Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Using Creo Parametric, is there a way to add a bump map and have it generate / modify the surface to allow the texture to be part of the model? My aim is to be able to 3d print a part with a texture (from the bump map) to it.

Hi alls,I can't install Corel Draw (2020 - 2021) nor Corel Technical 2020 on Windows 10 when Creo2 & Creo7 are installed.I've noted this on 2 computers.On one of them, I've got a second win10 (dual boot) without PTC software and I can install Corel without problem.Very strange but it's the only difference.Instead of normal Corel installer Window, I get image attached and nothing happen.Does someone knows if there is any compatibility problem with Corel installer ?Any advice ?Thanks

Dear community, in CREO 4 inside the model tree definition (Model Tree Columns) I found a type called "Debug". Beside others I can show "Trail Name" and "node_id" for each feature in the model tree.                             Does anybody know where those parameters are stored? I was not able to access them on a feature or model level. I would like to access these two parameters inside OTK java/JLink, so I have to know where they are stored.   Thank you and kind regards Michael

When we run ModelCheck in Save mode, the report does not always get displayed for the user to see. I have the following settings in the config_init.mc file.   # Show ReportSHOW_REPORT YN Y Y Y Y #HTML report creationHTML_FILE_OUTPUT YN Y N N Y   Is there another setting or something in the code that does not display the results like on a second save of the same file? I have modified the templates\mctabarea.js to always display the info and pass checks.

PTC has apparently made changes to the code for Windows 10 (compliance for MS standards?) that cause flashing windows to be visible when running mapkeys. The visible mapkeys config option has no effect on this, I have a product enhancement request posted, please vote for it to get it on the to do list for development. This config option only works on the original menu based UI items and not the new GUI so it is rendered ineffective starting with WF release.   PTC explanation for the newly flashing windows: P-50( Creo 5.0) lets Windows 10 add the desktop window manager glow to the borders of its windows.  When Windows does that it changes the composition level of the window, which affects the timing etc. of things such as map and unmap.  What you are seeing in P-50(Creo 5.0) is surely the fact that Windows takes marginally longer now to show/hide a window.   Vote for the fix to be implemented here: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/Update-functionali

As per this thread - similar issue   @OliverGräbner Is there a limit on the number of hole charts we can specify with SCR_THREAD_SERIES_THREAD? Using Creo 4 M150 and IFX40-M041, it seems like only the first 5 will load into IFX, but we would like to use 6 to get different hole notes for key and knife inserts.   SCR_THREAD_SERIES_THREAD STD_THD M_THD STD_KEY M_KEY STD_KNF M_KNF   Switching the order changes leads to the last one not loading: SCR_THREAD_SERIES_THREAD STD_THD M_THD STD_KNF M_KNF M_KEY STD_KEY  

I am making program using creo manufacturing and using CAM Post post processer to convert it in Fanuc controller program. But machine is very old control system or something else is locked in machine, which is not able to read i, k command used in Radius turning step and only able to understand "R" command.   How can we make CL file which should have 'R' command instead of i,k command for radius machining in 2-axis turning machine?

Hello,   I am using a 2013 Macbook Pro (Retina , 15-inch Early 2013) with VM WareFusion running Windows 10 64-bit edition. I installed the PTC Creo 3.0 Student Edition and when opening a new part I am getting a BLACK SCREEN in the work space. I did some googling and alot of people are saying to go to the Options> Config Editor> Search Graphics and change it to something else than what is currently selected. Unfortunately when I use the FIND function to search for GRAPHICS nothing shows up.   Here are some specs for my machine   Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB DDR3 Graphics: NVIDIA GeForceGT 650M 1024MB     VMWARE Settings:   I've allocated "4 processors"   16348 Mb of memory   I do have assignments i need to finish so i am in a bit of a rush to have this resolved and it would be great if anyone with some experience can help me out! thank you!

One thing that I liked in my SolidWorks days, is the fact that I was able to make some tests in bending machine, and it was really easy to define bend deduction of a certain material and bend condition. And easier to input in solid works. In Creo we have k factor and y factor. I'm able to do some math and determine the k factor and y factor from the trials made in bending machine. Sorry if my question is too trivial, but has anyone here used the proximity snapping to assemble a part?  I think it is a very good function, but I could not use it (I tried to change the options in File -> Option -> Assembly).   If you can use it, could you please show some screenshots or screen record? Hello!   I have the problem to understand how can I do a rooting and manufacture drawing of the wiring with:   2x housing, 2 wires, 4 crimp contacts.   Even I do the rooting, I use the C-Sys of the housing parts. All is going well, but afterword's in the manufacture drawing I have the correct table with the 2 wires, and another table with the 2 housings. This is OK. But I wish to have also the 4 crimp contacts.  How can I put this parts in? The crimp contacts can be done with 100% geometry, but better is if these should be just a empty parts. Are there some ideas for this?   Thank you!  

I'm trying to easily change the line color for FOMR and HOLE(EXTRUDE) using a combination of toolkit and mapkey.As shown in the video, after collecting the form shape, the intended operation was attempted by changing the line color.(view in My Videos) However, an unexpected result appeared.If HOLE(EXTRUDE) occurs before the FORM shape, the HOLE(EXTRUDE) color is not changed.   How to make the function work smoothly...When modeling in Creo, is it best to design the FORM first and then use HOLE(EXTRUDE)? I've a part that I'm not able to unbend it. The forming in the bend is giving some concerns. any idea? Can you help me?  

I am modeling a circuit for oil cooled brakes to evaluate the flow throughout the system. I don't have the detail for the brakes themselves but I do have some test data for flow and dP. I would like to represent the restriction of the brakes using the Porous Surface model on an interface. How can I determine the Thickness, Permeability and the Quadratic Coefficient? I have a representation of the brakes in the model with a certain length which I think I can use as the thickness. I need to determine Permeability and Quadratic Coefficient based on my test data. Does anyone have a suggestion? I was given a spreadsheet to find the Linear and Quadratic Drag Coefficients for a resistance model that was applied to a domain. I would like something similar to that for the porous surface.

Does someone have some experiences on seting up a fan in the simulation? now we know the some Parameters of a fan,such as RPM ,P-Q curve etc.How do I load the Parameters into the software？The following pictures , that I will show the steps,First,create fluid domain(create the fan rotation domain) Second,select the soild components and the fluid components as the picture Third，select the physical model Fourth，select all the domain,and mesh location Options selected "All Volumes" the others setting as the pic Fifth，set up the parameters of a fan&boundary conditions,see the pics     Does anyone have good suggestions？Thanksａｌｏｔ！      

Hello,   I have an assembly part that I am trying to do a flow analysis for. When I hit Create the Fluid Domain, it took over a day to create. After I selected my inlet and outlet surfaces for my boundary conditions. I then added it to my simulation. When I added it to the simulation, BC_1 and BC_2 were not created. This has happened to me before, but I don't understand why.   Does any have an idea for why this happens? Does anyone know how to fix this error?   Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Also, does anyone know how to find different groups to post to? I have been having trouble with that too.   Thanks, Greg Williams

I am trying to run a flow simulation of a valve where a valve body moves in a chamber. when I gave conditions for 1d translation and ran the simulation the whole fluid domain moves ( that is the valve body moves along with the chamber as a single body). I wanted only the valve body to move within the chamber. I am not sure where I did the mistake I think it should be somewhere in assembly but not able to figure it out. I would appreciate it if somebody could help me out with this problem. thank you 

I wanted to simulate the flow characteristic in a valve when the valve body moves in a particular speed within the chamber of valve structure, but when I simulate the analysis by setting the physics for 1d translation for just the valve body the whole structure valve body and chamber moves together as a single object. I couldn't figure out where the problem is. I defined the translation dynamics only for the valve body not the chamber but still both moves together. kindly help me out with this problem. I have attached the assembly with this post kindly help me out. I have attached the screenshot of the problem I am facing.

One of our users has lost the Workspace line in his Common Folders tab. Does anyone know what he may have done to lose it and what can we do to get it back? He can still get to his files with the Home icon and then open his workspace in the browser, but using the shortcut in the Common Folders tab is faster.

Hi all,I intended to try Creo Parametric (Trial) but on startup I get only the follwoing dialog complaining about no write access to "C:\win... \system32"I really don't expect apps to fiddle in that directory but anyway, this isn't a very pleasant first experience with a trial software...I have a Win 10 Pro desktop machine which should have no problems running std software.I tried modifying the directory via the UI-dialog, but attempts to change can't be confirmed wit OK, and thus it doesn't stick, and I get this dialog everytime I strat Creo. Any hints about how to get started with Creo?// Rolf
