Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask for help with Schematics 4.0, there does not appear to be section dedicated to Schematics and 3D part & Assembly Design seems to be the most active subcategory here. In Schematics, I found that when I go to create a new block artifact (Diagramming tab -> Catalog Explorer). In here, I have blocks selected. In the leftmost folder tree view, I have Blocks/Components/NewComponent open. Most other  folders have a partially green filled square which seems to indicate they are library symbols that cannot be edited, while ones without are custom symbols in my particular schematic. In this Block Folder; Blocks/Components/NewComponent , I right clicked the folder to add new item. In the middle section gave the component a fitting name, then right clicked on it to add shape. I added 2 shapes. I realized when creating the second symbol that the name has to be unique at the block symbol and not the sheet symbol. For instance, if I cr

Using CP4 M040.   In a part, I created a sketch and cross-hatched it.  You can change the cross-hatch scale and angle.   In a drawing, I can't control its hatch spacing or angle.  I can't pick it at all.   Goal: In a section view, I want to turn off the section's cross hatching and substitute my own.  My sketch is intentionally drawn NOT to match the true section through the solid geometry.  To get it to look right, I need to be able to adjust MY sketch's spacing and angle.   See screen shots and attached files.  "Sketch 1" is the cross-hatched sketch.  In the drawing, how do it get to have different line spacing and angle?

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) 7.0 7.0.0.0The Creo Parametric Toolkit has a function called ProMechsurfacesAncestorsGet that retrieves the Creo Parametric surfaces used to derive a Creo Simulate surface. Creo Parametric 7.0 introduced support for multiple bodies. Is there a similar toolkit function (or set of functions) that can be used to retrieve the Creo ProSolidBody that a Simulate ProMechSolid is derived from? Thank you.

Hi all, how can i get my composite control frames to look as intended? I am using Creo 7 professional. I get this in the drawing but it looks fine in the model  

I have a working kinematic model that will work fine as long as you do not immediately rotate to the opposing side.  If I start machining on B0 and go to B180, the Z travels right through the part and continues machining without rotating the B axis.  But if I go from B0 to B90 and then on to B180, it will rotate as intended.  If I go from B90 to B270, it also will go straight through the part.  My "MACH_ZERO" CSYS match each other, I can't think of anything I have done wrong on my end.  Any ideas?  Or is this just another thing that Creo offers but is broken?Also, if I start on B180 as my first machining side, then with all following rotations, the tool will go through the part.  I put together the following demonstrations.(view in My Videos)(view in My Videos)    

Hello,   Currently I am trying to run a CREO Flow Analysis for my parts and I am having trouble making boundary conditions for my inlet and outlet for the parts I have created.    When I did the Without Heat Transfer: Power Inverter Overview tutorial on CREO, I was able to do it flawlessly. Now when I do the tutorial,  I automatically get BC_1 and BC_2. When I do CREO flow simulation for my parts, I don't get the those boundary conditions at all and when I try to add them, it doesn't allow me and the error I get says "Selected surfaces don't refer to single fluid domain" even though I have created my fluid domain.    I have the two images attached to this post. Let me know what I can do to fix the problem.   Thanks, Greg          

Dose anyone know of a way to make a hollow cylindrical refinement zone? What I'm after is a zone that looks looks a tube instead of a solid bar. I currently have a cylindrical refinement zone but if I try to create another zone I get a fatal error and CFA crashes. The documentation says you can set up any number of refinement zones.

Hello all and welcome to another blog post in this multibody blog series. Todays topic: How to “position” a body.   You might wonder why I put the word position into quotes. The reason for this is that when we talk about positioning, many of us start thinking of positioning component-like objects.  The fact that components have their system of reference (e.g. coordinate system including the origin) makes it natural to understand that positioning transforms that coordinate system from one location and orientation into another. Geometric bodies do represent a volume of geometry referring to the part’s reference system, therefore the positioning of geometric bodies should probably be better called “Moving” geometry. Anyway, after this introductory thought, I hope you enjoy the video illustrating how this is done in Creo. I'm having a use who's Creo 7.0.4.0 runs really poorly after losing VPN and license, then reconnecting.Poorly means highlighting is very slow. Has anyone else run into this issue in the past and found resolution?

Hello,   We are trying to see different size of sections on the right size depending on the left side object that we sellect. We want to see different product lists if we select "BORU, KARE MIL OR PROFİL..." which are the section types we use in our designs. Could you give a support to make this in Creo? Hi, I have a drawing of a sheet metal part that has two instances that differ by one dimension. These instances create two flat patterns. I want to display the instances in a table in the drawing. I want to display the part in flat pattern state, and I want the table to only contain flat instances. In other words, I need to filter (exclude) bent instances (they are identical except that one flat pattern feature is Y and N, i.e. suppressed and not suppressed).How can I achieve this? I tried various filters, but I can't figure out how to filter by this suppressed state. Thanks.

Hello Everyone   I am trying to use bonded contacts on two cylindrical surfaces; however, I get this error "Selected surfaces can not be used for this connection".   I believe this error because I have cylindrical surfaces to connect.Can anyone help me in how to use bonded connection for cylindrical surfaces?   Thank you in Advance.

I am trying to get a ribbon cable to route properly in an assembly, unfortunately I am not finding much info on this topic in the help files, this forum, or googling in general. I was able to get a spool set up and route some simple cables that are mostly straight with some ups and downs. Is there a way to access functions from the Piping and Cabling (PCX) extension with the Object Toolkit? There is nothing defined in the documentation about extensions.

I am using Creo Parametric 4.0 M130Trying to recreate .wrapper files in Windchill with Creo Distributed Batch. Setup everything according to CS292025 and ran through all configurations and steps, but the non-Creo files never update with the updated template and DIP files. The DBatch results show that the job has competed with no errors.Please advise.

I am using Creo Parametric 6.0 6.0.6.0I have a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad (7 weeks old, 11th Gen Intel Core 2.40GHz, 16.0GB RAM) and have been trying to use Creo Parametric to work on some products at my new job; unfortunately, the software doesn’t seem to want to run at all and is extremely slow and laggy on the PC. I can just about open a model but orbiting/ panning too quickly will make the program crash and freeze. It is incredibly slow to implement and view changes. On this laptop, I also have NX 11 and Solidworks installed, which are CAD packages with similar requirements to Creo (possibly even higher), and they can run with no problem, so I do know this issue is Creo specific. I am working on these packages at the moment whilst I look at fixing Creo, but would prefer to be working in a compatible environment to my colleagues. Fixes I have tried: I have attempted to rewrite my ‘config’ file to change some key settings (an experienced colleague's recommendation) but with no luck. I

Using CP 4.  End goal is to be able to swap out un-related PN in the next-higher-level assembly via family tables.   Intermediate Assembly #1 has a tabulated drawing.  It uses instances of part #1 and part #2.  They are mutually-exclusive (i.e. it uses either part #1 or part #2, but never both at the same time).  Key point is that they have similar form-fit-function, thus are mechanically interchangeable for the purposes of this discussion.   Part #1 and Part #2 are separate files.  Made by different people.  And each of them have instances.  The key point is that they DO NOT follow the same modeling philosophy.  But in the context of my next higher assembly, they are "equivalent".   I made an interchange assembly containing Part #1 and Part #2 so I could automagically switch them out.  Defining reference pairs between Part #1 and Part #2  is the *FAIL*.  Assembly #1 references a datum plane of Part #1.  The per

This is for Creo 7. We have mapkeys tied to buttons in the GUI that allow users to very quickly pick some of our more common materials.   They work great the first time but one of the issues is the "set as master". If a user clicks on the mapkey a second time however the material changes to be PTC_SYSTEM_MTRL_PROPS. It appears that everytime you invoke "set as master"   mapkey(continued) ~ PopupOver `finder` `listPopup` 1 `FFileListPHLay.Filelist`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Open `finder` `listPopup`;~ Close `finder` `listPopup`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `finder` `FAddPushLib`;   it toggles  between the material you meant to assign and the PTC system material.   Anyone figured out a way around this so it doesn't toggle the PTC system material? Obviously training is an option. I could tell users to put the material in a tree column or just to pull up the assign material dialog box and check before pushing the button but the goal here is to make their li
