I am looking to change the direction the tool moves so that it moves down the face of the part with each pass. It wants to cut in the z direction. I would like it to cut in the x direction. I believe this yellow arrow has something to do with it. Is there a way to rotate this arrow?
Hello, We are trying to see how many users were using PTC for the last year. I would like to get username and computer name. Our network license server is running on Windows OS. Any ideas/recommendations are appreciated. Thank you Leo
Hi guys, I'm using Creo 3.0 and I'm designing a dummy windscreen for a truck. One of the difficulties I'm dealing with at the moment is to create some holes in the dummy. I'd like to create a pattern of 4 holes which is following the outside edge of the windscreen at a given distance and perpendicular to it. Is there a way to do this. Keep in mind that the edge of the windscreen is curved in 3D. This dummy is designed in sheet-metal but I started with a "surface".
Hi guys, I've created a 3D-curved sheet-metal plate by means of copying and modifying a 3D-surface from one of the models from our customer.I did this with the feature "Offset" which created a sheet-metal from a quilt. But after that I'm not able to create a flat pattern or a "flatten quilt" anymore. Is there somebody who can help me with this? The plate is only 1.6mm thick in aluminium, so our shopfloor will be able to form this plate in the correct shape. The work-around I'm doing now, is: - create a quilt of the surface at the bottom of the model-tree - copy this quilt into a new part - "flatten quilt" this quilt in the new part But I wonder if there is no better way of doing this. Company's who are creating car-body-parts do have the same problem I think...
Is it possible to define parameters' filters using other keywords than "*" in order to achieve a deeper filtering result? For example, having to distinguish an object named "BLADE_1_2" from another one whose name is "BLADE_A_B" in order to show/hide only the first one, a regex expression such as (BLADE)(_[1-9]){2} would almost do the job.Is there any possibility to define a filter within CREO to get the same result?Thanx.Giuseppe
We are working with a partner exchanging STEP files, what we need to be able to do, in an automated way, is save out a STEP file of a component or sub-assembly: attaching the windchill version of the CAD document to the STEP file name using a specific co-ordinate system (same name in each part/assy) We need to do it like this so that our partner can place the step files we send them correctly and have visibility of the version of Creo data it came from. So first of all is it even possible to perform a rename, save as or export in Creo with a Windchill version suffix? Then is it possible to always use a specifically name co-ordinate system when exporting to STEP? Thanks for your help
Hi all, I would like to calculate the total surface area of a part that has threaded holes. By default, Creo only calculates the surface area of a threaded hole by only considering the hole's minor diameter. This causes the calculated surface area in Creo to be approx. 20% lower that the actual surface area of a threaded hole. Therefore, for a part with hundreds of threaded holes there will be a significant difference between the actual surface area vs. the area measured in Creo. Is there a way to calculate the real surface area of threaded holes. P.s. making helical sweep for each of the holes could be quite time consuming and possibly make model heavy to load.
I have to make a section with creo, only that the representation in my opinion is not done correctly. The question is if you can change the type of visualization or do I just think so and do you have to do more sections?
I am trying to pinpoint a problem with many users expierencing random crashing while running Creo 2.0 M100 off a server install. I am looking through some of the traceback.log files and I see patterns but I want to know if there is a way to tell what is actually causing the problem (hardware, software, graphic, etc). I am not the one using Creo when it crashes and PTC support always wants to know exactly what was being done when the crash happens. I can't always tell them since I am not familiar with the program to even relay the message between the users and PTC. All users are on Win7 x64 that meet PTCs min requirements to run Creo. The one thing that may be causing issues is the graphics cards. They are not included in PTC's support\certified list. The two things that I see in all of the logs are lines referencing xtop:0x0000.... and atio6axx:0x0000..... PTC did tell me that most atio6axx lines mean an issue with graphics cards. Two parital log files are below. Can anyone tell
Hello, When I make drawings, I like to use shown dimensions and parameters for everything if possible. When it isn't possible, I use the usual work-arounds, like everybody else. When, for example, I have a set of holes patterned in two directions, my drawing note will often be something like: '4 holes dia 8.5 through, c'bored dia 14 x 8 deep'. The dimensions are no problem, I can use &d123, &d124, etc. as appropriate. The '4 holes' is more of an issue, because there are p1 holes in direction 1 and p2 holes in direction 2. I tend to swing one of two ways: Either 1. I go into the part and make a parameter 'no_of_holes_parameter' and make a relation to make 'no_of_holes_parameter'=p1 + p2 and use the parameter in the drawing note, or, 2. I just type in the 4. Neither method has a lot to recommend it. The typed in option (2) is clear and simple to understand for the poor tormented souls who have to modify my drawings in the future, but if the numb
As many of you know, using the keyboard mapkey to change the selection filter can be a timesaver, especially because the list of entities that can be picked changes depending on what you are doing. The internal Creo command `ProCmdSelFilterSet` is useful because now mapkey will work regardless of the "work mode" (well, almost).Examples:Use the argument 15 to change the filter to axis entities:mapkey sax @MAPKEY_NAMESets the selection filter to Axis; @MAPKEY_LABELSelect Axis;\mapkey(continued) ~ Command `ProCmdSelFilterSet` 15; In this example, the selection filter is set to "Geometry" by using argument 320002:mapkey sg @MAPKEY_NAMESelect Geometry;@MAPKEY_LABELSelect Geometry; ~ Command `ProCmdSelFilterSet` 320002; Through experimenting and by mapkey recording of selecting different filters in different modes of Creo 2.0 (M130),I compiled a list of "entity types" that can be selected for filtering using the 'ProCmdSelFilterSet' command.Caveat: this seems to only work during modeling of p
My (simplified) ToolKit program calls ProEngineerStart() looks like : void main() { ProError status; status = ProEngineerStart("parametric.bat",""); printf("ProEngineerStart(): %d\n", status); } Run it in our office using company network (so as to get license) and sometimes the returned error code were -48 (failed) and 0 (OK) other times. When it returned -48 colleagues' computers (two actually) were also had the same problem. When it returned 0 , the two colleagues were all OK. The strange thing is, run on my computer were OK always, no -48 at all. I am suspecting the license server . . . however, what does the -48 exactly means? suspecting license server's behavior
I'm using Creo7.0 at my current workplace, which has only one Creo license (Creo Parametric Essentials Team).I have just set up a Creo Essentials Home Use license (PROE_EssentialsMHome) to work from home, but I am not able to use the Copy Geometry function (it's grayed out). However, this function was available on my workplace computer. Is this a limitation for Home Use licenses?Or is my license at home not configured properly or not being recognized? If I go to the Licenses tab in the options menu, it doesn't show any additional licenses - however, my workplace computer, which has the Copy Geometry function available, shows exactly the same (no additional licenses). I'm able to use other basic functions, so I know the license is being recognized. Additionally, if I go to File→Help→System Information, in the list of the installed Optional Modules of my license, "ASSY_PERFORMANCE" is included, which as far as I know should allow me to use the Copy Geometry function.
Hi, I came across Creoson and it's components, but I couldn't figure out how to use these with Visual Studio(VB). Could anyone please help me with this? Thanks
Last year I added a config.pro option below which allowed .dwg file to be black & white (WF5). intf2d_out_dxf_mapping_file (Directory path to dxf_export.pro) We are now switching to Creo 4.0 and it is back to the color of the drawing on the screen (Yellow with white [black on the scree] background. Very hard to see on a file viewer. I could not find that config option while searching Creo 4.0 options. Does anyone have a suggestion for another one? Thanks, Dale
Hello, I am a newbie to Creo. I have a full license, however, the boundary blend just seems to be greyed out on all settings. Nothing seems to work and I can only find other people with this problem with no solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Someone has posted a similar problem to this a while ago however no one has answered yet. Thanks Tom
after I converted a solid to sheetmetal (driving surface) and I edit a thickness of the original solid in the modeltree, it does not update the wall thickness of the converted part. Why does this not happen and more important is there a setting available to automatically update sheetmetal wall-thickness without having to manually add some relation?
I was testing my Asynchronous on my friend system then CREO shown this error. How I can disable this?
I'm working with a part that has complex curvature. I wish to place a point at the position on the surface that is at the minimum distance from a plane which does not intersect the surface. I can use Analysis->Measure->Distance and I'm provided with the measured distance and an indication of where on the surface the minimum occurs. What I would like is to have a way to determine exactly where in space that minimum point is, either by creating a point at the location on the surface, or by getting some XYZ coordinates with respect to a coordinate system, etc. Is this possible? Is there some trick with relations that will let me extract the XYZ coordinate values from the measure, or something like that?
I am having trouble setting up the VB API. I would like to use it through excel and I am trying to get the example excel/VB program to run, but I am getting the error no: -2147352567, Error: pfcExceptions::XToolkitGeneralError.I think that I don't have my PRO_DIRECTORY set correctly, and/or the Pro/E Executable Path I'm using isn't correct. My PRO_DIRECTORY goes to my /ptc/proewildfire4 folder and I've tried the full executable path to xtop.exe, and proe.exe.Can anyone help me with this? If it makes a difference, when I try to run xtop.exe, I get the error RgiWrapIsoLib.dll was not found. Thanks for any help.
Hi Guys!! I hope this message finds you all safe and well especially during these hard times. First off this forum has been INVALUABE over the years. Even though this is my first post, reading through the forum has helped from countless nights of pulling my hair out. Just a big thank you really for putting in the time to answer the questions put forward by users. I have been using PTC software since University, first WF4 then CREO 2 & 7…. I think the phrase might be “Hook ‘em while they’re young” I have just started freelancing and looking to upgrade my current system at home. My current lifestyle dictates that I need to have a portable workstation. Which doesn’t help as my budget is low especially for this category. Would love to be in one place and have a desktop workstation…..one day. I have been combing the forums, checking reviews and PTC’s advised hardware etc. I have whittled my search to two systems, one verified by PTC and one no
I assume I have a list of tables and loop through them, how do tell which sheet# a table belong to on a multiple sheet drawing? TableOwner tableOwner = (TableOwner) pfcSession.GetCurrentSession().GetCurrentModel(); Tables tables = tableOwner.ListTables(); for (int i = 0; i < tables.getarraysize(); i++) { Table table = tables.get(i); I tried read the free jlink docs but I could not locate it.
I have a fairly complicated region that I need the area of to verify the safety of that region but can't seem to find out how to just get the two parts of the cross sections area. Attached is a screenshot of the part, labeled " A " and " B " are the two areas that I need to know. The measurement tool doesn't let me get the area of cross sections and mass properties cross section analysis doesn't let my to get just a part of it. Is there a way to do this in CREO?
Is it possible to define material for all parts in assembly at once, without opening each part and define material for it?
Old license at 7788@xxxxx not longer valid, how can I change this to new target directory? Please help
