Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Creo Parametric 4.0/7.0   Hi, I have to get all part component from an assembly and group all those components in top or bottom group. Is there a function that allows to differ top and bottom components?   I use ProSolidDispCompVisit to visit all components. Put all in an array with ProArrayObjectAdd and loop all models. I want to separate top from bottom and create/fill group with.   Thank you very much!

Any time I open a tool or click on anything that opens a pop up window (such as the options button or currently the profiles function with in framework) the window opens up so tall that I can not see the bottom making it impossible to use. I cant even re-size or drag the window upward to be able to see the bottom. How do I fix this?

Hello   We would like to show axis of a feature into one view of part drawing.   API ProAnnotationByViewShow() works fine but it is to show all axis present into view. We would like to show only specific feature's axis in specific view. For this, we tried API ProAnnotationByFeatureShow() and it suggests that PRO_TK_NOT_IMPLEMENTED.    With all this, tried with ProAnnotationShow() API but this API doesn't have option to show AXIS.    Is there any other way so that we can show AXIS of specific Feature into a view of part drawing?   Thanks and Regards Ketan

Hello Creo peopleI created couple of cosmetic sketches to show paint masking area on my solid part.In my drawing of that part, I can see those sketches only on my ISO view, but not on front or any other projected views.Any idea how to make cosmetic sketches visible? How to control it?Thanks

The config.pro option online_resources_location is not effecting the default Online resources.As a test I changed this option to:online_resources_location https://community.ptc.com/But when I open "File: Help: Online Resources" it still goes to the default location, which I think is:https://www.ptc.com/en/creo/start-page/wildfireAm I doing something wrong is is this just broken?  I have never used this before.   I am using Creo4 M140.

On the drawing the UI the new symbol tab that appears by clicking on an existing symbol shows Definition Name under the Customization group, and allows you to place a curser in that dialog, however, It doesn't allow me to edit the symbol name.  Do we still not have the ability to rename a symbol within Creo?     From the preview/user group for Symbols, it looked like we were going to get some extra symbol definition or even the Edit capabilities within Creo, however, I haven't seen any yet.  Please let me know if you find any.

I am using Creo Parametric 4.0 M100Unable to enable jt annotation while exporting from Creo parametric 4.0.We have selected the annotation check box but we are unable to select the "Rich content" option from jt export option.

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 3.0 (connected) 3.0 M040When we create sheet metal parts to be cut on our laser, many have complex splines, rather than smooth arcs. Is there a way to have Creo export DXFs from the drawing with best fit curves and arcs rather than splines and polylines?

I usually work with multiple projects at a time.Normally, I would close a project and then open a new one. With each project, one config.pro file saved in working directory is loaded into the session. I was thinking about "unloading" the options from a project, then change working directory and load/import the options in the new config.pro file (which is saved in the new working directory) when I need to work on another project. If it is possible to do so, I can work with multiple projects without having to close Creo and open it again. However, I could not find anyway to "unload" config options from a config file. I understand that if I load a new config file into current session, options from the previous config file will be overwritten. However, there are many things I want to delete but will not be overwritten, for example mapkeys or search paths. Could you please tell me whether there is a way to do that? Thank you in advance!

Hello, I'm trying to find a way to give an estimate of how much heat there will be in a component during a 3d-printing operation.My idea was to have a part, which I cut using a plane and solidification, then move the plane in order to let the part "grow" for each printed layer. During this there is heat/energy load on the surface for each layer.Ideally I would like to have the simulation to not add a new layer (move the plane) and add heat until the average temperature of the part is below a certain value. The goal is to find a time for cooling between each printed layer. I've tried using a plane + solidify where the plane's translation is bound to a parameter that increments on each regeneration (by using relation) but sadly this did not work. My question is: Is it even possible t change the geometry during a thermal simulation and would it be possible to constrain the heat load for each layer by measuring the temperature of the parts current state?

My company expanded by buying another company. The company we bought used Creo 4.0 for most of their work. My company uses SolidWorks. I am in the process of learning Creo, I had some Pro/E experience a few decades ago, hopefully I can remember some things.   Anyone have any tips or training classes that might be of help to get up to speed on Creo 4.0 as fast as possible?

Hi Guys,  when in a drawing, i used to just double click on a dimension and it would call up box where i could add dimension text and such Now in Creo7 I cannot as the menus have changed. (not sure when this may have changed as we jumped from Creo3 to Creo7) If I want to edit (which I do ALOT everyday) I have to click the dimension, then go up to dimension text button to get this to happen. Wish i could double click, or even add a quick key to the mini floating toolbar, but NOPE Dimension text is grayed out. WTH Anyone come up with any better ways to quickly access the dimension text. Sometime I could spend weeks in a drawing, and being able to double click the dimension to get the dimension text window to show would save me a TON of time. (like it used to in creo3) Jay

Hi, PTC community! Really hoping someone can help me out with this operation sequencing problem. In the first image here's what the letters represent w.r.t my model tree:A. Surface has been swept to remove material and enforce a 1 deg. draft on it.B. As part of the same sweep from A, the the rectangular cell feature has a fillet of 1 mm.C. This section of the model also has a 1 degree draft and 1 mm fillet, but the height of my swept section is far lesser than the one used for A+B (as is obvious from the image). Now, due to the sweep from C, I'm left with a weird material condition as indicated by D. What I eventually want to do is the following:E. Apply a fillet of 1 mm to this continuous edge.F. Have this surface drafted by 1 deg. as well. What I've tried so far:1. Sweeping the highlighted edge did nothing, and ended up cutting into the drafted surface A.2. I then changed my sweep sketch and removed the top fillet from it. I was wondering if anyone has information on what the negative impact is when circular references exist (like performance)? My management team is asking if we have the users fix circular references what is the benefit to the company?

Hello everyone,    As part of one of my projects, I need to simulate a mechanism, using Creo. This mechanism contains a freewheel, which is not made with ratchets, but with a specific bearing and I don't have the CAD model.    My question is : is it possible to create a freewheel constraint on a pin connection in Creo Mechanism ?    Thank you    Julie  French mechanical engineering student 

Hi Team,   Could anyone of you help me to convert .stl file to solid geometry in creo software.   I tried to convert in Creo software from .stl file to solid object by option save as under that category as “shrinkwrap”. I recently came to Creo from Inventor, and I became somewhat dependent on the orientation cube (see attached video). After searching the community and the settings, I had come to the conclusion that such a thing was not possible in Creo. However, when doing some training with PTCU, I opened one of their files (which automatically opened in Simulate) and I saw something similar to the orientation cube labeled WCS in the bottom right corner (World Coordinate System, see attached image), which proved it's possible. This one is passive, meaning it only shows the current orientation, but that would be enough to help me.   (view in My Videos)   My question: how can I get this in Parametric? Would it be possible to make active (I can click on parts of the cube and re-orient the modeling window)? Or would it be easier to figure out how to program in 90 degree rotations about each axis in the views instead? My problem is that I have aphantasia, meaning I cannot visualize object

I am using the toolkit to get entry-port parameters from an assembly model. Right now I am able to read the name of the entry-port coordinate systems of an given component. Now I would like to get the global coordinates of these entry-port.   Is there a way to read the global coordinates from the name of an entry-ports via toolkit? I didn't even find that information in Creo directly.   Thanks a lot

I am using the analysis feature in Creo 6 to measure angles.  I have read that Creo applies the angles to the normals which makes no sense to me.  Even if I select supplement, conjugate, etc., Creo never shows the angle the way it needs to be in order to be clear.  Please see attached screenshot.  The angle that I measured is shown with the red arrows, but Creo shows only the angle to the normals.  This is confusing, especially when you show this to someone that does not use Creo. Is there any settings that would get the angle measurement to show as expected? Thanks

Would creo have the ability to select previous components while in explode rotate mode?Like in Autocad (copy previous) or (select previous...)???It drive us nuts to have to reselect huge amounts of parts we use from read only engineercontent we import into our tech pub assemblies as simplified reps... As seen above we are rotating this sub assembly and the rotate arrow is buried in the sea of parts. So if we click out of range hunting for our barley visible rotation arrow - our component selection set disappears from time to time creating a user reselect scenario of parts we just had added to our components to move dialog box..

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) 8.0 8.0.1.0When I disable the Plane Fill Display, the Datum doesn't refresh correctly: if I turn the model from the positive datum Plane to a negative Datum plane view, the color of the Datum Plane remain the same until I turn off and on the Plane Display. This issue is recurrent evry time I turn the model with Datum Display On without the Plane Fill Display.This issue is present in the 8.0.0.0 and 8.0.1.0 too.Here are the errors that I faced no error nessages
