Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi, hope someone could help me how to set up config.pro file or any other way I could sole my issue with Creo interface.My first problem is how to setup Layer tab width on creo startup or when open new work file , ( as every time minimizes for every new part file ) ( see attached image )Second problem I need help with is how to setup line thickness? I would need a less thick selected line, and more thick general lines in 3D model , as this lines are so thin and barely visible on 4K monitors ( see attached )Thank you in advance! Stefan

Hello, I have applied an appearance to a model for carbon steel. I added the appearance by highlighting the whole part, then selecting the desired appearance. Where the issue comes into play is if you modify the part in any way, it will change the cut/intersected surfaces back to the default generic/grey appearance while it needs to be the new carbon steel appearance. Is there some sort of setting to fix this? Please see example below.   

Hi!Recently we had a problem with updating views on drawing regarding AFX profils. The views do not reflect the changes made in the 3D. We are forced to manually update all the views for each drawing. Since we have hundreds of drawings per project, this takes an enormous amount of time. And normally, it used to work perfectly fine before. For the past few weeks, it hasn’t been working anymore. The variable auto_regen_views is set to ‘yes’.Has anyone else encountered this issue recently?Thanks for your help.

I'm using Creo 7.0.2.0 and working on implementing Model-Based Definition (MBD) at my company. Are there any specific config.pro or detail options that should be set or adjusted to better support MBD workflows?

We are new to MBD. How do we create the MBD format? Can we use the 2D format? Please share any link and youtube or videos.

Hello,When I make a drawing of a part, we are making it two pages as the second one is same for all including general information. I have a question. Can I make a .frm file and make a drawing with that format to have 2 pages? I do have .frm file for the first page for general title block and another .frm file for second page to insert after manually creating second page at the drawing. What I need create a two page .frm file and when I call it at the beginning it will create desired two page drawing without need of creating second page afterwards.Please ask if it is not clear for you. Please let me know if there is a good method for creating a winding model when creating a conductor model.Using a helical sweep allows for the creation of a winding with a consistent thickness, but since the coil height is 18mm and the wall thickness is 12.5mm, bending the model created with the helical sweep will cause interference with the coil. Building a decent sized harness that will have a few places where things get spliced, found this video which give me some information on a way to do it...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1Ff4-zHkbA Few things I'd like to know is one is this the best way to add splices to a harness? Would there be a way to do it without adding another physical part to the mix? I have not verified this but doing it in this way would create a new wire number (W-1,W-2 etc) for each new wire that comes out of the splice which would show up as individual wires on a to from table in a drawing. Would there be another method that would call out all those wires as one wire number but still allow multiple gauges? If this is the only way then I get it Creo being Creo. I just find it hard to believe that there isn't a way to splice wires without adding another solid body to the harness assembly and just doing it right in the harness menu.

Hello, I am using Notebooks, Relations, and pro program to configure top level General Assemblies. The problem is, I keep getting the following error when regenerating one of our top level assemblies (blurred out some of the numbers): WARNING: More than one common interchange group found.More than one common interchange. Attempting to replace with xxxxxxxx_INT.Pro/Program replace of component xxxxxxxxxxxx (M94) failed in Assembly xxxxxxxxx.Aborting regeneration due to failures executing Pro/Program. The notebook relations to drive parameters are similar to what you see below Starter_name & Starter_Number are parameters. Starter_Number is the part number in windchill 11.0 commonspace. pro/program example is shown below  The issue is that we have a new interchange assembly that is set up correctly to swap these starters. I have a part with Appearance State already defined, how do I "link" that appearance to the assembly? Context:  I already defined 3 appearance states of a part by assigning colors to various surfaces (for texture map, finished product color, and the default model color). In the assembly, is there a way to quickly switch between these Appearance States of the part? The appearance state of the assembly seems completely independent of the part's appearance. I figure it is to be done via layers or representations, but had zero luck. Thank you.

I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.8.0Basically I’m trying to learn how to create a hole feature UDF with pro program embedded in it where pro program would be prompting user to read values from a text file which would create a different size hole each time the UDF was placed. If I had a part model that had 3 different size tapped holes, could I place the same UDF 3 times but each time read the text file (modified with new values) to create a different size hole (8-32, ¼-20, etc.) Or is this not what Pro Program was intended to do?

When placing a view in a drawing, the boundary of the view is much larger than the actual solid part.  I think it is referencing some datums or ref geo in the view.  Is there a way to get the view to be proportional to the actual solid body in the view?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.4.0I have written a C executable that will not run unless ucore68.dll is in my Windows path. I want to not be dependent on DLLs if possible.Here are the errors that I faced:The code execution cannot proceed because ucore68.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

We are looking at installing ITI's CADIQ and I was wondering if anyone in the PTC Creo community is already running it and can give us some information. What we are wondering is how it compares to ModelCheck in functionality and quality of the analysis.  ITI has told us that it is an external program, so files need to be saved to disk before running through CADIQ, which is a drawback when we have all of  our data in Windchill.   Love to hear experiences from those that have evaluated or are using CADIQ. Hidden line removal for quilt not working with 2D cross-section from Sections used. I want image 2,3,4 to be like image 1 that hides hidden line for quilts. If i select 2d section the option of hidden line is greyed out. It does not remove hidden lines. How to fix? Thanks in advance.  More to think ...more to creo!

I create a part using the BOUNDARY BLEND command and then OFFSET it. I wish to SOLIDIFY it now, I mean the offset geometry. Creo 11 Student Version does not like it. I am not sure why? Is there a GLITCH in Version 11 for the solidify command for geometry using the Boundary Blend?

We’ve standardized a lot of spring parameters—names, orientations, and measures—but every time we create a new spring, it still takes too long to set up both the spring and its associated measure. Example workflow: Start with an empty model and a point at (0,0,0). Using Creo 10.0.2.0 Commercial license After I completed a model and associated drawing, we had a small issue. I oriented the model wrong.I based my sketch in the "Top" plane when I should have based it in the "Front" plane. That would make it line up better in the final assembly. I know it's not a big deal to rotate it in the assembly, but it would be "nice" to just have it fit correctly in the system without rotating. I figured out I could get the orientation I needed by right-clicking the sketch and selecting references. I then switched Top with Front, Right with Top, then Front with Right to get the actual orientation I needed. Great, the model itself was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, as one might expect, this completely broke all of my annotated dimensions. I tried to reassign the planes for the annotations, but it didn't work. I then regenerated the original model and tried just switching Top and Front, leaving right alone.
