4.   TL/DR: You can use an interchange assembly to swap out un-related components of an assembly.  You can't (?) use it to make the same swap in a merged part.   Example A is a weldment.  I have 2 different versions.  A.ASM for the drawing and A.PRT that has all the components merged together.  A has tabulations (i.e. A-1, A-2, A-3, etc.).  The tabulations can use either components B or C.  B and C are similar, but they were created in different files.   Assembly Component A-1 B-1 A-2 B-2 A-3 C-1 A-4 C-2   Working A.ASM (generic) uses B.PRT (generic).   I made A_INTERCHANGE.ASM with the Interchange sub-type to define reference pairs between parts B.PRT and C.PRT.   A.ASM family table has a column for model B.  For A's instances, it calls out the instances for B.PRT or C.PRT as per above.  The family table verifies successfully.  I've spot-checked several of A's instances and confirmed that

Hi everyone! first post here. Recently we got a PocketNC V2-50 in our warehouse and I'm trying to set up a PostProcessor for it. I'm almost there, but for some reason when the tool is moving around the spheric surface, it is not exporting the G-Code as it should be. To me, it looks like the Post-Processor is trying to get from the beginning of one of the dome paths to the end of it but instead of going from the point, let say, M to point N as it should, it is getting to N from behind, so it's trying to calculate a smooth curve to get there, resulting in a wrong trajectory.(Image below)The cylindrical section is "fine", and I quote it because the whole program is running with the pocket NC is executing the code with the A table rotated 180º, which doesn't make any sense unless there's a setting that I'm missing in the Option File Generator (which is where I've been trying to get it done) The PostProcessor I'm using as a reference is the UNCX01.P37, which is one of the Cre
