Is it possible to establish an asynchronous connection to another host running Creo? The functions used are ProEngineerConnect & ProEngineerConnectIdExtract & ProEngineerConnectIdGet.The test with the tool nmsq.exe on another host fails:nmsq.exe -host MARVIN -queryERROR: NMS client: could not connect to the Name Server. (host MARVIN, port 31239)on the local host the tool is successful, but only if the hostname is specified, with the ip it does not work locally either
We've been having a problem lately with assembly drawing x-hatching not looking correct after save-as to PDF. This seems to have happened since maybe CREO 9, possibly earlier. But it seems to get worse with each release. It starts out with an assembly drawing with x-hatching. It looks fine. But when we save-as to PDF, the x-hatching looks messed up. I have attached some screen shots of the PDF showing x-hatching not looking correct. This is not the only drawing it happens on. It happens Currently using CREO 10. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I encountered an issue when I tried to insert a note to our drawing. When we are using the same drawing for different project, I like to create a "stamp" like note on the drawing to indicate which project this drawing is used for. With the following code, I can set font height but cannot change the font. Although notestyle.getfont confirmed the font was applied, but when it showed, it reverted back to default font "Arial". Did I miss anything? note = drawing.CreateDetailItem(noteInstructions) noteStyle = (New CCpfcAnnotationTextStyle).Create() noteStyle.SetHeight(FontHeight) noteStyle.SetFont("ARIALN.TTF") note.SetNoteTextStyle(noteStyle) Console.WriteLine(noteStyle.GetFont) note.Show()
I try to understand, why, in Creo 9.0, the the sketching, the Project have been changing. The new way to select the line to project is longer to work with it. In the past, we chose Sketch Complete loop, and we chose each line one after the other. Now, we have to chose one line, chose chain, then chose the Rule-Based, then the rule we want, ok, and to finish to tell the command that we want to create the geometry... A work that will normally have taken maybe 30 minutes to extrude in solid a dxf file send by my client, will surely take a few hours.
What settings in CREO would allow me to fast navigate a BIG assembly? Any secrets any tips will help. EXISTING is frame by frame slow movement of the assembly. Thanks in advance for your reply.
When copying the default simple_drilled.hol file into hole file location which is set by the config option HOLE_PARAMETER_FILE_PATH, I get a format error once I use the hole command to create a hole. The error is:Format error in fastener input file : N:\AMG File\AMG CAD ROOM\Creo Library\Hole Files\simple_drilled.hol at line no: 8 The only thing I changed on the default file is PRO-VERSION to 24 from 25 because I would get a fatal crash and remove the ! to un-comment the DEFAULT_CALLOUT_FORMAT_DATA section as shown here: HOLE_TABLE_DATAPRO_VERSION 24TABLE_TYPE SIMPLE_DRILLEDCALLOUT_FORMAT DEFAULT_CALLOUT_FORMAT_DATAHOLE_TYPE DRILLED_DEPTH CSINK CBORE EXIT_CSINK CALLOUT_FORMATSIMPLE_DRILLED VAR YES NO NO DRILLED HOLE &DIAMETER &VAR_DEPTH &DRILL_DEPTH I have tried all kinds of combinations to try to figure out the format error. PLEASE HELP!!
I'm working in an assembly in Creo 7.0.2.0, and I am trying to determine the interference between two objects. I want to determine the distance between the two furthest points of each object to determine how much they are interfering with each other. I found the "Pairs Clearance" feature that lets you select two objects, and it will show you the clearance between the two closest points of each object. I was wondering if there was a feature that did the same thing for interference parts, so I can determine the extent of how far the two parts are interfering. I have tried the "Global Interference", but it just outputs a volume and not a distance. Does anyone have any more experience with this? I am somewhat new to the "Analysis" tab and have only used it for measurements and mass properties.
Looking for some helpful tips on when to use bodies and not to use bodies. We moved to Creo 10 recently(from 7 i believe?). Creo 7 had bodies but it wasn't something i was really interested in learning then. Seems that Bodies have come along way in the 3 generations(and even more in 11). Looking to get feedback on how you use bodies in your daily part modeling/assembly work? Things i've started to do now at the part level instead of the assembly level:Dowel PinsI'll model the pin at the part level now and assign it as a body(can xhatch it differnetly at the drawing level). I no longer need to have an assembly created for these. This also makes GDT much easier at the part level instead of the assembly levelThreaded InsertsI'll either model a helicoil myself or do Get Data -> Import and import a threaded insert as a body into my model(assembly via csys). Much easier to handle the drawing this wayI think i might do some plug welds for cross
Current Status:The dimension for the increment of a pattern is entered with 6 decimal places. The dimension is displayed with 3 decimal places. (option default_dec_places 3)When editing, the dimension is displayed with 6 decimal places. So far, everything is correct. The pattern is redefined into a table pattern. All dimensions are rounded to 3 decimal places, meaning that values are unintentionally changed ☹️ Enhancement request:Decimal places that were originally entered should be preserved in pattern tables. No automatic modification of dimension values by Creo.
While converting the drawing to PDF, I have multiple sheet sizes (A0, A1, A2, A3, and A4), and for all these sheets, I can only assign one pentable.pnt file in configuration, but the line thickness is not the same for all sheet sizes; the lines are not visible if I use the pentable setting used or an A4 sheet for A3 to A0. Need suggestion...
Hi everyone,I am new to Creo Web.Link and currently working on automating the process of adding dimensions to a drawing view. My goal is to:Check if the current model is a drawing.Allow the user to select a view in the drawing.Retrieve model annotations (dimensions) from the selected view and display them.I am trying to use the Web.Link API, but I am facing issues with retrieving and displaying the dimensions. Here’s the function I have so far:function addDimension() {if (pfcIsMozilla())netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege("UniversalXPConnect");try {var session = pfcGetProESession();var drawing = session.CurrentModel;if (drawing.Type !== pfcCreate("pfcModelType").MDL_DRAWING) {alert("Current model is not a drawing.");return;}alert("Drawing detected. Please select a view.");// Allow user to select a viewvar selectedView = drawing.SelectView("Select a view to retrieve dimensions:");if (!selectedView) {alert("No view selected.");return;}alert("View selected: " + selectedView
I am using Creo Simulate Release N/A and DatecodeN/AHello,We currently have a Creo Design Essentials license installed on the host ID WIFI A8-64-F1-1A-D7-13, which is set to expire soon. Therefore, we would like to remove this license and replace it with the one currently assigned to host ID F8-75-A4-F4-DA-89.Could you please proceed with transferring the license from F8-75-A4-F4-DA-89 to A8-64-F1-1A-D7-13? Additionally, could you confirm that the user currently using A8-64-F1-1A-D7-13 will not encounter any issues when reinstalling the license after the transfer?
I am not able to drag up the green line at the bottom of an assembly tree or part features. Nor am I able to drag independent features or parts up or down a tree. I can see the "hand" when I put the pointer on the line, when I left-click the mouse the hand closes, but if I want to drag it, a red stop sign (red circle with line across) appears.Anyone an idea why this is happening? I can use the "Insert Here" option, but dragging the line is much simpler.thank you!Norman

Hello:in the drawing view display style set to hidden line style,we want use toolkit API get the part edge display status, hidden line or solid line, how to get the solid edge status in the drawing view? thank you.
Hi, I opened creo parametric M110 this morning and can't seem to get the embedded browser and Windchill to work. I can connect to Windchill and open parts, just not through the browser. In fact, the browser window is there but stays on on a blank white page. So "workspace" and "windchill cabinets" buttons don't work and neither does manually typing in any web url. I have tried switching between ie and chrome in config, nothing seems to work though. Thanks

I have a drawing with 3 sheets. somewhere along the way the second sheet has become corrupted and the drawing will no longer publish. i can activate/modify sheet 1 and 3 but if click on sheet 2 the program stalls and i'll have to close it out. I'd like to just delete sheet 2 and re-create it but i don't know how to do it other than right clicking and selecting delete. but right clicking it will navigate it to that sheet and then it'll freeze on me. Help?
I would like to be able to design tubes in Creo Parametric that will be 3d lasercut (to an angle of max 45 degrees). When I convert a body to sheetmetal, sidewalls are made perpendicular to eachother automatically. There are some workarounds to have angled sidewalls in sheetmetal but is it possible to have sheetmetal not do this automatically? I still need the unbend/bend back function in sheetmetal or I wouldnt use it at all for tube design.
Hello, does anybody have UDL files for editing Pro/Program and Relations with Notepad++? I've already set the config option "pro_editor_command" to my Notepad++ installation path (to use N++ instead of Notepad.exe) and I was wondering if anybody has already uploaded UDL files somewhere. Thank you in advance. Old Topic for reference - https://community.ptc.com/t5/System-Administration/Notepad-User-Defined-Language-files-for-Creo-Parametric-and-Pro/m-p/451745#M6999 And thanks to @DomenicLaritz for sharing the UDL files for config and .dtl files!
I followed the PTC tutorial to assemble the piston and seal ring, and after completing the three assembly constraints required for the piston ring assembly according to the steps, it prompted "incomplete constraint"?I said I followed the official tutorial, why is the result different from what is displayed in the tutorial? Can someone try assembling it according to the tutorial to see if the results are the same as what I got?Thank you!The tutorial can be found at the following link:活塞装配 (ptc.com)
With the search tool I would like to select all the components which have for designation_1 = "CAISSON" But I can't find the category ...
Hey all, I've created a sheetmetal part using the extrude wall feature. I have a basic clamp half where I have a large radius bend in the middle and two tabs/flaps on opposite sides. I have done a flat pattern rep and imported this into a drawing. In my drawing I initially had a rolled bend "U" symbol when calling out my bend angle for the large middle bend. This is exactly what I want. I then increased my part thickness from .060" to .075" and the drawing now has a formed bend "<" symbol instead of a rolled bend. I cannot find how to override this or even "hardcode" the symbol into my bend note. When in my model, I cannot display bend notes/annotations (I'm assuming since the part is an extrude wall feature). I don't know how I can change the "&type" of the bend for an extrude wall feature. Any ideas on what I can do?(Unable to upload model/pictures due to company policy)
HiI wold like to have parameter whit part name. But not only name also whit .prt or .asm at the end.If i made whit relations model_name=rel_model_name i get only name.example model name : Plate.prt parameter -Platei would like to havemodel name : Plate.prt parameter -Plate.prtHow can i do that. ▋
Is it possible to obtain the dimension object driven by a parameter through the toolkit? Or can you retrieve which parameters drive a given dimension? I've tried various methods but still can't associate the driven dimension with the parameter by toolkit. Even using the ProFeatureExternParentsGet function only know which model it's related to. The only method I can think of right now is to parse all the relations, but this raises another issue: if there are logical conditions like if-else-endif in the relations, it makes the parsing process more complicated. I'd like to know if there are other ways to achieve my goal. Thank you very much!
