Creo+ and Creo Parametric

So, I've just got a couple of questions which can probably be answered quite quickly.   The first is, in my parts ive used the extrude tool to cut out a hole in my part rather than use the 'hole' feature. Does this mean im going to have some trouble when im trying to add nuts/thread to the holes ect. If so ill just have to go back and change the circle sketch extrudes to holes.   My second question following on from this would be is there a simple way to just place a hole using the hole feature exactly where ive created an extrude hole, as some of my holes arent perpendicular to their surfaces so im unsure how i use the hole feature for problems like this.   Any help is appreciated, thank you       

Hello Community,   I would like to gain the knowledge about how to add simple symbols to a curved area. I´m not sure but I think this is an easy task if you know how to do it. I would like to add "a print" and not a profile (nothing with depth, of course you can show me this too) Example object - a switch - see attachment. I also just made a model (roughly) so that you can test it if you want - maybe there are other hints or ways which I could do better in Creo 6.0. For now I added layers which are oriantated on the curved area but this is the problem - A flat layer to match on a cruved area...The outcome is not satisfactory.   Don´t be surprised - so far I am not the best on Creo but willing to learn as much as I can. Hello,   Thank you for replying to my earlier queries, please help me with this. I have written a Java Async App which loads a model(drawing) in session and then generates its PDF via  Drawing.Export(filename, pdfexportinstructions);   I occasionally get an exception "pfcExceptions$XToolkitCommError" while exporting or sometimes while retrieving/displaying model. And the exception is random, which is making it hard to debug. I am using session.RetrieveModel(Model Descriptor) to get model from current working directory.If you need any information else, please ask. Quick help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm making surfaces in creo right now but I'm having trouble because the sketch I used to create the extrude to which the surface connects to was made with multiple lines. Thus when I create a boundary blend or surface I'm unable to create the surface because it is not continuous. If you look at the image you can see the surface is incomplete because the curve used from the extruding was from a sketch with multiple lines. Is there a way to merge lines, or project the lines all as one, or create a datum line along the edge? I'm using the style tool using style to create the surfaces.

1) I have a customer part with a datum structure where the origin is off in space. 2) I figured out how to add a Csys to my Model  3) I was able to use layers to get only that Csys to show up in my drawing view 4) Creo wouldn't let me dimension off the Csys. I had to create datum planes using the Csys and then datum axes using those planes. Using Show Model Annotations was finally get dimensions on in drawing with the axes.   Is there an easier way? or at least cleaner? model is going to get very messy with this process.    (working in CREO 6.0.2)

I do have an account by PTC.com. On my new computer I installed (several times) Creo Elements Direct Modeling Express 8.0 .   After opening I get this error and it keeps coming every time. See also picture below.   Please help what to do.   Greatings Bert Michiels    h.michiels@chello.nl    

Hi guys. I need some help with section views. Particularly how can i redo the sketch after i add in more features and want to ref those new features on already made cross section views??    Lets say i have a mold base assembly. I have some section views in my assembly referencing some features in my mold plates and such.    I then add some MORE features to the mold plates, and now want to reference these new features in my cross section sketch.    If i re-define this cross section sketch, it puts me back in time to when they where originally created....not now where i can ref these new features.   Whats the work around? I dont want to have to redo all these sections views! Im using creo7.0.2.0 by the way.      Thanks, Jay    

I just installed the latest version of creo and changed the config.pro file at creo>Common Files>text to all the metric. When I open the configuration editor is says its in metric.   But when I open a new part it's imperial by default, why isn't it listening to the config file?    

To all the GURUS out there.  Got any idea how to accomplish this?   Using Creo5. i would like to be able to select a part and in the RMB menu i would like to be able to choose "SHOW FILE IN WINDOWS EXPLORER" because i use a lot of search_paths.    Got any idea how it can be done?   I know you can launch windows explorer with a mapkey, but to have it open the explorer to a specific location that a part/asm file sits.  

Hi, I can't make a sweep because the section is too long and the internal radius gives me problems. To solve the problem I have to create 2 sweeps but I would like to use only 1.   Sketch sweep direction & sections   First sweep maintaining the internal radius Second sweep without radius       (view in My Videos)

What is the best practice for representing lock wire?  In an aerospace application with a large assembly there are several locations where we use lock wire to hold fasteners tight.   We are concerned with regen time on such a large model.  At the present time we are using just sketched entities in the drawing to show lock wire.  This is good for regen time on the assembly but the lock wire is not represented in the assembly and there is no part that populates the smart BoM in the drawing.     I personally don't like using draw entities because any multitude of potential changes often require re-drawing the sketch.   What is the best practice for representing lock wire?  Datum curves in the assembly?  Surfaces in the assembly?  Creo Piping and Cabling module?   Cheers,   Airfix

I am working on a design and I need to extrude 1 mm normal to a curved top surface. Reference simple part example. The top surface is not continuous. I think there's a way to offset an entire top surface down 1 mm and then cut up to that surface. How do I create that offset surface? Snapshot below is what I'd like to achieve

I need to add ballooning to all dimensions and notes in the drawing file automatically for part inspection purpose. Is there any way to perform this task? Further more, the ballooning and the respective dimensional details is required to be exported to a spreadsheet.

So I've created a sweep in an assembly as shown in the image. This sweep will be the mirrored to create two rails underneath a bicycle seat, however after creating the sweep, it isnt creating a solid shape, its just showing me where it would be, ive used points and a 3D curve to create the sweep geometry.    Is there any way i can copy out all the points and the curve created from the points to create the sweep in a new file as a new part, that way i can add this new part into the assembly? 

Why can't I select a sketch in revolve? In the "placement" tab of the revolve definition Creo won't let me select a predefined sketch. I always have to opt for defining a brand new one built in to the revolve feature. Is there something I'm not understanding?

I am using Creo Parametric 3.0 M190not able to show centerline in detailing for all different views at once, not able to select centerline from the show model annotations. not able to import the text file in unattached notes in detailing.

I have been trying to build a search query to find all datum reference features with intent surfaces in a model. I can not figure out which of the search criteria would do this.    It appears that datum reference features are not explicitly handled by the search tool as a feature type. I can find all intent surfaces in a model using search function but that is a superset of what I want.   Is anyone aware of a good reference document for the search tool? 

no 3D sweep til Creo 4.0 M020..

Hi,I've got a half-section of my cylindrical part on Drawing mode in Creo Parametric 3.0. In order to annotate the inner hole I created a horizontal dimension. The thing is I'd like to have single-arrow leader (which starts from hole outline that is visible on section view) instead of both-arrows leader which is given by default. How can I achieve that? I guess I should change some default parameters value but I've no idea which ones. Thank you in advance for all replies!
